Ok after some quick looks on the interwebz:
The tree he hung himself from was Yggdrasil, because he wanted to learn runes that at the time only the Norns knew. These runes originated in the well the tree grew from. Apparently he also pierced himself with his spear during all of this.
Gee. I'm thirsty for knowledge too but I'm not sure I would go to such extremes in order to obtain it

Heh, perhaps Khajiit exaggerated when he said "lot". No doubt the early Christians, when trying to convert the Northern pagans, spun the similarities and made them more significant in an attempt to make their foreign religion more relatable.

No doubt. The early Christians appropriated quite a lot. It's amazing to think how flexible it was back then, compared to how rigid some people are today.

I've probably got another couple of months of summer, unfortunately. Usually it doesn't get this warm so early, but due to quirks of the weather we've been getting a lot of warm air coming up from the south. Really wish I lived further north

Khajiit could probably grow to like the cold. Part of the problem here is that we can't ever get acclimated to it because it may be cold one day, and then back to a comfortable temp the very next day.

According to this story Amelia Earhart's mystery might finally be solved. Instead of being abducted by aliens and taken to the Delta Quadrant, she crashed near some islands in Japanese water and was captured by Japan's army who accused her of being a spy (and since at that time I believe Japan and Nazi Germany where allies) probably executed her.

Nothing wrong with liking them. Khajiit will concede that some of their songs are funky and catchy, just not this one's particular cup o'tea.
