That it is. At it turns out we did without a relatively short time. After a liquidless supper I brushed my teeth, then prepared to gargle with mouthwash sans two required water pre-gargles. As I unscrewed the gargle bottle cap I heard a soft gurgling sound. (From the commode?????) On a hunch I turned on the bathroom sink faucet. Got a blast of dirty water, followed by a more or less steady flow of hopefully clean water. (It looks and smells okay.)
In case water was not restored, I had set two glasses of ice-cubes on the kitchen counter with the idea enough would thaw to make oatmeal tomorrow morning. Those are back in the freezer now.
I was going to suggest killing someone and drinking their blood as an alternative to water. But apparently that is no longer necessary. Still, something to keep in mind for the future...
