Got to thinking:
The truth is...
Heh, the truth is there is no such thing as truth. Not in a human sense at any rate. Because absolute truth is as far away from the human experience as it is possible to get. The truth is objective, it cannot be interpreted, because it is what it is, and can never be anything else. And yet people still think there is such a thing as truth, even though everything we see is warped by our own perceptions.
They say the eyes are the windows of the soul, but in truth they are the lenses we make to view the world through. Everything we see, we see through our perceptions, shaped by what we think, by how we think. Everything we see is subjective, and it has to be.
The truth would drive us mad.
For any person to see something truly, purely and objectively, they would need to put aside the ego. They would need to put aside everything they believe, all sense of self, and strip themself down to a non-entity. One might as well ask a seagull to present a lecture on thermodynamics. It is no more able to do so than anyone is able to remove themself from their existence.
Humanity simply isn't compatible with truth because the self forces a subjective view of everything.

My parents aren't taking the whole "atheism" thing super well. Main reason why I'm not on here as much.
Religious family, I take it?
