Oh yeah, and it's the wife's fault that his name is Merlin...After the bird of prey allegedly...I left it to

My Ex, (now passed, bless his soul) - wanted to name my older boy - I finally had to put my foot down because of some of the outlandish names he was coming up with. I finally told him to make a list of names he wanted, and I would choose one from the list. That is how he got his name, and it is still ... unusual.

The only thing weird about the youngest ones name is he has 3, plus his sir name. Had to cover all the grands so we didn't hurt anyone's feelings...here's the thing though, my eldest is named after my grandmother who passed when I was 12 who was soft spoken and wise and she is JUST LIKE her!!

My eldest son is named after one of his father's grandfathers and he is JUST LIKE him or so they tell me. The 12 year old girl is as feisty and quick tempered as my great grandmother who was all of 4' 6" but you DID NOT want to get in her way.

So that brings us to the youngest, prior history should have warned me. He is named after both of his Dad's grandfathers who were, shall we say, quite colorful in their own right, and my Dad, who was wild as h***, just an example, he ran 'shine on an Indian motorcycle in the saddle bags in the '40's. (See you all didn't believe me when I told you I was old, huh?) WHAT WAS I THINKING????

Yep he's just like them,

ALL of them, rolled into one compact version, all of them were over 6 feet tall, he might be 5'6" when he's grown, but I doubt it.
YIPPEE Colonel!!! I'm not free but I don't cost, nevermind, CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hilarious. I love the Coffee Shop!
Mr. Grits has been in charge of the laundry for some time now, which results in critical shortages pretty regularly. Today I experienced a shortage of things that are not purple. So I put together my best options: lavender shirt, plum floppy pants, and Crocs in a shade I call “some kind of grape candy.” I
hobbled strolled majestically into the presence of the family and announced, “I am a symphony in purple.” They are still laughing at me.
I decided that I may still be moving like a ninety year old woman after four months of argh, but at least I’m like a ninety year old woman who is
queen of something, dammit.
Also today was the last day of medication, and hopefully the end of feeling deranged. Test results are good so far, no –emias or –omas. (The MRI turned up some surprises. That's why I didn't want to have one!!) Still no real answers, other than two herniated discs, that’s why it hurts. More doctors next week. Turns out I’ve already encountered the spine doc during an elevator incident at her building. Funny.
Oh, I remember what I was saying. We had the Christmas Pants, and now we have the Purple Pants of Optimism.

I used to be the same way. I would drink it black and hate the taste,
but I didn't want to put the time and effort to mix in the sugar and cream/milk. Especially when the sugar container by the coffee pot was empty and I would have to go
all the way to the pantry to get more.

@ Athynae - I'll be scouring the NW looking for shirtless men from the Native American Male Calendar - Michael Greyeyes, Kalani Queypo, Rick Mora, etc. And Destri if you are reading this - yes, it's an androgyny-fest, lol.
@ Fawkes - That is so cool, and I'll bet you're a great Uncle. Don't fret about coming out, usually by the time you reach 17-18 your family has it figured out so telling is just a formality.
@ King Coin - you had me in hysterics being too lazy to add cream and sugar - face it, KC - you need a personal assistant to bring you your coffee mixed the way you like it. Keep that in mind when shooting for your career goals, find a position that comes with a well trained personal assistant, ROFL !!

@mALX- Keep me posted on what you find, I might want to take a look too...
@Fawkes- Yep to what she said.
@KC- Don't feel strange about that one, some days getting the coffee down before someone's life is threatened is far more important than flavoring...I'm right there with ya on that one.

Thank goodness for the trees. I was pleased to discover that if the satellites passed over while I was bending to pull weeds in the garden, only the squirrels could tell about it. “Visible from space” is not something I’m ready to own up to!! But congratulations to
you, Robert!

KC, omg. I am still laughing about the empty sugar bowl.
Fawkes, your coffee sounds like melted ice cream. What's not to love about that?

Wow quite a few happenings.
Congrats Athynae on the grandchild. You do realise that now one night when the moon is full you will take up drinking sherry and knitting

Well my mother did after my brother's first anyway, though the kids at home might offer some resistance to that.
Everyone seems to like their coffee different. I think you can't beat a
moka pot for a good cup. Strong and black with some tablet (a scottish sweet, not dissimilar from fudge) on the side... I used to like it white, but I'm with KC on this one - milk and sugar are too much effort when I need a coffee and it's not really worth putting skimmed in it anyway.
Fawkes, coming out isn't pleasant but it's a massive weight off your mind once you've done it. No one really cares anyway these days.
