So this Wednesday we talked to the guys who´ll work on our new open space and the driveway, and they´re coming up to work on it this morning already!!

Edit: But it doesn´t matter. They didn´t want to do all the work with the driveway if we don´t have approval from our neighbour to use the 10 cm that will be on his land (or so we think it is his land anyway). And with this I won´t be in the cottage anymore. Not even this summer. I´ll help dad on occasion if he needs it but otherwise that farm is gone as far as I´m concerned. Considering I´ll win the lottery jackpot before our neighbour is willing to help us out in any way, this was the last straw.

But hey-ho, otherwise I´m fine...

I can't help but wonder if it wasn't trying to run Elite Dangerous which overtaxed the already wonky graphics card fan...

...Which it turned out was what had gone on fire...

Got up early today and went with dad to talk to the excavationist-man. Really nice guy and you can tell he´s used to doing the work well so I´m glad he´s on it.

Oh, and you remember the road issue that ruffled my feathers? Turned out the was no problem there after all...

Today is not a happy day in our family.

I have an uncle but he doesn't live in the same town as we, so we don't see each other too often but I kept hearing that he's been feeling bad for the past four months and the previous week his wife told me that he's losing weight rapidly. As a doctor, I couldn't understand why his personal doctor doesn't send him to hospital already or at least order him some tests so I visited him on Friday and I convinced him to come to our town and sign in my office so I could take his blood tests and do additional tests. I can't believe that in the past four months his stupid doctor couldn't even once test tumor markers in his blood which I did on Friday and today I got results - the marker, specific for pancreatic cancer, is so elevated that I haven't seen it so high in any of my patients. I arranged him to be taken to a hospital immediately and while I encouraged him that everything will probably be fine, I know in myself that it's over for my uncle. Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is one of the most dangerous cancers because it gets diagnosed when it's too late, its symptoms are unspecific so it remains hidden for long. By now it probably spread to his back and gall bladder / bile ducts because he has pain in his back and has become slightly jaundiced during this weekend.

It won't help much but tomorrow his doctor will get a visit from me, because she had a chance to take these tests four months ago already and she should do it because he already lost a lot of weight, as he told me on Friday. Maybe she'll learn something for the future though I won't be nice to her, not at all. I only regret that I haven't asked him about his troubles sooner but the problem is that we saw each other rarely, besides he didn't think that it's anything important and didn't want to trouble me.

On the same note, a very good friend to our family has cancer in his prostate. Aggressive one at that, he tells us...

My deepest sympathies to your entire family, Lopov. Sympathies also to mirocu's family friend. It seems inevitable that we will all be touched by this disease in one way or another. My own father informed us on saturday that he has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Thankfully the disease has been diagnosed in the early stages and his prognosis is excellent. I wish the same could be said for your situations.

So, I bought a New 3DS last week. A definite improvement on the old 3DS, but there's only one problem with it:

You can't get screen protectors for it. You can get them for the XL, which are basically the same ones used on the 3DSXL repackaged because the old and New3DSXL are the same size. So I had to get some of them and trim a set down.

Kind of annoyed about that.
