We're mostly worried about his attention span (he doesn't pay attention to what's going on around him and ignores everyone) and that he refuses to learn how to use the toilet.

Boys are like that, lol. The attention span - you have to make sure you have their attention and that he is looking at your face when you talk if it is "Attention Deficit."
Have you had his hearing checked? That was one of the first clues for me that my son was hearing impaired - seemed to be ignoring everyone, not paying attention. He kept passing the hearing tests the Pediatrician gave, but Mother's instinct - I took him to a hearing specialist, and they found he was deaf in one ear, the other his hearing was right on the borderline.
Another thing that can cause the ignoring everyone is Asperger's, but you would probably have noticed other symptoms by now and had a diagnosis by the Pediatrician.
Potty training - I couldn't train my sons for anything in the world! Even sending them to the bathroom with their Father to "watch how it is done," - nothing. My older son - I sent him to a professional potty trainer - it was expensive, but in two weeks he never had an accident again.
My youngest - my boyfriend (at the time) showed him how to pee on bushes/sides of buildings, write words in the snow or sand, pee in a soda can, etc. He never wore diapers again, nor wet his pants - however, I had to stop him numerous times from peeing on plants in offices/walls of police departments/inside elevators/etc.

I agree with mALX that ignoring everyone and not paying attention to stuff around him may be a sign of deafness (I'm deaf and that was Mom's first clue that something was not "right" with me) or signs of autistic spectrum disorder (the newest term these days). Does he make eye contact?
I had to crack up at your description of his choice of dialogue! Must freak strangers out!

He makes eye contact sometimes, but usually only with me or my husband. Otherwise he's sitting on someone's lap touching their face. He's very touchy and affectionate.

That probably rules out Aspergers right there. I'd get his hearing checked NOT by a pediatrician (their tests are not comprehensive enough), but by a pediatric ENT that specializes in hearing impairment testing.
Also, if Snuggles is really bright (like my son was/is) - he will need a "blind" study done, where he can't see the person giving the test whatsoever.
My son was able to watch her eyes, notice when there was a different look in them, like an "expectant" look - and realize he was expected to respond somehow, he would press the button as if he heard.
Well, I insisted he get the test over again, but with the viewing window blocked - he wasn't able to hear anything when he couldn't see the woman giving the test.
A very sociable child can fool a test, follow your instincts on what you think it is. I had to keep insisting something was very wrong with my son's hearing against his own pediatrician's determinations, and turned out to be right.

I agree that the fact that your son is quite touchy and affectionate pretty much rules out autistic spectrum disorder - most autistic people do not like being touched.
mALX is quite right about a deaf person being able to anticipate expectations from others based on their expressions/body language. It's called speech reading and is something I do very well after well over 45 years of practice.
Do ask your pediatrician for a referral to an ENT. That's what my Mom did with me.

Same here, Liz. Snuggles is a very affectionate and loving and happy child, these developmental delays may be nothing to worry about at all, they are not significant enough to take that great personality from him!

Some children are slower than others to meet milestones, boys are ALWAYS slower than girls to meet milestones. Snuggles may just be a laid back child.

I post so sporadically on chorrol these days that I hardly realise when someone's gone, but I've definitely noticed your absence mALX, and I'm soo very happy to see that you're back. Like so many have said before me, take your time and take care of yourself. I really hope you get better and that your economical situation works out.
Like many times before I'm posting and then taking of again, though this time the statement's a bit more literal. Because in less than 24 hours I'll be on a plane to Africa, and whatever access I'll have to the internet for the next few weeks it'll be sporadic at best.
I wish you all the best, and when I'm back I'll make an effort to be more active, and perhaps finally get back to updating Ekali's story.

I am stunned by the stats on this page. Did I not have to apologize to someone last year for momentarily thinking they would do something like this?

It is a petty honor at best when earned by merit; so really unsure why anyone would feel the need to falsely inflate these stats (if Minque did this herself).
If (however) this is another Starge joke, you cannot realize how bad you have made Minque look by it. It makes her look like her ego is as inflated as these posting stats, and makes her out a liar for the apology she demanded from me last year.
That is all I have to say.

I probably did, and it wouldn't be the first time. But regardless, this makes Minque look extremely petty, something her friends and people that know her declare is far from the person she is.
I was made to apologize to her publicly for even thinking she could be so shallow as to have such a petty desire as remaining at the top of the post count list. This stat confirms my original opinion if nothing else. Is that the context? With your particular sense of humor involved, it could very well be
Anyway, all jokes aside - I was just making a statement.

Minque didn't inflate her post count. It isn't possible with our permissions. All we're able to do is suspend privileges, move/lock threads, and modify info in member profiles (in case of offensive material). We can't change post counts or create/change member groups. We can also remove user avatars but not replace them with anything else.
Personally, I thought it was humorous and I suspect it was done to counter the "I beat Minque" posts.

Read what Starge said. Anyone that knows Starge knows his humor has a twist of irony - always. Think about what was done in that context, (and consider how long it takes to send a PM to Alexander and ask him to reset the numbers; and how long ago that joke was played). If Kobby was the target, he wasn't the only one that joke was directed at.
