I completely agree. It has caused more stress for people that almost anything else I can think of. It's also a place where drama and extra-marital affairs begin.
Edit: Personally, I think it is a plague on society in which people voluntarily toss away their privacy.

Between playing DiD and wanting to play all the content from various different perspectives I could never make it to 2000, I wish I could though.
At least in Skyrim I have a main character. After many failed or dead characters I finally got Ravos to the point where he can't die I'll still play other characters but he'll be my main focus. In oblivion I have so many it's ridiculous
I do admire you one character players though. It's great to see the connections you have with them
Anyway, I'm thinking I'll fire up morrowind and create a character to run through the MQ. I won't play DiD because I always die in that game

To me it was never a problem or struggle to keep with only one character. When I came to Oblivion I was so used to only being able to have one character per game no matter how many times I started over. (I mainly played linear games before)
By this point I have so much record with Lothran that I simply cannot start another character. I want to keep going and I would feel lost if I abandoned him. And I canīt have two or several characters going at once either, for one I have other games I wanna play and secondly I simply am a one-character-per-game kinda guy
