Indeed. I hope she recovers.

Is this the third family member for Clan Hollow now? Maybe the end is in sight. You know how the old saying goes: Trouble always comes in threes. Seems that way for me here.
Liz, my prayers go out to you and your clan -- hope everyone makes the optimum recovery and return to normal life (or what passes for it in your neck of the woods

).

Grits: I’m standing right here. Why don’t you just show me?
The Girl: *MEGA SIGH* I already texted you. Just read it.
Grits: Um. Ok. Could you call me, then? I think it’s somewhere in the house, but I can’t find my phone.

Update on my MIL:
The carotid artery on her left side wasn't flowing enough blood, and she passed out. The reason I haven't updated was because, -ahem-, they told her at the hospital that, uh, she took too hard of a poo. She checked out as quickly as she could and got the REAL results this morning.
THey said that she's in danger of having a stroke, tough, and next week they're going to to an angiogram (or something) and fix it. Some type of surgery. She's already had surgery for that, too, but we're relieved it was caught in time.
Thanks for the well wishes, y'all :]

As my dad and aunt both owns the farm and the woods we´ve now come to a point where we have to settle everything and get a final owner since kids are involved on both sides. It looks like we may keep the woods but we´ll lose the barn with all the storage space, the tractor garage and what´s hurt me the most; the carpentry workshop

And they don´t even need it, they´re just gonna use it for storage. But it´s all located in such a way that we can´t take it anyway. I love that workshop...
Anyway, this is why we´ve cleared out the smithy and why we have plans to get another workshop, though that won´t contain any carpentry machinery. It´ll just be a place to store our chainsaws and whatnot.

There´s always a possibility to get new machines and all, but I want those old machines with wooden tables and all... My granddad made those and I wanna use them. New machines are soulless and cold and I don´t think I want them.
Sorry for being a bit down, I just love that workshop so much. I don´t even need to work on anything, just being there is all I need to feel good

I know how you feel, Raven.
When my father died us kids talked about what to do with his model railroad. He started it upstairs back in '59 when they first moved into the house, then moved it downstairs in '63, a couple years before I was born. I watched that model railroad grow from a 4x8 layout along one wall of the laundry room to encircle the entire room. It went behind the furnace and above the washer and dryer. The room had two doors, one to the garage and the other to the main basement. He bridged those two doors with (i kid you not) bridges that were each three feet long and removable.
We made the decision with Mom to sell the model railroad. Fortunately, one of our church members is also a model railroader, so he was able to take Dad's model railroad and add it to his empire. He told me that it increased his own layout twice over, and he has been very pleased with it.
But every now and then I still dream about the darn thing . . .

Because they don't have to pay for them? Just guessing at your age group here, but I see kids in the Apple Store all the time with broken iPhones and pissed off parents because the parents have to pay for the repairs/swaps.
Parents, why do you buy your kids such expensive, fragile gizmos?? What do you expect??
Of course, this is from someone who grew up in an era when the epitome of technology was a Betamax.

Hi everyone!
Maybe you know this already, but I thought I'd share in case there are some who don't know about this.
Heartbleed is the latest malware to attack our most secret accounts. The really scary thing about Heartbleed is that it has been eavesdropping on those sites that use OpenSSL for secure communications for about two years. How much damage is going to arise from that remains to be seen. But it's good to assume that a significant number of your online accounts are not secure.
Mashable.com has an excellent article about Heartbleed and some of the services it affects. It indicates which services are affected by this OpenSSL hack and where you should change your passwords.
That said, I'm off to change my passwords at a few of these websites. Fortunately I'm not big on most social media (other than this forum!

), but I do have to change my Google and Yahoo! passwords. I'm not active on those two sites at all, but still . . .
Good idea if you did the same . . .

Apr 11 2014, 01:24 AM
In case it's not obvious...
There's no point changing your password until a site has patched its software, or they'll just steal the new password. In fact it's more likely to happen now, as the bad guys are more alert to the possibility.

Apr 11 2014, 01:50 AM
True, which is why I suggest using the list on Mashable.com to only change those that have taken steps to correct the issue. Google and Yahoo have done so, so I've changed those passwords. So have Dropbox and Intuit. I've also done those passwords as well. But I haven't yet changed netflix as they haven't said anything one way or another. So I'll wait for those to turn green.

I can't remember the password for my Gmail account

I guess I just have to hope that Google are right about not needing to change the password...

I lost my inspiration to continue Maxical’s story and to read others. but i’m back for good. I felt guilty to have left.
