Just found out my cousin was in a car accident at two this morning. Someone rammer her car into a pole and split it in half. She's in critical condition right now. I haven't heard anything else.

Her face is mangled, she's losing her left eye, she may lose an arm and a leg, and she's not guaranteed to ever wake up. She's nineteen with a two year old. I'm... I don't know. Only her mom has seen her, and she's saying it's unbearable to see her that way. Ny stepmom is seeingbher today, and will judge if any of us kids can take seeing her like that.

I wanna say I'm an adult, but she's my stepmom, and knows me.

I haven't heard anything about him yet. Last I heard he was being checked for being intoxicated, since it was 2 am.

Just got word that he was drunk. Now we're all wondering why she was out at 2 AM. My sister and cousins aren't like me, they like to go out with friends and do stuff and stay out all night, whereas I like to stay in. They get into all sorts of trouble, but...god. She was ejected from her seat and flew six feet from her car.

She was the passenger in the car, not the driver. She was with a man (no one will tell me who it was, but most likely a boyfriend or the father of her child)

Update on my cousin: She's being kept sedated now. she did wake up, thankfully. she has broke ribs, punctured lung, a fractured eye socket, and an artery in her face is pinched so there's not a lot of blood flowing to that side, but the other side is fine. We're waiting on word for the surgery.

That's good she's alive. I hope they can help her somehow...

I'm heading to see her tomorrow. My son was just picked up by my brother in law to spend the weekend with his nana and them so I won't have to worry about a three year old in a hospital.

Also have not heard about surgery on her arm, but her gallbladder was removed and there was some concern about her spleen, but it looks like the traumed to her internal organs, besides getting the gallbladder removed, wasn't as bad as everyone feared. she's responding now, but they're keeping the neck brace on because her jaw is broken and she has no control over it.

Also, apparently "half of her face is gone" also means "She might not be able to move half her face due to nerve damage" in my family. She pretty much landed and skidded on her right side, but my stepmom says her face IS intact, it just looks like she got into a boxing match and lost.

They're optimistic about her leg, but not her arm. She has a really long road to recovery ahead of her. Thanks everyone for the PMs of assurance, understanding, and the hugs and love and puppy pictures. Thanks for cheering me up and making sure I'm alright. It really touches me that there is so much concern over this.

I'm glad to hear she should be alright. I hope she can recover fully.

Great news given the situation. Especially good to hear that her condition is not as grave as you first thought. Hope she continues improvement. I'm thankful for modern medicine and major advancements in the medical field that drastically increase your chances of living a normal life and recovering after an accident.

Oh they did. Turns out he was a coworker she liked, and had gotten tossed in jail before for drag racing.
