Absolutely right, ROFL !!!
Zalphon
Yeah, if I'm lucky I'll have it next Friday...if I'm unlucky, I'll have it the Friday after that...
liliandra nadiar
I'll have it tomorrow, after 10am and a drive down to the Best Buy
mALX
It is HERE !!! The game just pulled up in my driveway and is being carried into the house as I type this !!! WOO HOO !!!!

Urgh...

Robert went to midnight opening...

Robert got back at 12.20...

Robert went to sleep...

Robert's alarm went "BEEP-BEEP-BEEP"...

*Wails*...

It is now as in, right now...5.30am...

And it's updated and installed...

Work coffee, work damn you!!!...

Robert is soooo tired...

Urgh...

I preordered Skyrim as well, but I won't get until about 11 or 12 o'clock today if dad comes home for lunch, even later if he doesn't. Even if I wasn't sick today I probably wouldn't be able to get it myself since I'm only sixteen and that pretty little sign on the package says 18. It's ten o'clock here now, so I don't have to wait that very long at least.
Grits
Mr. Grits has invited friends over for dinner tonight, so my new game will have to wait. There’s a good chance that Mr. Friend will want to play Skyrim while they’re here, which could incite Mrs. Friend to violence. Should be entertaining either way.

Maybe the UPS man will come early, and I’ll have time for a quick border run. Argh, the waiting!
King Coin
Well, I got it at midnight and still haven't been able to touch it. Slow internet + massive update. And you can't launch the game at all until it's installed updates.
Thomas Kaira
Returned from the store, copy of Skyrim in hand and ready to... update.

Did I mention I hate day-one patches? mad.gif

Anyways, it's going to be another couple of hours probably before I can actually play, so stay tuned.

Just wanted to note how happy I am to see you still here, my friend. And I will have to look into this "outside life" of which you speak. Sounds---- dangerous.

Double-posting, sorry... but

IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! My wonderful, sneaky, lovely wife ordered it and had it overnighted.

I had NO IDEA!

I will be disappearing for a while.

Details- oh yes- details.

Bye now.

Aw, Im so jealous!

I'm hoping to get it soon, hopefully, HOPEFULLY next week. I have a feeling the forums going to be nearly abandonned for the next six months!
Thomas Kaira
I'm taking a week off from LtD for my first-impressions playthrough of Skyrim (and to be one of the Chorrol.com tester guinea-pigs biggrin.gif). Don't worry, everyone, I am aware I did not update today, but I feel I had reason not to. I will be resuming the writing over next week.
Jacki Dice
I'm preparing for my first overnight play of Skyrim smile.gif I bought it at the midnight release, and played for a tiny bit but I had to work on 11-11-11 and this morning. Needless to say my dreams have all been Skyrim related.

So now at 11 pm, I've got a full coffee pot and lots of creamer smile.gif I think I'll try and pull a Wrothken and stay up until 4am and see how far I get. -squeal!- biggrin.gif

In other 11-11-11 news, did anyone hear about the baby boy born to two Air Force vets on 11-11 at 11:11? smile.gif

Enjoy your time in Skyrim friends. I am off to finish a roofing job that has kicked my butt since Wednesday. I have just a bit left, couple of pieces of decking to replace and then the rest of the roofing material. The kicker is we have wind advisories today, 20-40 mph, but I can't put it off because the rain is moving in. So as you are all fighting vituals I'll be fighting the big wind monster in Mid TN.
Zalphon
I do indeed hope you enjoy Skyrim Fever smile.gif I'll have my own strain sooner or later biggrin.gif

MILANIUS! I'm overjoyed to see you! Gah have I missed you, man!!!!

Oh and my son has got his xbox-360 copy of Skyrim! He even showed me a snippet and I must say, I'm gonna try it one day....when I get a rig that can actually play it!

But...first of all i'm gonna start writing again...someone made me very happy and I got inspiration! wink.gif
Zalphon
My friends...tomorrow I leave you as I will be getting the Skyrim Fever early smile.gif

While so many folks have fallen victim to the Skyrim Fever (not me - no Steam on this machine sorry), I've been deep in the throes of NNWM Mania.

My Fantasy/Romance is really going. I've been averaging 2K most days, but Friday I hit the first juicy part (no slash, sorry SubRosa) and it has really taken off. I went from 20K written that night to over 35K today. Wrote two chapters Friday, two yesterday, and two more today.

Now I'm typing more typos than sense, so I'm quitting for the night. But I thought I'd pop over here and brag about my little novel tonight!
liliandra nadiar
That's an impressive chunk per day. Something I've never been able to get, despite numerous tries the best I manage is surge then dry spells. Really makes me respect (and envy) anyone who even attempts NNWM, to say nothing of the professional writer I know in another game.

As I should get caught up on OHDH tomorrow or Wends, I can only imagine what you put together for NNWM.

Good luck and good writing. biggrin.gif
Athynae
That's fantastic Haute, keep it up!!! Thinking good thoughts your way and hoping that your fingers can keep up.
Olen
Thats a good bit done there. 15k in three days is quite the feat, and a juicy section you say... I am, of course, fascinated (especially by it being specified that this bit isn't slash...). Best of luck with it anyway, not that it sounds like you need it.

No Skyrim fever here, I'm going to wait until the second patch and then see whether the graphics are tweakable or how new a card I'll need. Otherwise this rig should be ok with it though. Does sort of beg the question why it needs so much in the way of resources given that it runs on consoles... (grrr.)

Robert is jealous...*Pouts*...

While I admit I'm completely addicted to that crushing disappointment that is Skyrim, so I'm not doing any writing...That's some going there!... biggrin.gif ...

I received news from Feralikazam, his Grandmother passed yesterday. Several of you responded to his thread when he shared with us the pain of her illness so I felt you would all want to know.

My deepest, heart felt condolences to you and your family Feralikazam.
mALX
Oh Feralikazam, I am so very sorry. No words feel right at a time like this, just know that you and your family are in our hearts and thoughts.

I know how you f eel, man. My gran passed only a couple of months ago.

My condolences to you.
The Solo Rollo
I got my copy of Skyrim yesterday!

I had an all-nighter at my house with a few mates, a few beers, a tired girlfriend and more than 12 hours of elder scrolls fun!
haute ecole rider
Feralikazam, sorry for the passing of your grannie. It's always tough losing a loved one, and we are all praying for you and your family at this time.

While half of you have been off playing Skyrim, and the rest of you have been continuing with your daily lives, I've had a major upheaval this weekend. After eighteen months of unemployment, I have finally been hired.

By the Apple Store, no less.

They called and offered me the job on Thursday afternoon. I signed the papers that night (heck, after advocating Apple computers here and everywhere else, what else was I supposed to do? Besides, it's one of the current benchmark companies in my MBA curriculum). Training started Friday, and it's been go go go since. I'm about halfway through - the most intense part is over. Managed to get my MBA coursework done, complete my project for this week and submitted it (due at midnight tonight), and now I'm off to see how far I can catch up with all of you.

I'm happy and excited about the job, and I am hopeful that it will lead to a great future with this company.

And I apologize to all of you for not keeping up with the fan fics this weekend.
Grits
haute, what wonderful news, congratulations!!! How exciting! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif Sounds like you had an intense weekend. Woo hoo!

D.Foxy
HAUTEE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
King Coin
Congrats H.E.R.!!
liliandra nadiar
Conga rats HER, always good to have a job, even if it forces itself into ones sleeping and relaxing time.
Athynae
That is wonderful news Haute!! I'm still looking but I am also thinking about starting my own business. We shall see how it goes.
Olen
Congrats Haute! A new job is always exciting, and so is the first pay cheque! wink.gif

Things are good over this way too. My masters project took a big step forward today with a very nice synthesis of what I wanted and a phase transition displaying itself nicely... If I keep being lucky like that and the stuff crystalises I might manage to get a go on a giant xray machine somewhere which would be fairly cool as an undergrad.

And yes, liquid gases, squeezing stuff between diamonds, microscopes, lasers and xrays is rather hollywood science. They miss out the hours sitting in underground rooms being bored though. They also miss out how ad hoc everything is - I mean it's a world renowned lab and I have to export my data on floppy disks? Really?
McBadgere
*Applauds heartily for Haute Ecole Rider...*...

Well done... biggrin.gif ...

Masters project?...

*Sighs and goes back to pointing at pretty lights..*...

The day’s Thanksgiving preparations are complete. The mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie are cooked, resting gently in the fridge. It’s just the Grits family at home tomorrow. Well, Mr. Grits and I might wander down to the neighbors’ later. Their kids and our kids don’t get along. Because their kids are semipermeable buttheads.

Hey, new word on the auto-censor! Guess what it means.

Olen, that sounds... I don't know what the heck you're talking about. embarrased.gif But I completely understood the words "nice" and "lucky," so hearty congratulations!!
Acadian
Well, Thanksgiving preparations are complete here as well and I’m exhausted. After bringing a poinsettia home from the store, I added some water to it. All done. The cheerful plant however, will serve as price of admission when our wonderful neighbors next door share their bounty with us.

As one of the Acadians (not this one) does not eat turkey, or stuffing, or sweet potatoes or pumpkin pie, the tradition often falls to a turkey sandwich for one and a ham sandwich for the other. kvright.gif Our alternative is sometimes a buffet at one of the casinos, but the prob there is that hundreds and hundreds of our closest friends all seem to have the same idea at the same time. panic.gif So this year is a delightfully thankful one! happy.gif
treydog
CONGRATULATIONS HAUTE!!! WOO HOO!

Casa Treydog is now stuffed with Turkey Alfredo (seriously- turkey breast cooked in slow cooker with Alfredo sauce and other secret ingredients), mashed potatoes, cherry Jell-o salad, cornbread (for the dressing to be made tomorrow), butter cake makings (also tomorrow), and green beans.

Will be just Mrs. and I, plus step-daughter and her husband

Oh- and of course 3 VERY interested cats

Cheers and best wishes to everyone!
Grits
LOL, Acadian.

This morning I have already been petitioned for a new tradition: pie for breakfast. Silly children, that's tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Woohoo! Pumpkin pie for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving is indeed a stellar tradition! You are wise to hold the line for this morning though, Grits. biggrin.gif

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
mALX
If you make the pies the day before Thanksgiving, in this house they get eaten the day before Thanksgiving - sort of like a runner-up to the big event. Then I have to make two more. Thanksgiving morning half of one will disappear before I start smacking people, lol.
The Solo Rollo
I totally forgot that America are celebrating thanksgiving!

I wish a happy day (and delicious food) to you all. In other news, I got a copy of oblivion GOTY PC for free! Now I'm juggling Skyrim and modblivion!
Jacki Dice
Happy Thanksgiving everyone celebrating smile.gif

I have no food updates at the moment because we won't be celebrating until Saturday when my dad will be home...and the stomach flu has been making its round here so its just as well.
Olen
I hope those who celebrate it enjoyed thanksgiving.

Over here it's 'German' Market season, given Edinburgh has a shortage of Germans and limited willingness to eat certain foods it probably doesn't match the real thing but it's still fun. Glühwein, fire punch, marsipan and crepes eaten to bad christmas tunes in the cold. The atmosphere is really good and it's a fun place to go in the evening. It is slightly worrying that you can have Christmas tunes in November though...
haute ecole rider
Now that I have had a couple of days off to recuperate from an intense start at my new job (one more training session tomorrow, then shadowing for a week or two), I am finally catching up on my Nanowrimo. 47,280 words so far! I'm fired to try and make it to 50K tonight!

So I'm off!
mALX
Everyone seems to be getting sick of Thanksgiving dinner leftovers now, even disuguised in different dishes. It is now time for the pets to enjoy the rest.

Actually, the dogs did get some ham on Thanksgiving, the cats got a taste of turkey already. But when the leftovers get dumped out they will all feast like kings.
