And here I am walking around Bruma with the snow falling while the Melbourne winter outside my house sits at 10° C and we have the heater on.

Well, since everyone is talking about their weather = ETN was so cold last night that I had to bundle up in my husband's tube socks and sweat pants with matching jacket plus with a quilt pulled over me. Today I had to wear a light jacket outside, and already tonight I've shut down the circulating fans and am under a quilt. It is COLD!!!!

Although it is handy if you have to flee a burning house. At least the fire brigade will be impressed by the coordinated outfit.

It is the warmest and softest on the inside, lol. Had to grab both pieces first or I would have had to claw them away from my husband,

I wouldn't mind some weather like that. We've had too much sun here, and one wall of the house catches it all day long. Damn thing turns into a space heater

Edit:
And now we've got a pretty heavy-duty thunderstorm kicking off, or possibly two in opposite directions. I wouldn't say it's raining, it's more like the tide's coming in.

You need an extended porch roof on that side with hanging plants or a row of Boxwood bushes along the outer edge below it - the plants absorb the heat, especially the bushes; and that little bit of shade can drop the temp in the house by a LOT.
Around this area people build them out of any materials they can find, even make just awnings out of cloth (or woven straw = thatch) - just something to shade the side the sun lays on.
Example:

Here is one just made out of painted metal which absorbs heat, but it still gives the shade needed along that house side:

Boxwood bushes grow really fast, and would block the sun and absorb the heat; or you can screen it with a colored screen too.

I've never liked the beach.
Me neither. When I was younger, I would dig my hands deep in the mushy mud and let the clams nibble at my skin, but Galveston beach has so much glass and stuff that it's hard to do that now. It's so trashy.
I do enjoy walking around sunset, searching for sand dollars and shark's teeth, though. My family has a superstition that if you found a shark's teeth, you would have a lucky month. If you found a fully intact sand dollar, you would have a blessed year. I've always nearly found a shark's teeth, but my brother would find it after I lost it, and I've only found partial sand dollars.
But open water scares me. If I can't see to the bottom, I don't want to go in. I once stepped on a flounder...twice... my mom said she's never seen me sprint up to the shore so fast in her life, lol
Then there was a time when my brother got pinched
very close to his
special man parts XD

I just get freaked out by large quantities of water. I can't even go swimming. The second I get in the water I tremble uncontrollably from head to foot, so much that my teeth chatter. Swimming lessons when I was at school were nothing short of torture for me.
Sometimes I challenge it by seeing how long I can endure standing on a bridge over the river in the park nearby.
And that last part had me wincing
