xD

I myself live in South Texas, so the weather is...weird, although when it get's in the 60's everyone is huddle up in jackets...darn winter texans though, When it's in the 50's you can pick out who the Winter Texans are because they are wearing shorts and a t-shirt while everyone else is a ball of jackets. xD

What I mean when I say the weather is weird is that, in the morning it could be freaking cold then in the afternoon it can jump to the 90s, or vice vera.

Hehe, got a similar situation with our Swedish friends over in the UK. I'll be in a full jacket, gloves, scarf and everything and they'll (maybe) be wearing a jumper, and saying that it's rather fine weather at about 0*C (no idea what that is in Farenheit, I'm afraid; never quite managed to wrap my head around that). Damn them.

McBadgere: Yep, it's something like that. On the plus side, school usually gets shut down, so it's not all bad. tongue.gif
McBadgere
32 Farenheit...

It's the same with kids though...

I'm sat here in several layers and the boy's wandering around in jeans, t-shirt and long sleeved top...

"Can I take this top off?"

"Why?" huh.gif ...

"I'm too hot..."

What the?... blink.gif ...
minque
Ok so what's wrong with old Mr Celsius? Here in Skyrim..ehh Sweden its about -10 to 14 degrees celsius! That is hmmm a bit chilly I'd say, but not unbearable if dress properly
McBadgere
I like Celcius...I mean, I remember Centigrade...Good old centigrade...And then they went to Celcius which I thought was such an ugly word for some reason...

But yeah, smaller number...

30 celcius is far more civilised than 100 farenheit... laugh.gif tongue.gif ...

Sooo, as I was saying Mustard..."IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!"... laugh.gif ...

Get stuck then?... tongue.gif ...

Here in Music City it is the same as London it sounds like, if one flake falls schools shut down, but then if it really 'does' something do not get out on the road unless you have a death wish. I have no problem driving in snow, I've been doing it since I started driving but these idiots around here act like it's a day at the beach...literally. Last winter I was in my daughters car (I let her take my vehicle because it is much better in the snow and ice) the wind was blowing so hard and the road so slick that sitting at a red light the wind pushed me into the other lane...anyway, I was on the interstate going home. I was traveling about 40mph (which in all truth was probably too fast) and this person in an SUV blew by me like I was parked. All that was missing was him saying "Watch this!" so I took my foot off the gas because I knew what was coming...about 3 or 4 car lengths in front of me was a nice thick patch of ice and he hit it. That SUV bounced back and forth off the concrete barrier a half dozen times before he finally bounced to a stop on the shoulder of the interstate. I was going to stop and make sure he was ok but he opened the door and got out, air bag dust going everywhere, no one else in the car. So, I just kept going, dumb a**...oh, he was from Kentucky...go figure. (If he had been bleeding or limping I would have stopped, really)

Enjoy the time off Olen! Wrap up and have a cup o' tea....

I would have only stopped if he was missing a limb, emot-ninja1.gif Or if he was good looking xD

I myself have only seen snow once, when I lived in Iowa for a couple of months, what was freaking weird is that here in South Texas I get sick rather fast here, but out there in the snow, well let's just say that I was outside barefoot, in shorts and a regular tshirt yet I never got sick :3

Oh and Tea! I love tea, I prefer Green Tea though :3

21-17 Giants!

As soon as I can, I intend to write a "Song of Eli the Dragonborn" in the Dovah language as soon as I have the time. Tom Coughlin is our Arngeir the Greybeard (he shaves when descending from High Hrothgar and doesn't let himself shout too loud to preserve the rest of us mortals) and Eli's defeat of Aaron Rogers was the last dragon slain to power his throwing arm.

I'd like to point out that I think Bill Belichick might be a lost Dragon Priest. And Brady is my equivalent of a Thalmor Justicar. Heck, "Bel-lii-chik" could be Dovah for "Cheater-Video-Watcher!"

*Disclaimer: I am a stalwart New York sports fan, and do not like Belichick or the Patriots. This may influence my opinion, but as I find my biases to usually be objectively justified, my biases are technically "reasonable view-points of John Q. Public."

My internet was going freaking slow, So I checked and someone else was leeching of it, well I just went and put a password on it biggrin.gif
I can imagine how they feel though, "Yay finally someone around here has unprotected inter.....NOOOOOO!!!"

I feel the same way every time Rusty Wallace loses a race. (or dare I say ... every time Peyton Manning misses a pass...)

This entire thread of conversation was a load of complete gibberish to me until a friend of mine mentioned that there'd been the superbowl on.

Such is the price of being British (and therefore classy and awesome tongue.gif)

Haha, I'm a American yet the superbowl bores me xD, so it was also filled with gibberish for me :3, as was to busy watching cartoons when it came on.
ghastley
Et tu Brute?

No, wait, that's Latin, not English (note the capital letter to show it's not the variety spoken by colonials).

Anyway what is this Superb Owl of which they write? And why are all those padded men milling around looking for it?
Olen
At least it's a distraction from the dreadful 6 nations games this weekend. Ireland Wales was ok but the Calcutta Cup was just boring. England played frankly badly, Scotland didn't really play at all. Not sure how much more I'm going to watch after that (except super saturday).

There Mustard, that should be similarly confusing to those who understand Superb Owls and the giants who look for them. wink.gif
King Coin
I didn't watch either, though I was happy when it came on. Work was easy with hardly anyone around. I read a magazine and got paid to do it.
McBadgere
Lol... biggrin.gif ...

I was going to record it, simply because I like the analysts they have on the UK broadcast.

Sadly, the start clashed with the end of NCIS: LA so I didn't bother... laugh.gif ...

Hey there everyone.

I wasn't sure where to write this so I thought here would be fine smile.gif

I just thought I'd say hello and tell everyone that I'm back.

I had fallen pretty seriously ill over the past couple of months and have been bed ridden for a long time, but I'm back now and will be returning to Lissa's story, as well as reading all of yours!

I hope you are all well!

A status report from Grits World:

I’ve been for the first two spine injections, the less said about that the better. Lift with your legs, people. The spine doc is great. Unfortunately in his greatness he discovered that my regular doc had been optimistic. One of the discs is torn, and the other issues that showed up on the MRI really do need to be addressed, dammit. So I’ve been a little distracted with that, hurting from the shots, and getting over the medication that caused some crazy side effects. So my posting has been erratic. That will happen again. I’m supposed to go back in two weeks for two more shots. Scratch that, I am going back in two weeks. I am not hiding, running away, or changing my name to avoid it.

But if anyone comes up with a better plan, I just might try it!!

Acadian
Oh best wishes Grits! I hope you are able to find some relief and comfort before progressing too far up the invasive chain.

Have you considered a third opinion from Abiene?

Please know we will be eagerly awaiting updates on both you and your magical gang of characters that inhabit Jerric's world. I know that you will continue the tale as you are able - if merely to avoid crossing Lildereth.

Seriously, get better my friend! smile.gif
treydog
Whut Acadian said!

Also- DO look for a GOOD physical therapist. Done properly, PT can help without surgery.

Holding good thoughts for you- all the more because I have been having twinges in my neck and shoulders again.

After my car accident I went to the Orthopedic surgeon that handles all the sports/athletes in town. They are the best you can find. If there is a college near you that has a football team - find out where they go for injuries.
Athynae
Oh my goodness Grits...I hate to hear that but I second everything Trey and mALX said, both ideas are golden...

Please take care of yourself, be very careful....I TOTALLY understand the pain you are in and that is something I would not wish on anyone...

Lol, I don't care what color the cup is, but it needs to be giant and thermal so the coffee stays hot, lol.

Aww hell Grits... ohmy.gif ...

Robert has back problem that occaisionally flares up and knows it's bad...But is in no way that bad... sad.gif ...

Get well as soon as...I know back stuff does take ages... kvright.gif ...

That last sentence was not as comforting as was first thought... laugh.gif ...
Olen
That sounds a bit nasty Grits, have some cake. cake.gif It's always nasty when you have to go back to the docs to have something unpleasant done again. It's not as bad as you think it is though, just try not to let your mind build it up into something worse than it is.

And of course we'll all be waiting for more Jerric when you recover enough, I might even have caught up...
Grits
Oh my gosh, free coffee and cake deserves Red Cup deployment!! biggrin.gif Thank you, wonderful friends. You make me smile.

treydog, yikes. May the twinges recede and never return. PT starts again next week, and this time I will avoid the crazy umbrella seller who had me doing planks. blink.gif

lol Olen, and you’re so right. A procedure room is a bad place to have a vivid imagination. I’m so glad you’re reading Jerric! smile.gif

ghastley
At least they've found something they can treat. There's nothing worse than endless uncomfortable tests that don't move anything along (other than eliminating one possibility).

Oh, and lifting should always be done using someone else's legs. nono.gif
Athynae
I do believe Ghastley has the right idea...let someone else do it... biggrin.gif

One giant RED cup of coffee for Grits and a piece of cake.gif please...and hurry up with that would ya!? She's got things to do this week!

Best of luck with everything Grits, I'll be thinking good thoughts in your direction.

The funeral was yesterday, I got home and slept all day, but I still feel really tired and all of my body hurts.
Well at least my grandma is resting smile.gif

She is. Now you do all you can to remember the good things, forget any bad things (if there are any) and do not let the way anyone else is acting affect the way YOU feel... smile.gif You smile for her, and your Mom... wink.gif
