Oh, gee.
The rear axle on the ATV broke today. So now it's stranded out in the wood ,albeit not that far from the cottage, and we don't know how to get it home. We have an idea but we're not sure it'll work

Put it in neutral and drag it I guess?
The axle took a dive into the dirt so dragging it or towing doesn't work. Also, we're carrying timber and we can't really detach the trailer because of the setup. We'll try to tie the axle onto the ATV somehow and with the aid of the trailer's own 4WD system get it home. Hopefully it'll work.

To be fair that prefilter turns brown relatively quickly although this is a kind of a new look to me. I have had it for a bit longer than I should I think. It lasts for anywhere between 6-12 months (or 7000 liters) but I did have it for a couple more months.
It does show though that tap water here isn't as clean as you think

Just went for a drive in the dark to test out my new lights. Hard to tell with so much snow as it reflects pretty good and thus I have good visibility with just the ramp. But I couldn't see the new lights hitting high or low so I think they're pretty much centered where I want them.
Anyway; snow plowing again tomorrow and hopefully we'll get the ATV home but I'm sceptical.

So yesterday things looked very bleak. Polaris dealer said they couldn't find a replacement axle and we didn't know who else to ask so Dad and I thought we were gonna have to sieze all what we're doing. No more firewooding.
Then today I got a tip from a coworker about a guy who might be able to help us. Got his number, called Dad (yes; on work hours ) and gave it to him. When I got home he told me that yeah, this guy seemed very confident. He said there are no spare parts here but he could order the whole axle from Saki's place i.e the origin of the Polaris. Might take a month or so but who cares!?!?
