My other cousin was in a car accident. She fractured her neck. I'm shaking so hard right now. They say she's moving her arms and legs, and they're wait for the doc. She's intubated (tube down her throat to help her breathe) and asleep.

Oh my god Liz, that's awful!

Theyre expecting her to be in ICU for about four days. They have to keep her arms restrained because she keeps trying to move. It's not nearly as bad as my other cousin.

My stepmom says she has some road rash, as she was thrown from the car, but she's expected to be just fine. Only one bone was fractured. They're not sure about surgery yet.

Underlined: That's a relief. Last I heard she was on her feet (somewhat) again. Has there been any changes?

She's up and about, my first cousin. She's still doing physical therapy, though.

Update on my second cousin, they're expecting her to make a full recovery. She She'll have a choice to either let the bone heal on its own with the help of a halo, or get surgery. she also broke a few ribs, and that can't be helped. Those will have to heal on their own. She bruised her left lung, and also the road rash from when she was ejected from the car.

The injuries have put her in a ton of pain, but after a good while, she should make a full recovery. I'm still shaking, but so relieved. I took today off in case things took a turn for the worst, and I'm so glad there was no "turn for the worst." Nearly losing my other cousin was bad enough, but two cousins?

Funny thing, actually, I called my store and no one answered, so I called a coworker, sobbing and said "My cousin Amanda was in an accident!"

She started freaking out because she thought I said "My husband was in an accident" and told our boss.

I DON'T KNOW! And the four of us (my sister, my two cousin's and I) used to hang out all the time when we were younger. I was overthinking things earlier and going "What if I'm next? What if my sister is next/" like we're cursed or something.

But we're not. I'm just being dramatic.

No it's not, it's just me being paranoid and jumpy.

My cousin is awake, and her fever is still high (103.8 F) but the tube is out of her throat and she can breathe on her own. They found a blood clot in her bruised lung the other day, but it's been taken care of. She's having surgey, which is what she opted for, on Tuesday. She's also asking that no one see her until she can sit up on her own, which she think she'll be able to do that in as little as two weeks.

So I can't visit her today, like I was planning on doing.

-sigh- and a girl at work and I have gotten really close, and she says we don't talk as much. It's difficult to explain to people that when I'm mourning, upset, or worried, I need time alone And that I need time alone in general. But she's saying we're drifting apart, and we're not, I just need time alone right now and she doesn't get that.

Tough on the friend part. My former best friends outright told me they wanted to "split up" so there was no misunderstanding there. Doesn´t she get it when you explain to her that all you need is to be alone sometimes?

She says she "understands," and invites me out still. I think she wants me to still text her while I'm alone. So i put it on my facebook, so there'd be no confusion, that I do not want to speak to anyone, no calls, texts, nothing, for the whole weekend. I said that when I'm upset, I shut down and need to be left alone or I will snap.

I get a text from a different friend telling me he's there for me if I need to talk. It was a nice gesture. I feel like the only way people will understand is if I make friends with Social Anxiety Disorder like myself, or other introverts.

Hopefully the thing with the friend will just blow over without any butthurt uh, lasting negative feelings. What usually ends up happening to me is I decline an invitation and then never receive one again.

Glad to hear she's a little better. That's a fearsome fever, but like I told you last night, she's in good hands.

My cousin has gone into surgery and came out of the other side doing really well. She's still having trouble eating solid foods because of her throat, but the catheter has been taken out and, get this, she'll be able to take a shower very soon, which she's excited about. She's been able to update facebook several times within the past few days. My sister is flying down from Cali to see her.

Yay! I wish her a speedy recovery, something it sounds like she's started on already!

I'm pretty ecstatic. She won't make it to see Snuggles' birthday party, but still, she'll get plenty of videos.
