The only Mechwarrior games I've played were the two on the Xbox, and the abomination spawned for the DS.

Closest I've gotten on the 360 was Chromehounds, which was kinda fun.
MechAssault was ok, if a bit arcadey. Didn't like
MechAssault2. The
MechWarrior series games were mech simulators. You could choose your mechs' loadouts and define your role in combat. Do you want to pilot a long range fire support mech, prefer to wade in with devastating close range weapons, or have a balance of both? You also had squad members who pilot their own mechs that you can give orders to. The missions are objective based (take out this airstrip, defend that base, destroy all enemy forces, etc.) and objectives can dynamically change based on your decisions and/or changing battlefield conditions.

There is an old DOS game I used to play over at my friend's house. It's a helicopter game where you fly in a valley and shoot tanks and other helicopters. It's much fun but I can't remember what it was called.
Oh, well. Better sleep on it, I guess.

Nighty night!
