Thank you.

Yes, I guess I didn't really think about that when I typed it--maybe what I meant to say was, "if three year olds ruled the world, there would be even more chaos!!" Of course, many of the leaders today certainly act like three year olds sometimes, it seem...

Lady Syl - little ones are precious - some of the time. I'm with Mary Shannon (from
In Plain Sight on this one - kids are better left to someone other than me.

Hopefully you're all better now!
An update - the abscess on my elbow is finally resolved. I'm left with a lovely red and purple bruise, a little bit of puffiness where the skin hasn't quite reattached to the underlying tissue, and stiffness in my elbow that prevents me from full flexion. Went to the orthoped yesterday, and he was very happy with the way things went. I'm done with antibiotics and with seeing doctors for the time being. He did tell me to keep flexing the elbow until I get full range of motion back, and already I'm seeing improvement daily. The stiffness will likely resolve before the discoloration does, but that's good. I'd rather have function back before looks, know what I mean?
Oh, and I've finished finals today. Here's hoping I did well. Amazingly enough, in spite of all the computer problems and elbow problems I've had the past four weeks, I've managed to keep my grades up around 97% We'll see how final exams affect the final score, though.

Excitement as Casa Treydog yesterday evening. Lights flickered briefly and I teased Mrs. Treydog about throwin a toaster in the bathtub.
She said- "Nope. Lightning."
I looked out and saw very dark clouds and wind really whipping the trees. A few minutes later- three loud thumps on the roof.
Trunk of willow tree had snapped off about 20 feet above the ground- and was lying across the roof. When I inspected this morning, a second smaller piece had also broken higher up from another section.
Roof does not appear damaged- the tree was kind dying back anyway- so less weight. May send pictures if I can get decent ones.
Chain saws and ladders for me this weekend. Woo Hoo.

The good thing(s) about it- the tree was a willow- thus not as dense or heavy as some, plus it was dying back, and finally- the section of roof is at least over the garage...

Congrats TK, I hope it runs smoothly. A new computer is always a fun thing to have. But then they become old computers...
And yes irn bru isn't availible in most countries (due to several of the chemicals in it being poisonous, carcinogenic or making children bounce off walls). Apparently the Russian version is more or less identical to the real stuff, which makes sense seeing as it serves the varied purposes of refreshment, utterly masking the flavour of added alcohol and hangover cure.
Anyway anything that orange must be healthy...

If you're ever in Scotland it's worth a try, though a bit like the deep dried marsbar/pizza/pie it's not going to mark Scotland on the map for food (now heart disease on the other hand...)
Frankly it always amazes me how every country has some food which it's massively proud of despite anyone who didn't grow up with it hating it.

I've had this computer for about two and a half years and I've managed to keep it in pretty good shape. The only bad thing is the hardware. It can run most games available but not anywhere near as smooth as I'd like it to do. It will certainly not be able to run Skyrim or Battlefield 3. I've been thinking of getting a new one but I'm not going to bother. 1000+ dollars for a computer only to be able to run 3-4 games? Nah, I'll just get them for the 360 instead. And on the bright side, if I would get Skyrim for the PC I'd probably cheat like hell.
