Hehe, yup. But here it is better to carry a flashlight and not reveal the fact that it's a stun gun(yes, stun gun). It's more sneaky and it can sneak through the airport through luggage. I'm also getting pepper spray for my girl since I may not always be there to, uh, kill some predators. They never pounce when I'm around.

But anywho, man oh man I can't wait to zap stuff.

Taser story!

I was driving home from AX last year around midnight. To get from AX to my grandma's house, where I was staying the night, involves going through a sketchy area. I was a bit paranoid so I asked my husband to take out my taser while I drive. I got to my grandma's house and left the taser next to my purse and went to sleep.

My taser is also a flashlight and my grandpa just LOVES flashlights. So he saw it and got it to spark and he held it down for a while just watching the electricity. He's completely deaf, so he didn't hear the noise it made, but my super jumpy aunt sure did. I don't think I've heard her scream like that in years. Of course my grandpa got a good laugh out of it.

Got some old 70s and 80s Donald Duck comic books at the fair, as well as a comic album called Valhalla. The album I got contains three stories and the first one is about when Thor went fishing for the Midgard Serpent

Editio #2!! - Changed the oil and filter in our cars today. It always feels nice to have fresh oil flowing through

"Valhalla" is a series of comic books which they have put together in a five-volume album series. I read one of them when my dad worked at the school. I saw it, got curious and loaned it for awhile. Reading comics about the gods of my country felt so fresh, I´d never done that before. They´re really good too, very well drawn pictures

We had Floodnado here in Detroit yesterday. The funny thing is I had no idea until this morning when I went to work. It rained heavy last night by my apartment, but there was no flooding by me. Then when I was trying to drive in to work there were abandoned cars everywhere, and roads shut down all over the place. Apparently there were people taking kayaks and small boats down the interstate highways, which are still closed.

The irony is that while it was pouring yesterday I was watching Sharknado. So naturally I have been looking for dorsal fins in all the pictures of flooded areas. But there are no reports of shark-related deaths. Yet...

mirocu, I'm sure it will be stressful and take some adjusting going back to work after quite a time without a job. I so hope it goes well, that you quickly get back into the routine, have nice people that you work with and maybe the job grows on you and becomes a longer term gig for you. I know I can´t stroll around the house until I retire, I need a job...

And I do think I´ll get back into it quite fast even after all this time. I just hope there´s some decent stuff to do and decent people to talk to. If that is taken cared of I´ll be fine

I start my first day of school tomorrow. I haven't been in a school setting since I attempted Job Corps maybe five years ago.

Oh and my husband is a bit insistent that I...talk to people. And be social.

He says being a total house-mouse isn't healthy and that I need friends. Aren't books friends? >.>

It must have helped because apparently I survived my first day

The working tempo was so much slower than at my old job. It was my first day, but still. I almost spent more time talking to people than working

They don´t look at you with angry eyes if you stand and chat for a few minutes here. Back at my old place that was basically the worst thing you could do

Work was fine and people were very talkative. But still, despite everything..... I actually miss my old place which now doesn´t even exist...

It wasn´t that big of a deal to be honest. Yes, I was disappointed about ending my vacation

but I wasn´t nerve-wrecked at all about this new place

I actually slept very well and wasn´t nervous about getting in the car and drive away either. Don´t know why but I guess my years at the old place have hardened me

Also, I knew the place from when I went to school and I´m only substituting for someone but even though I should make an effort to prove myself, I don´t feel any pressure.

A good day, but tomorrow is day two....
