Olen: The program is technology and it's the specialisation architecture and society. It'll be mostly maths and physics, but later I'll get to study CAD(Computer Assisted Design) and several other fun subjects. I only get to study some PE, and no craft or music which I really don't like to study anyway. The school is also situated in the middle of an area where they're building loads of new buildings so I think it's the perfect place since I want to become an architect. They had no more than 270 students last year if what I've been told is true, so it's also really small.

Although said regarding something else I think this shows that I am well aware of the traits that I share with my Mother, the one and only Serene.

The day was warm and pleasant, the grilling was good, and I got to relieve my childhood by having a roman candle fight with my younger siblings. It might be the last time I come home for the summer, so I had to be sure to get another one in. Right now, there's a steady, rolling, booming sound filling the air. All of the good, fun fireworks are illegal in Minnesota, but that doesn't stop anyone. In your face, King George!

Acadian it isn't the fighter that matters, it's that we are blessed to have courageous men and women to fly them. I have actually been up in an F-14 for a courtesy flight. Of course the pilot that flew me could have probably gotten in as much trouble for that as Tom Cruise did for the "fly-bys" but for me it was worth every second!!!!! I still have my flight suit, a wonderful reminder.
Thanks Acadian, better than a card!!!

Well, we arrived safely in England, to a new home without any casualties, except for one tragic loss. I will mourn the loss of my xbox controller charger

Anyway, the house we got has just been renovated, so we have brand new carpets, wallpaper, etc. One bad point is that we live right next to the school playground.
We've settled in well now and hope this is the final move for a while!

Yes, we do! So glad you found that amusing Uncle Seth!!!! It seems rather strange to me that you can complain about Mother being in your head but don't seem to grasp that others feel the same way, or that they aren't particularly pleased with being "watched" ALL THE TIME!!!! Honestly Seth, it makes me jumpy! If I accidentally
end up freezing some innocent bystander into a statue it could well be the result of one of your "spies" doing a poor job of blending in.

Enjoy your holidays those who have them. Minque, camping in Germany sounds fun, it's a country I want to see more of when I have sufficent funds.
Ahrenil - good stuff with the results, its always a releif not to be waiting for them. And random objects in exams are always good, it wakes the markers up.
I'm getting to know the town I'm living in for the summer now. It's an interesting place, certainly not Edinburgh but not that bad, just a bit like being back in time. Though after a night out I've concluded that there must be something in the water here which causes insanity among a portion of the inhabitants.

Day 1 of the Big Heat Wave. The heat hasn't arrived in Minnesota just yet (though it has been hot) so much as the humidity. I took my dog running tonight, and ended up running through a thick 80-degree fog. It was quite eerie.
Tomorrow it's supposed to get over 100. Funny thing - we've gone from one of the coldest winters in years (featuring the biggest snowstorm since '91) to one of the hottest summers (featuring the biggest bona fide heat wave I can remember since '01).

Stepped out front just now to wander around the yard and was gathering twigs.
Saw a largish one under a dogwood and then realized- NOT a twig.
Based on the white chin and vestigial markings (where she had eaten), she is a 3 to 4 foot black rat snake.

Don't worry too much Trey! Black rats are fairly harmless. There non-venemous constrictors. Just dont pick it up! It will probably spray musk at you.

Oh- no worries. I have been around our ophidian friends for my entire life. Have handled rat snakes, garter snakes, ring-necks, water snakes (natrix natrix), and green snakes.
The only thing for me- particularly in the suburbs is the "startle factor."
And there are copperheads and rattlers in the area- although I have not encountered any.
I just took a few pictures and wished her good hunting.
