Gotta keep up with the one or two cringeworthy posts a day routine! laugh.gif
Callidus Thorn
Careful, you might provoke me into escalating...
mirocu
Well, my quota is filled for the day so you can relax now tongue.gif
Callidus Thorn
OR

I could retaliate... evillol.gif
mirocu
Thatīs on you then laugh.gif
Callidus Thorn
Then again, if I turn this thread into a giant cringe, it would restrict the chatting...
mirocu
You better get some tea and crumpets and think this through a bit tongue.gif
Callidus Thorn
Eh, too close to dinner time right now. I'll put off deciding until after I've eaten biggrin.gif
mirocu
Had a nice little Oblivion session today biggrin.gif

Now off to the tube of you cool.gif
Callidus Thorn
I played a little Oblivion earlier, but it was a pretty dull session(Bruma recommendation)

I'm toying with the notion of starting a Fallout game, probably New Vegas, running a tech-nut
mirocu
Then you must deal with some water vapor. Are ye prepared to do that? biggrin.gif
Callidus Thorn
Console Mirocu, console.

Steam can't stop me from gaming laugh.gif
mirocu
Oh, yeah. Consoles are a thing, arenīt they? biggrin.gif
Callidus Thorn
Yup, and they're actually my preferred platform for gaming, overall.

The only issue I have with consoles is the lack of RTS games
mirocu
Maybe you can ask someone to port Star Wars: Rebellion to the 3 and 60? laugh.gif

Callidus Thorn
Ah, the 360's old news now. But I can still get some classic RTS games for my laptop, like Total Annihilation biggrin.gif
mirocu
Donīt tell me you have -gasp- The One? blink.gif
Callidus Thorn
Heh, not a chance. I'll stick with my 360. But with the Xbox One out, that's where the new games are being made. No-one's gonna port an old game to an old console
mirocu
Do you know of that game though?
Callidus Thorn
Star Wars Rebellion?

I've heard you mention it before, but that's about it.

They do have it on GOG.com though, so I may pick it up at some point
mirocu
If you like RTS games and Star Wars, itīs great fun biggrin.gif

Maybe not for everyone, as with everything, but I liked it enough to have played 3000 sessions, both sides biggrin.gif
Callidus Thorn
Well, I certainly fit into both categories biggrin.gif

Provided its old Star Wars, of course laugh.gif

Something along those lines hehe.gif

And I have a problem.

And it's Buffy.

On the one hand, more Buffy to read is only a good thing.

On the other, I really dislike Skyrim...

Ah, the dilemma

I know what you mean - Skyrim took a long time to grow on us after OB but we wouldn't go back now. For consistency, Buffy's trappings, game mechanics and magicks more resemble Skyrim than Oblivion. That said, she uses spells from D&D, Morrowind and Oblivion as well.

The settings for her short stories may range to include Valenwood, Elsweyr, Cyrodiil and Skyrim. She has loads of fiction irons in the fire right now and most of them are outside Skyrim.

So I hope you will still by able enjoy some of her upcoming stuff. smile.gif

You mean real Star Wars laugh.gif

Yeah, it is. Itīs set right after the first movie. The Death Star has been blown up and the rebel forces are regrouping to continue the war, as do the Imperial forces.

-The underlined: ohmy.gif Do you run a lot of mods?

Well, I'll just have to read and see.

And hope it doesn't make me consider buying Skyrim laugh.gif

Hah, good point.

Sounds promising, I'll have to keep an eye on GOG.com, see if they put it on sale
mirocu
So. I gave them pics of my licenses and one of my ID.

-Can I get muh friggin ammo now, please!?? tongue.gif
Callidus Thorn
I don't know. You tell me laugh.gif
mirocu
Who knows?

Sometimes they couldnīt care less about any of that but sometimes theyīre like Gestapo - Papers, now!!
Callidus Thorn
Well it could be worse.

They could be using an uncomfortably swift delivery mechanism for the ammo rollinglaugh.gif
mirocu
And when they arrive I wouldnīt have much use of them, wherever they end up tongue.gif
Callidus Thorn
Aargh, the notion of playing Fallout is becoming more appealing, now that I think of it.

I'm such a Power Armour junkie laugh.gif
mirocu
Never used it.
Callidus Thorn
Really?

Why not?
mirocu
Couldnīt get the training Iīm tough enough so I donīt need it cool.gif
Callidus Thorn
I've played snipers that used Power Armour, need has nothing to do with it biggrin.gif

Woot! I've been waiting for our area specialist in a certain medical condition to receive her Medicare approval so that I can get the ball rolling on a certain treatment I need. Just found out she got it! It's still gonna cost me plenty but, as I understand it, not nearly as much as I would without the approval. Darn condition has been bugging me to no end for too many months. I could of course have been treated far soon, but just couldn't see myself paying for the whole darn thing on my own if there was any viable alternative, and the condition is not life threatening. Not pleasant by any means, but I can live with it . . . after a fashion.

I'll know more by the end of the week. And no, I ain't gonna spill the beans on the condition, not just yet.
mirocu
Sounds great, Decrepit! I hope you can knock at least one ailment off your list soon smile.gif

I run around 75 mods for Skyrim. Buffy is all about bow + magic + horse + exploration + dungeon crawling. So our 'needs' are different from what some may seek. For Buffy and I, unmodded Oblvion is a little better than unmodded Skyrim. But I prefer modded Skyrim to Oblivion with or without mods.

I very much dislike Skyrim's leveling system. Same with the game mechanics of hand micromanagement when it comes to blending bow + magic. If I could not modfix those detractors, I'd go back to Oblivion. But I can fix them, which allows the magnificent wild and natural 'feel' of the game to shine through. I love the 'presence' that the horses have as well as mounted archery. Love the organic feel and sound of archery. Love the tender loving care that went into crafting the beautiful and varied dungeons.

When I had Oblivion on my old laptop I only had at most a dozen, you must have rebuilt half the game by now. laugh.gif
