Yep, a radioactive spider. It gave him all the other stuff, but not the webbing for some reason.
I always rather liked that, just because it meant he was a superhero with a flaw, a weakness. The cartridges of artificial webbing he used occasionaly ran out at very bad times.
Oddly interesting. I had no idea about any of this, although I don't claim to be much of a comic book fan. I did once work for a man that had over $100,000 worth of comic books hidden away in a secret room of his house. It was pretty intense seeing someone spend that kind of money on books. Then again I spend lots on knives and firearms so I guess it isn't too crazy.
I'm no comic book fan either. But I remembered it from the old cartonns, and went googling.

I do remember the old cartoon now when you talk about it. I always thought it was cheap that he used technology for the webb

But aside from that he doesnīt rely on technology entirely then and if he still had his spidersense, strength, agility and all that I guess I still consider him a real superhero. Though I do think he could just as well have been anything else than Spiderman. That webb is so characteristic and if he has precognition, strength and agility he could have been Tractorman or something

Yeah, he's definitely a superhero, but one of the odd ones.
But I prefer the old Spiderman with the techno webbing, because that's something he made, not something he got by chance. Puts him one up on some of the other superheroes in my opinion.
