Thinking about going to Subway, TBH. Cold cut sounds pretty tasty.

Got some job done on the cavator today. Not much, just cleaning parts with high-pressured air and that's it. Now all I can do is wait for the mechanic and new parts and of course reinstallation.
Hopefully it'll be done this weekend
Kane
Feb 22 2017, 04:38 PM
Noice. I think I'll be doing a coolant flush on my Hyundai this weekend, if the weather holds up. Went past the 60k mark during the winter.
mirocu
Feb 22 2017, 04:45 PM
I should really do that on my car too. And also change that long belt on the engine, whatever it's called. Especially if I'm gonna have to drive every day.
Kane
Feb 22 2017, 04:48 PM
Belts are such a pain. Don't look forward to ever replacing one of those.
mirocu
Feb 22 2017, 04:51 PM
Me neither. That's why I have someone else do it

I'm still the one paying, though...
Kane
Feb 22 2017, 04:53 PM
Pays to know a good mechanic, though.
mirocu
Feb 22 2017, 04:56 PM
That's what I do and he works for free since I'm a close relative. But parts are still 'spensive.
Kane
Feb 22 2017, 04:58 PM
Indeed. That's mostly why I do stuff myself. Labor is insane for things that aren't hard if you are willing to learn.
mirocu
Feb 22 2017, 05:03 PM
But that's the problem; I'm not willing to learn sometimes!
Kane
Feb 22 2017, 05:08 PM
Believe me, I'm not either.

The cost factor is just too great sometimes, ya know? Like with my brakes; spend $80 and do them myself in an hour? Or take it to a shop and pay $250+?
I'm somewhat lazy, but also pretty cheap.
mirocu
Feb 22 2017, 05:14 PM
I have always been cheap, but my laziness overcomes that when it comes to my car
Kane
Feb 22 2017, 05:19 PM
Can't say I blame you. If I get the job I'm building up towards, I'll likely never work on my car again.
mirocu
Feb 22 2017, 05:23 PM
What job can you possibly have that is better than the one you have now? Own office, internet time during paid hours, not doing stuff you have to do because you just don't feel like it

The problem with working on your car is that you find you need a new tool that ends up costing more than the pro job. Especially with everything being computer-linked these days.

Depends on how involved you want to get. Most expensive thing I've purchased is a floor jack.

New topic: Do you think I should invest in a high-powered air rifle or another BP revolver? This is with home defense in mind.
When I can afford something, I mean. Right now I'm not really in that position.

mirocu
Feb 23 2017, 03:28 PM

Kane
Feb 23 2017, 03:30 PM
Well, I'd say pistol, since you can't get a real one.
mirocu
Feb 23 2017, 03:34 PM
I am leaning towards another BP revolver because it can actually do something. I mean, an air rifle can really mess one up as well but it really requires getting hit somewhere in the face. Not to mention, an air rifle doesn't command the same respect as something that can actually kill you with one hit.
I'd like another six shot as that will give me twelve rounds total if both are loaded. Or at least the second one will be a backup in case my first one fails.
Kane
Feb 23 2017, 03:45 PM
Dual wield black powder revolvers? Ouch.
mirocu
Feb 23 2017, 03:46 PM
Not dual wielding, just more shots since reloading takes such time. One gun at a time, though
