I did my taxes yesterday and E-Filed both Federal and State Returns. I had to pay for the State E-File, and that included taxes! Why do I have to pay a tax to pay my taxes!

Heh...TurboTax offers free Fed e-filing but paid state e-filing. I therefore snail-mail my state return. I've no problem with that except that TurboTax makes it super awkward to e-file the one but not the other. (They didn't used to do so, but something changed either last year or the year before. I complain about it in the feedback they request we submit, not that it does any good.) I help my bro with his returns. He snail-mails both. TurboTax has no problem doing it that way. Well, there is one further quirk with TurboTax return printing, but once noticed it's easily worked around.
On the subject of tax, a bit of what I consider good news. Beginning this month (Mar 2017) Amazon automatically adds state tax to orders from my state. Much much simpler than having to computer internet purchase taxes on our own and "voluntarily" mail them to the Dpt of Finance at set intervals depending on amount of tax owed. Alas, other places I sometimes order from, like NewEgg, still don't add state tax, so I'm not off the hook.
