Just got of the phone (hmm....) with my doc's office, checking about the advisability of attending this Thursday morning's long-scheduled periodic Primary Care Physician visit. The safeguards they've put in place convinced me to take the risk of showing up as planned, though I remain apprehensive. However, I'm super glad I thought to call, for an unanticipated reason. One of their safeguards is that the waiting area is closed. Patients must remain in their cars and call the front desk once parked outside. I own no cell/mobile phone. (Nor do I want one.) Mentioning this almost scuttled my visit. It was at last decided to let me come through the first entrance door, but not the second. I'll somehow get the front desk's attention. They'll sign me in, send me back to my car, then send a nurse/assistant out to get me when my time comes. (They also issue face-masks to all patients...huzzah. My jerry-rigged affair is bloody uncomfortable and, I suspect, not overly affective.)

My health center is appointment only atm. They don't want walk ins. If you need one, you have to call them first.
No waiting in the car though.

Well poot. Life is never simple for the decrepit. After contacting my doc's office yesterday to clarify how tomorrow's long-schedule periodic-check-up appointment will be handled, and getting things squared away, I'm going to need to call them again today with new info that might change things. Woke just after midnight to a prolonged (no more than a minute or two) intense coughing fit. That went away, but I've been a little 'under the weather' ever since - achy, sort of dizzy (though that's not quite right), slightly gravely throat, very slight uneasiness, in my chest, ever so slightly queasy and so on. It might mean nothing more than an ill-timed cold, or maybe a flareup of one of my periodic 'lung episodes' (which can have much these same symptoms). But nowadays it might mean something worse. I don't know if they're gonna want me visiting them tomorrow if it's the latter. Not for a standard check-in in any case. We shall see, I reckon.

Oh no Decrepit, I hope it turns out not to be Corona. Just in case, don’t take anything but acetaminophen (Tylenol) for aches, pains, and fever, as I’ve heard from a nurse buddy of mine that ibuprofen and the like can cause it to turn into phneumonia.

I am hoping it is nothing serious. I had a sore throat last month, and thankfully it turned out to be nothing. Hopefully this is just as innocuous.

Thanks for your concern

They decided to test me. Just got back from that. I'll know within 2-3 days, assuming things don't worsen markedly sooner, making it a given. On the plus side, almost all symptoms have faded. That's of course no guaranty. Plenty of people have reported suffering very light symptoms can vanish only to resurface later on much more severely.
My hope is that this is, at worst, one of my periodic 'lung/chest episodes'. Those are a pain to endure, but I always do. So far, at least. (A few of those became so severe I questioned it.) With any luck at all this will turn out to be absolutely nothing. If not for tomorrow's 'normal' medical appointment, now canceled, I'd have monitored it on my own for at least a few days before considering reporting symptoms to the authorities.
I'm to isolate myself at least until results come in. That's no biggie. I wasn't planning on leaving the house, except to check mail, until next Monday. Now, if it comes back positive, that's be a whole other matter. But we're going to hope that's not the case.

Husband likes it hot. 25 to 27 is my comfort zone, anything over that starts to get too hot.
I wear hoodies year round in some cases. I think a short sleeve or sleeveless crocheted sweater will be fine.
I prefer short sleeves though. My arms are fat.
