Unfortunately TV wouldn't help. The only film I've ever fallen asleep watching was Reign of Fire, an utterly abysmal film. Anything else and I will stay awake until it finishes. And I find watching TV in the morning to be a pretty effective way of clearing the cobwebs out of my head. At the moment it's the original Transformers cartoons

My mind pretty much runs at that sort of speed all the time anyway, which is why I have to try to empty my mind. Unfortunately my last attempt at using a meditation technique to clear my mind and help me sleep left me somewhere between being asleep and awake, with none of the benefits of either state.
And of course, lack of sleep means I'm getting worked up over things easier, making getting to sleep even trickier.

Edit:
Speaking of which, time to make an attempt at storming its bastion.
Night y'all
My husband has to sleep in a pitch black room with two fans going for "white noise," and the slightest movement/light/or sound will disrupt his sleep and put him into a state like you described.
Me, I always slept with a nightlight or a TV on; plus I want to sleep where I can hear every member of the family if they move (so I don't need to sprinkle flour on the floor to see if my children are sneaking out at night, or so I can jump up and fix something to eat if someone wakes up hungry in the night); and I have night blindness, so the last thing I want is to be in a completely blackened room with fans whirring.
Everyone has their own certain tricks they learn about what helps them sleep best; I think you need to test different things out and see what helps you the best.
That thread was 2 years old. Or was that 200 years old.

Why cannot I post here??
After all cross dressing is now allowed for men in Fallout 4. Woohooh!!
See, I can post nonsense here as well.

I, (for one) really like the idea of my girls wearing pants instead of being forced into skirts !!!!

Urgh, my hair is the very spirit of anarchy.
I've decided to grow it longer, don't know how long yet. It might come down to how long it gets before it becomes annoying. Thus far it's resisting all attempts to keep it under control.
Which means that I wake up looking like a reject from an anime.

You have Kobby hair! I love wild hair on someone other than me, lol. I spent half my life trying to tame my hair, and the other half trying to puff it back into being wild after I finally got it to behave, lol.
