Jfc of course I made that mistake 😂😂😂😂 but yeah I meant Kobby.

Snuggles has been doing fairly well. He's picked up an attitude and is very dramatic but he gets that from me lmfao

But yeah, I think about everyone almost every day. Had an ache. Figured I'd stop by, maybe show my Fallout fic and get some motivation to finish it.

Well thank you :]

How have things been on your end? Should we move this to PM?

Liz, welcome back! I know you were greatly missed by many of us here at Chorrol! And the problems you describe are quite serious, I’m glad you’re working on addressing them. I have a cousin who has been struggling for years with bipolar syndrome, and he never would admit he needed help. Today he is in a nursing home due to complications from diabetes causing deteriorating vision and gangrene in his extremities, and his bipolar has interfered with his ability to make good healthcare decisions. He is now paying the price, as is my aunt (who has recently been diagnosed with dementia and is now in a memory care facility). I’ve watched bipolar syndrome steal a fun loving, caring, kind man away from us over the years, and I’m grateful that you are fighting this as hard as you can, and that you have a good suppport system in your marriage. Please consider us your secondary support system as well, we are always here . . .

This is a great day. Extending Thanksgiving, to be sure. The toast "absent friends" most definitely included you- and now- here you are!

Welcome- you have been missed.

I feel for your cousin. I felt, at best, apathetic. At worst, like the color had gone from the world. I despaired. I lived in it. I made my home in it. The breaking point was when I realized I was(literally) walking into the woods and leaving my kid behind. Too many suicide attempts to count. I walked into the psychiatric facility in my county and begged for help. Literally broke down crying.

Color has come back. I'm eating again, I have friends I see on a daily basis. I got counseling. Much, much needed counseling. I made a vow to always be explicit in what I'm feeling. No more beating around the bush.

I'm glad I wasn't shunned. I really missed y'all.

mALX, I know that is very disruptive when a car gets totalled. Glad your son is okay. I hope the replacement car helps settle things back to normal. smile.gif

Lopov
Good choice of a car and all the best to your son. In the end it's good as long as nobody is hurt even if a car gets totaled. Still, it's a very unpleasant situation to solve.
treydog
That car is definitely Treydog approved! tongue.gif

My 1999 Mazda pickup is still going strong after 350,000 miles and two major crashes (one rollover and one getting slammed from behind by a medical supply van).

Glad your son is okay- as noted, that is what matters most.
mALX

@ Lopov - you are exactly right; well said.

@ Treydoggie = TREYDOGGIE !!!!!!

The car he he totalled was my old 2005 Mazda that I bought as a "Demo" car; so it was well loaded in miles even though it was still 2005 when I got it. I loved it; and couldn't think of a better car for him to have as a first car to learn how to drive in, etc. So when I inherited my Mom's car; I gave my son my Mazda. He loved it too; and was really depressed to have to lose it this way.

I walked out of my apartment a few hours ago to get a salad, and there were police everywhere. The part of the parking lot where my Jeep is was cordoned off with police tape. They let me take it to get lunch, but took my plate number before they let me go. When I asked what was going on, they would not say.

But given the amount of cops, it had to be a shooting. I saw one cop pulling a metal detector out of a police cruiser. That immediately made me think of looking for spent brass. I just looked at a local new site, and this is what I saw. That silver suv in the middle of the picture is right next to where I park. There is a white tent behind the parking lot, to the left. I think it must have happened there.

I have no idea who it was yet. The police are not giving out any info. This is why I own a gun.

Gotta admit I didn't enjoy Spaceballs in the least. Young Frankenstein, yes. Blazing Saddles, yes, though I'm not as big a fan as many. The Mel Brooks directed film that might well be my favorite is one that doesn't get talked about a lot, 1970's "The Twelve Chairs." It's set in Russia following the Revolution, with a former aristocrat attempting recover something of his family's fortune, hidden in...well, the name says it all. Thing I like about this one is that besides the slapstick and goofiness it has "heart." I even tolerate Dom Deluise presence more than in many of his other roles. It seems to fit in better here. Still an obnoxious jerk, but that's Dom.

When composing the above I visited Wikipedia to verify The Twelve Chair's release date. The article listed all Brooks' films with their Rotten Tomato ratings. I was surprised and pleased to see that while Young Frankenstein topped the list with a rating of "93," The Twelve Chairs" came in a very close second at "92."

I can't believe there is a Mel Brooks I haven't seen, but this is it. Going to hunt through NetFlix for it! I also love Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles (in that order) - but let's not forget History of the World, Part I; which is another of my all time favorites!

I liked "Silent Movie" - with Marcel Marceau's famous speaking part.
