So far I'm loving my new PC, most of the games I care for it can play at full settings with almost no lag or issues. I'd dare say its not a low tier game PC but a good middle-high tier gaming PC. Now to download TES:Online!

Glad you are enjoying it. As for me, I’ve discovered that the cause of the random computer shut downs and restarts that I am having occasionally are the result not of overheating, but because of a bad connection from the power supply to the motherboard. Apparently it works itself just loose enough to cause a shutdown and restart. When I get this new $1400, I’m going to set aside a small portion of it to buy a new power supply. And so it begins.

Totally forgot today's time change, even though I wrote it on my wall calendar. (The calendar itself doesn't mention it, prolly because it's a British calendar.) No biggie. Breakfast was 25min later, but so what? My two desk clocks both get the time from satellite so didn't need adjustment. PC's also adjust themselves. I did need to adjust the little clock built into my toothbrush info devise, and adjust my ancient $15 wristwatch. That latter is a bit of a pain. Thankfully, I keep its instruction book in a computer desk drawer.
Will help my bro prepare taxes this afternoon. Not looking forward to that, especially during the pandemic. I could ask him to hold off until 3 weeks following my second C19 vaccination, but that would push him almost to the point of no return.
Hope I can find Distilled Water during tomorrow's grocery run. (Walmart was out last week, and said their distributor had none.) I've only a few days supply left in my current gallon carton. (I use it nightly in my CPAP unit humidifier.)

I might have given my old PC a new chance at life, as awesome as my new PC is I don't have a disk drive but my old PC still has some of my old art programs on it so now I just need a new HDMI cable and I'm good on both work and gaming.
Also I need a new monitor probably a TV as my old monitor is getting old and I need more HDMI ports.

Well, most software these days is direct download, and you can buy external drives.

Me too, though I admit I don't use my disc drive very often anymore. I can understand young PC enthusiasts who don't have an investment in older software / audio CDs / DVDs /Blu Rays etc not been keen on them. Too, one can nowadays plug external disc drives into a PC. That's the route I'll take, push come to shove. Assuming I'm around long enough to assemble another PC, that is. Won't be any time soon, GPU prices being what they are.

A screwy morning. Drove the car for the first time since having some $350US preventative maintenance done on it last week. All was well...at first. Then the car began idling in Drive roughly. Was hard to start following my first errand-stop. Same for my second stop. On the way to Walmart it began to drive roughly at slow speeds. At Walmart, in my parking space, idling roughly in Neutral, the Service Engine Soon light comes on and stays on.
I'd planned to get groceries out of the way, then stop off at my local auto shop on the drive home. With that light now on, I nixed groceries and drove straight to the auto shop. The car was examined. Can't recall exactly what was wrong...vacuum pump maybe? The mechanic said it could be fixed with an easily installed bearing. He did so. It cost me nothing.
Drove back to Walmart, bought groceries, and returned home. Almost.
The car ran well the entire trip. However...
Right after I exited the main highway for the old highway that runs through my little hick town, POOF... Service Engine Soon light comes on and stays on. Drove the short(ish) distance to our local auto shop. The car was examined. Was told nothing is wrong with it, other than that the Service Engine Soon light will always be on. This is of course unacceptable. I'd never know if/when a new issue chops up...until too late. The alternative is to replace the part they gerry-rigged earlier. It's on order. 'Should' be available sometime tomorrow. Thankfully, I don't need the car again until the end of the week. <crosses fingers>

Cars are always fun til something breaks.
I find some cars, when one thing breaks, it snowballs and ends up costing more than outright replacement.

<nods> That seems to have been the case with my brothers car. Hope it doesn't turn out that way for mine. At my age, considering how little I drive, I really don't want to shell out big bucks for a vehicle I'll likely never come close to getting my money's worth out of. I was lucky in getting my current car free-of-charge when my mom felt herself too decrepit to drive. (Which I agreed with at the time.) Scary thing is, she was, at the time, only a couple of years older than my current age. On the other hand, my favorite uncle lived into his early 90s, and never ceased driving. (He had been restricted to 'local driving' just a few months before he passed, peacefully in his sleep with no forewarning.)

When you get old eyes and ears stop working right. Most elderly I know, if they had to take the tests over again, would lose their licenses.
My FIL has cataracts and insists on driving. I'm not going anywhere with him driving. Nope.
