I'm preparing to go on something of a kindle binge again, anyone got any recommendation for good fantasy novels?
So far I'm looking at:
The Mistborn trilogy, by Brandon Sanderson
Krondor's Sons, by Raymond E. Feist
The Magicians trilogy, by Lev Grossman
and The First Law trilogy, by Joe Abercrombie
Of the books mentioned I've read only Mistborn. I'm don't gush over the series, but think it's okay. I've read a good many Feist "Midkemia" books, but the one you list doesn't ring a bell. I find the Feist series rather uneven, some titles being quite fine, some not so much. I've heard good things about the Abercrombie but never read it. The Grossman is unknown to me.
As to other fantasy recommendations, I'm not sure where to start. Sticking to more or less conventional epic fantasy books I've read and loved, these come readily to mind:
...Fionavar Tapestry, Guy Gavriel Kay (a trilogy)
...Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, Ted Williams (a four book trilogy, the final book being split in two parts, at least in the edition I own.)
...The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, Stephan Donaldson. (I'm a bit leery of recommending this series not due to any qualms of my own, but because it tends to be very polarizing, some greatly admiring it, some loathing it, and relatively few in between. That said, if you are an admirer I can easily recommend the Second Chronicles..., but NOT the much later written Last Chronicles... which I find an utter disappointment.)
I'll think on this some more and maybe post other recommendationis.
