Well, I am moving to Brazil in two months for a few years. Family buisness is growing and I'm called to get involved. I'm excited. Never liked America too much anyways, despite me being born here in the US.

Lol! Enjoy Brazil, DE. Soon to be one of the world's next superpowers, speaking that language which sounds oddly like Spanish, only not, and host to the Rainforests that produce 25% of the worlds Oxygen.

I don't care for Los Angeles in particular, and with the fact my phone calls from five years ago that I wouldn't even recall are on file with our regulatory entity apparently, I'd have to say I'm a bit disillusioned myself.

May your profits be large, and your mujeres caliente!

(I don't speak Portuguese...clearly.)

Good luck with the move, DE. Does this mean you'll go straight into a second summer?

US and Brazil have good connections. Things are looking up for the country. You're right about it being similar to spanish. Many words are the same.

Yes, my friend, my mulheres will be be very quente! It has been said that the city of Belo Horizonte has seven beautiful women for each guy. The population is big. But I'm going to be moving back to a town two hours from the city.

Here are some pictures of the city/farmlands. I think it is a beautiful place. Since I loved nature as a boy, I might want to go back to old habits.

Ah, gotta love life. My son is four days old and my wife will be off of work for six weeks unpaid, at which time we'll be living off of my extremely small amount of income. I've accepted that I'll be eating Ramen noodles and other various extremely cheap, unsatisfying foods for many months.

After work to unwind, I play video games on my 55" flat screen, which has been a massive pain in the backside and has been repaired twice already under warranty. Unfortunately it is no longer under warranty and the pristine example of excrement manufactured by Sanyo has given out on me once again.

Just venting a bit because I'm extremely stressed out. A combination of my tv are video games are my only escape from reality and now I have no access to either of them.

I just love it that my tv waited until my son was born to give out. A couple weeks ago when we were both working it wouldn't have been a big deal. Now I'm guaranteed to be without a tv for months.

What we did was we went to garage sales and talked their prices down. Sure, we ended up with one of those giant, bulky tvs that takes up half the room, but it was a TV.

There's also freecycle.org, where you type in where you live and it searches for what you want. It's all free. all you have to do is be willing to pick it up.

First let me say that Grits, the Mister, and the Youngers are all fine. But there’s been an ongoing horrendous situation in Grits World that promises to get much, much worse for quite a long time. I’m mentioning this in case I’ve seemed a little off lately, or if I take a little longer to respond to PMs. (Or forget entirely. It’s not you, it’s me.)

This is a warm, caring community, and I do not want to cause a big fuss with personal drama. I don’t need anything or plan to disappear, I’m just adjusting to a new normal. These things happen if you live long enough. I don’t want to talk about it (really, I don’t), but I thought I should bring it up rather than accidentally behaving like an ass with no apparent reason.

So, now that I have a reason… Nah, I still don’t want to misbehave. smile.gif

I just briefly skimmed through the more recent posts. Lots of stuff happening. I am about to add to it...LOL. RL is kicking my shiney white hiney recently, so that is why I have not been reading or posting. ThatSkyrimWife has recovered from her surgery and I have recovered (for the most part) with having to put my cat down. But work has gone in the crapper and has required me to take a second job. I will try to pop in from time to time and even post a chapter or two that are already "in the can", but my availability to be here is going to be extremely limited for the foreseeable future.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I didn't abandon Valrimor or reading the great stories here. Hope everyone else gets there stuff sorted and I shall endeavor to do the same.

We just learned on the news that there was a bomb scare at the student center in the university my son goes to. I called him right away, terrified.

He answered laughing; said "I knew you would call worried."

Everything had been cleared before the news broadcast it, thank goodness. WHEW!

A bit ticked we found out hours later, and then from the news station and not the school. Still, no one was hurt, thank goodness.

Oh god! That's terrifying!!

It was terrifying just to know someone like that made it onto campus.

@ Kiln - oh yeah, def glad it was a fake bomb. Other than worry about that crap happening near my son, yeah.

The guy was wearing hospital scrubs and surgical mask, and there is a hospital right around the corner. He probably stole the stuff from the hospital - could be in a drug rehab there or something.

He can't be very bright, the picture of him is very close up and clear; and even with the surgical mask it is easy to see his face/eyes/hair/etc. Anyone that knows him won't be able to miss it is him by the picture.

He left the "bomb" when he ran out, and everyone was worried about getting the students out of there and to safety instead of chasing him. Well, at the time we heard they didn't know if it was a bomb or not, they had the bomb squad come out and put it in the truck where they explode them. (turns out it was a fake).

Then they dig through everything in the truck for fingerprints. He'll be caught quickly.

King Coin
Oh wow. Glad it was just a fake.

Some idiot at my school scrawled something on a bathroom stall so guess what? The building was swept, and for a week they had checkpoints up at each entrance and searched everyone's bag.

My son is home and safe now, and spent the first half hour thinking up things he could have done to scare me when I called worried, lol.

Me too, I'd rather have him here where I can see and hear he's safe. He told all his friends to listen for his phone to ring, and it be his mother worried about him. No sooner said it than it started vibrating and it was me, they all started laughing in the background.

So then he comes home and tells me that he was going to say, "I can't hear you, this man in hospital scrubs is shouting at us..." (Click); plus about 30 other things he could have done to freak me out worse.

"I was late because I had to give some guy in hospital scrubs and a mask a ride, he was wanting to be dropped off a block from here..."

It was an awful feeling. And no, I don't want him texting me when he should be taking cover, but know exactly what you are saying, lol.
