The only ground-dwelling bees I am aware of around here are yellow-jackets, which are anything but "non-aggressive".
Growing up in the woods and working for a land-surveying company gave me way too many experiences with the little devils.
In fact, just a few summers ago, I "discovered" a nest in a rotting maple stump in the back yard when they swarmed me while I was mowing. One got me right on the side of my nose where my glasses rest.
I got a foam called Bengal and waited until well after dark to thoroughly douse the hole. Problem solved.
Honey bees, bumblebees, and even wasps (as long as they mind their own business do not give me a problem). But yellow-jackets (esp. in the fall, when overripe fruit tends to make them even more homicidal) are on my KOS list.
And where would one find this "Bengal" foamy product? Is it in a spray can? Would Home Depot carry it?
(and "OUCH" on the nose where the glasses rest!!!!)
