In other news, I've just written what might be one of the coolest things yet into my novel, that being the paradox revolver, a revolver that kills its targets before you pull the trigger. Because hells yeah.
So... what happens when you pull the trigger?

I'm guessing the gun fires and the universe doesn't cease to exist.
That, basically. Causality will basically force the barrel into the right position for a hit.

AT&T will no longer be my service provider.
Alongside the fact that my other company is now taking it's sweet time in addressing my immediate issue;there being some unknown variable blocking my signal from the main box to my place, I am currently without connection through them. And with the Holiday fast approaching, I doubt they'll muster their forces this week either.
That being said, my friend the 'Fixer' has bequeathed his 4G 'Wireless' connection to me...it's like a hotspot..but for your house. So I'll have a tentative, slow and constantly losing signal for the short term.
But, I have a connection finally.

Sort of. But no. Apparently people, as I've said several times, who have been put to help out in electronics for the holidays either quit the first week or promptly after December. It's not a hard job, it's just frustrating because the sheer amount of volume of stuff we get is intimidating. Not to mention we have to be there at four in the morning. But that means earlier home.
I have issues with stomach cramping when I'm stressed. Sometimes I'll wake up, doubled over in pain and screaming because it's so bad. I've been to a specialist and as far as anyone can tell, it's stress. I'm not testing positive for anything. My family has abhistory of abdominal issues, so it's no surprise. It just means I need to lower my stress levels, and luckily that can be learned without medicine.

I've been working on a big programming assignment lately, due tonight.
I spent most of the weekend banging my head against a wall trying to figure out one issue, object shading. To do object shading, I needed to calculate some vectors and transform them to another coordinate system. This afternoon it finally came together. Then I decided to try for some offered extra credit. Something went horribly wrong and I thought I totally broke the program.
40 minutes of panic later, it's working and submitted.

Actually we do live in a democracy. Unfortunately democracy is just another means of controlling the masses, fooling them into thinking they have an actual say in things. In reality those in power give the people a few options to choose from, but functionally it's like having a monarch with identical triplets, and being asked to choose which one you want to take the throne.

I don't think most people see the lies, not really. They're just a blur in the background of social networking and which celebrities doing what and what's happening in crappy reality tv shows or soap operas. And many powerful and wealthy people have invested a great deal of money in ensuring that.

I think Finland has a system like that, where everyone gets to vote on everything.
But the biggest obstacle to true democracy, in my opinion, is that so many people just don't care, or at least don't care enough. They just accept things as they are and go back to their distractions. They just want someone else to take care of it, and don't really care how.
