I agree with KC. You don't need an Independence Day to have a BBQ!

Fireworks down on the Las Vegas Strip were nice last night, but the magnificent part was Mother Nature providing a grand finale. She unleashed a fantastic show of lightning that erupted into a sudden thunderstorm. Great timing! Happily, I was up on my mountain looking down on all of it and not caught in the weather.
KC - That is so neat! Flying can be great fun.

so really it wouldn't matter if we had an independence day

It was fun, steering was a combination of using a little roll and then using the rudder to bring the nose around. The aircraft was very small so you could feel the fluctuations in the air going around you.

I would like to try out a plane too

I have 50 hours in a helicopter but you can´t do the same maneuvers in one of those. While I prefer the copter because of its versatility, flying upside down on higher altitude and speed would be so much fun!

I didn't get to fly a helicopter, but I got some time in a training simulator. It was a cockpit with an enormous wrap around screen. You felt like you were moving even though you weren't. That was a lot of fun.

The only helicopter simulation I´ve tried is where you fly an Apache Longbow on the PC...

Congrats Star! And good luck against Argentine.
I would have preferred a final between our countries but alas, Argentine was better.
I do hope Argentine won't get a whooping like Brazil did, it's a lot more fun to watch a game where the teams are evenly matched

Well I suppose some skill is involved in taking them and blocking them, I do feel the other goalie might have done a better job here like he did last time, but with no transfer left to the coach there was no other option.
But I share your dislike for a penalty shootout, I'd much rather have seen it decided in the game itself.
So, how do you like your chances for this sunday? Do you think you'll be able to beat them?

Well it's a WC final, so it won't be easy by definition. That said, I am confident that we have a good shot at it. My reasoning:
THEY have Messi.
WE have a whole team!

We watched until 1:30am and got up again at 6am. I'm not hungover but pretty sleepy. But it was well worth it.
They sure did make it interesting until the last minute, didn't they? Love the goal Götze shot, even if the rest of his playing in the tournament was pretty sub par. And that assist by Schürrle was even more fascinating, especially at that point in the game. Oh well. I think they deserve this title much more than the 1990 team which just blundered through the tournament and got lucky in the end.
Someone even fired some fireworks right after the game ended. 'twas fun!
