Reading an article on MechWarrior5 in PC Gamer at the book store and it mentions that the timeline will progress in game, so eventually the Clans will make an appearance! If that is true, this game is going to be monstrously huge!

Yeah the Clans are the most interesting part of the MechWarrior universe, imo. That's said, I would happily play a MW game even if they weren't in the game.
