It's an hour drive there and back and I just don't have the gas to make that trip often. I feel horrible aboutbit, but so can't afford a daycare.

Nope. Daycare is $300 a month. And that's cheap. And not including weekends.

As for myself, that's debatable. There's another store manager here and I didn't get up early like I was supposed to to clean. I did what I could, but the store still looks like crap. It looks better, bit still like crap. Just slightly more attractive crap.
Sorted my gap year, and am now so damn excited! Month of studying Taekwondo in South Korea, then on to touring Australia, and after that it's time for some hiking and adventure sports in New Zealand.

That sounds outstanding, Mustard. I confess I've lost track of when the gap occurs. Between college and grad school/job? I'm very, very jealous about the New Zealand part. In fact it might be some time before I can get over it and like you again. 
In other news, I've discovered another unexpected cost of child-rearing. Bandages. Gauze, wraps, band-aids, the works. The Boy left a fair amount of skin on the ground at school last week. He still looks like the mummy.

I've had to use ice cream bars in an emergency once when my son's skateboard tripped on a chain at a flea market and he flew into a pole. In seconds his face grew over 3 inches on one side and turned purple. I've never been so freaked out in my life, lucky for me there were two grandmothers running the store there that instantly yanked open their ice cream cooler and started applying them. By the time the ambulance came he looked almost normal again. (he got to eat one to stop crying too).

Yikes! I left a good amount in a parking lot a few weeks ago. Not related to having too much to drink at a party, I assure you.
