And I've probably checked out weirder things in the name of idle curiosity, now that I think of it... laugh.gif I recall I once spent half an hour trying to dig up a particular quote from the original Transformers film, just to be able to post it somewhere. biggrin.gif

Fair dues Mirocu, you do get much firewood...Now that we are solid-fuel-less, I have to say, I've not missed getting it at all...Though, I do miss the feel of the fire...

Though these radiators are warm, and the house is very nicely warmed of an evening...Can't really beat a good roaring coal fire...*Sigh*...

Oh, and something went Clunk on our "new" car yesterday, and the power steering is apparently grinding...*Sigh*...I hate the Universe™...I guess it's not done with us yet... indifferent.gif ...

Apparently it was something very important in the steering, and something that could have proved fatal had we just left it... kvleft.gif ...*Sigh*...A spring of some sort...

Anyways, down at t'garage now, so...Pfffft...Soooo...New car tries to kill us within a week...Hey, proper good start that, eh?... biggrin.gif ...

Sadly, it being second hand, this isn't covered by any warranty - it's wear and tear apparently - so we have to fork out again for this...

I mean, yeah, made o' money me!!...Like...Totally... indifferent.gif ...

And yes, could do with a break now...

Anyone wants me, I shall be moving to the I.S.S. for a bit...Or Mars...Yes...That'll do it...

OMG, McB! Oh, I'm so glad you found that out right away before anything bad happened! Bless your heart! It seems like if the company knowingly sold you a car that could have cost your life, that they would have to stand up and replace the car with one that is safe - the "Lemon Law" or something. Urk. I'm so sorry you had this happen! Hopefully, that will be the last issue with it then. Hug_emoticon.gif

There is already a shortage of magnificently eccentric McBadgere's in this world- and, of equal importance, McBadgere families. So to heck with the expense- I am just glad the issue made itself known before something happened. And I would be rather tempted to deliver a cart-load of dairy cow byproduct to the seller- preferably on top of their shoes... to a depth of about 4 and half feet....

Nope. But a few years ago we did take a big tree from a neighbour. The tree had fallen on our land in a storm and despite several calls to him where he simply didnīt care we eventually just took it.

But our main point of focus is the open area behind the cottage where weīre gonna build up the new tractor/ATV/excavator/trailer garage... biggrin.gif

weather's ok here. Kind-of-cold-but-not-too-cold sort of thing. I was up home for the weekend and there was a little snow there. Classic February.

The weather? Well- they were predicting "bad things" ™ to happen sometime today. So I naturally frittered (or possibly apple turnovered) the day away. My excuse was that the usual pattern around these parts is for the weather folk to say "Snow!" and everyone races to the store to buy things they don't really need- as if we will be unable to get out for weeks at a time. rolleyes.gif

And then there was also the Great Shower Rod Project, which I may describe some other time- when the scars have healed and the statute of limitations has run out...

So anyway, this all meant that, as I stepped out the door to get our normal weekly grocery run taken care of, the... material falling from the sky was... crackling. But the store is only a mile or so away, so I persisted. And there were apparently a great many other weather skeptics who had suddenly become True Believers- along with their entire families... who tend to swirl and eddy and generally get in the way of the One Thing I Need on This Aisle Thank You Very Much. (sorry- deep breaths, deep breaths).

By the time I got back to the vehicle, she had a lovely coating of ice.... But I am home now and the birds will appreciate the sunflower seeds.

I'm iced in too, but the good part is my son got iced in with me, so I don't have to worry about him being out driving in this!

Er - how do you have birds with your cat? How is this possible? Because I have a pretty heart-shaped urn on my mantle where my beloved English Budgie found out the hard way that cats and birds should not be housed together; that the squirt bottle and having their own separate rooms in the house does not stop a determined cat.
