Ah, the dilemma. As much as I love DA:O, the story just feels more restrictive than I'd like right now. Which leaves me a choice between my two TES games. This might come down to a coin flip

Go to
Oblivion!

And that's where the dilemma kicks in.
Oblivion is
Oblivion, and has better magic, guilds, and places to explore that don't have inexplicable backdoors. Skyrim has better looking weapons, armour, and clothes(Skyrim's kind of spoilt me on that front

), and two addons that I've not even gotten around to checking out properly.
I'm leaning towards Skyrim, just because of Dragonborn.
Between the two, that's the one Khajiit would choose. This is going to be heresy for these parts, but the last time this one tried to play
Oblivion, he just couldn't get into it.
Skyrim is a game that irritates me. So many good ideas, so many bad ideas, and so many half-arsed implementations of both. I love the system of equipping to hands, but hate the absurd restriction regarding two-handed weapons. I love the presentation of magic and dual-casting, but hate the limitations of the system and the shortage of spells. I love the addition of perks, but hate that they are structured into trees. The inconsistency is maddening.
Oblivion is a game I find far more comfortable to play than Skyrim, and that I consider to be superior to Skyrim. But now so much of it feels a bit off. The armour seems gaudy, the colours just that little bit too bright, the magic a little too bland(for all it's variety and flexibility) in its presentation. A host of minor irritants that I never even noticed before, and I just can't seem to find a character that fits enough to let me get past those.

Edit: And I always end up with the same decision to make when it comes to TES games. Mage-archer, Sorcerer, or Battlemage/Spellsword.
