Not so keen on the "preordained demise" bit. Doesn't it cheapen your apparently inevitable victory if you already know I'm going to lose, regardless of what I do? They do say "nothing ventured, nothing gained" after all, and you're not really venturing at all if you can't lose.

I mean surely there's got to be some sort of epic struggle that could go either way, with the fate of the galaxy resting on the outcome or something, otherwise, where's the fun?

I would but to be honest I can't even hold a candle to Minque's mod powers, which she has had far longer than I.

The whole 'tall mythical scary figure' thing is an old mythic trope from folklore, but the actual Slender Man, recognisable as a suited figure with the tentacly thing was create as a phenomenon in 2009, and the meme's extensively documented, not to mention credited with creation by one Victor Surge who says he made up the thing off the top of his head. The stuff about the Slenderman originating from Celtic and German folklore is something Surge included to give the 'myth' a bit of flavour, with "Der Grossman" being a bogeyman-like figure from Germanic folklore which was only introduced into the Slenderman 'mythos' after its creation. The Slenderman as you call it originated in 2009, no earlier.
