The trouble turned out to be- snakes are reptiles and therefore ectothermic. So having them in freezers meant- they really did not move around much. As in... not at all.
So after a quick rewrite- it became "Ice Cream Zombies of the Apocalypse- with Bonus Vampires"

My (late) husband used to go to construction sites and pick up the sections of 2 X 4's that were thrown out and make picnic tables and benches out of them - really simple "X" construction, but he sold hundreds of them for 25 dollars each and the materials were all free - good profit.
