I usually never go to the hospital. I've gotten cuts and injuries that were inches deep and simply disinfected it and glued it shut with liquid stitches.

People are probably smarter to go to the hospital, I was just raised to be as self reliant as possible. KOB is probably much better off checking in with trained medical professionals.
Maybe Liz can confirm- but not going to the hospital almost seems like a "Southern" thing. The rule around my house was- "If you can stop the bleeding--- eventually--- it does not need stitches."
Which (because I was active- but also klutzy) caused some memorable adventures later in life with various forms of makeshift bandaging materials. (Packing tape and paper towels work a treat on sliced fingers- just don't wrap the tape too tight).
If I need a tournequet or see bones, that's when I go. Half joking.
