They really were stinkers! He did a lot of running, as you can imagine. laugh.gif I would never have had the confidence to just stroll in there without the quest to push Jerric in that direction, and if anyone had been online I would have asked for help! But I'm glad it worked out this way. He was pretty pleased when that last centurion fell. (And then not at all pleased at the skellies!)
Acadian
Oh yes, those skellies after the fight are a frustrating surprise the first time you do that dungeon. Sort of like first go through Elden Hollow 1 - kill the final boss only to die trying to get out of the dungeon! tongue.gif

Our WB romp made Jerric want to return to Coldharbour and smack some more daedra around. Dizzying Swing is so fun, it's bound to be next on the nerf block. Happily he has a short memory and is enjoying the quests again in his Warden pants.

Unna morphed hers to Wrecking Blow, because we imagined Dizzy would just knock enemies out of range in two swipes. Presumably they run back for more, and we shouldn't have worried?

Jerric likes to lay down Subterranean Assault and then knock them onto it with Dizzying Swing. Sometimes they hit at the same time. While they’re stunned he deals with whoever’s next to him, then jumps on with a Reverse Slice. Good fun. Unna is right, he has to move to them to finish the fight. In a little group he tries to Dizzy the mages who have to be chased down anyway.

Like Unna, Elke uses Wrecking Blow. She works light attacks in where Jerric does not. Also she does not want to knock enemies out of her AoEs. She lays down a death zone and then fights in it, while he jumps around like a maniac. (I suspect that Elke is less annoying to work with!)

Floozie finished her last trait for 8 in everything (except jewelry) so she celebrated with a lap of Craglorn. She picked up a Potent Nirncrux, so now Blossom has the final piece banked for her 9/9 research. She can't start that last one until a slot opens, but that's only a few days away.

Bo started her last (for 8 traits) too. Laurie still has over a month before she can start the last Jewel trait.

Because we're saving up for one of the 3.8 million gold mansions, she's not buying motif pages, and the writs storage chest is getting full. We have 2.3 million so far, and a day's writs for everyone can bring in 50k, if I don't spend all my time making Skyrim mods.
Acadian
Grits, so glad Jerric is enjoying stamwarding! Buffy can play a stamwarden but she is (of course) bow/bow when doing so. Wardens are pretty fun.

Ghastley, I only keep one game installed on my puter so deciding which one to play is easy. Keeping Buffy on task can be challenging though. Is that a butterfly? Ooh, what is that glow over there? tongue.gif

Athynae is chasing shards and quests and the elusive level 50... so that Hrolf can make her some really good Stamblade gear....

She dumped some Alliance assault gear in the guild bank if anyone needs it--- please feel free.

Last night, Cincy experienced the Aldmeri Dominion questline, the last of the 3 alliances for him. Cadwell's gold has now been finished! He also knocked out a bunch of other quests, and for the first time in a long time (since before my 1.5 year-long hiatus from the game) is down to a single-digit number of quests in his journal.

On the combat skill front, Cincy hit level 50 in Dual Wielding this past week and has all of the passives there. His Two-Handed skill is rising tremendously quickly and is now at 43. It is so much easier to level combat skills up when you are at a good Champion level. I've found Dual Wielding to be way more fun than One Hand and Shield, but I'm probably most effective with the latter.

I'm mostly going to worry about hunting for Skyshards for now so that I can get all the passives for Two-Handed for Cincy and then have some left over for when I start leveling up his Bow skill. But I would also like to continue the Murkmire questline soon as well. After all, Cincy is from Lilmoth.
Acadian
Wow, Cincy's been moving fast! The Greenshade Wilderking/queen quests are among Buffy's faves in the game. Hope you enjoy Murkmire.

Oh my gosh you guys. Warden Jerric spent some time today working through the fetch quests in his log both to deal with the clutter and to push his last new skills into the morphs that he wants. (Not quite done yet.) One of them sent him to a ruin with some lady’s notebook. Oh hey, he says at the door, this is one of those group dungeons. I’ll just pop in, she’s probably right by the door.

She was right by the door. But of course once she got her book she had some more use for him. One thing led to another, and that’s how Warden Jerric soloed Volenfell! viking.gif

HOLY COW!!!! That is an amazing feat, Congratulations to Warden Jerric!!! Does he keep healing on his bar too? Really proud of you both; that was a real proving grounds of your abilities!

Blossom has started her final (non-jewel) trait research of a Nirnhoned Dagger. Only she and Laurie are still doing any research, as I stopped most of the others at 8 traits (5 for jewelry), and Laurie only has the 9th Jewel trait to go.

Spreads is the designated deconstructer for jewels at present, and she just went Skyshard hunting to take advantage of her skill level (23). She's hinting that her Blacksmithing and Clothier also need some points, but the 50+ skyshards would be a major session, as she's only Rank 1 in those, even at level 50. We may compromise a bit, as there are plenty of mats at all levels in our craft bag.

Daily writs have been a bit neglected, with usually only Unna doing a round when she collects the log-in reward and her hireling mail. She's the only one with hirelings, and we did that to read the mail. Now they're repeating themselves, we could re-spec her skills and drop them, as grinding up drops gives us all we need.

As of a few nights ago, Cincy finally has some legendary (gold) equipment! Found some fairly cheap rosin for woodworking, so now his shield, destruction staff, and bow are at max quality. In the process of gathering some tempering alloy for Blacksmithing, but I don't want to go crazy buying stuff and the alloy is more expensive than rosin. I'll also need a lot more alloy since so much of my equipment needs it. I don't want to take any chances of destroying my equipment, so I will not upgrade them until I have 100% chance to improve it. Have the passives that lower the amount of tempers needed as well.

If anybody has tempering alloy and would be willing to part with it, I will gladly trade my leftover rosin (3) and the few units of dreugh wax (for clothing) I have for them. With max temper expertise passive, I need 8 tempering alloy per weapon/piece of heavy armor. Which means I need...a whopping 80 tempering alloy to get all legendary equipment...

Also just finished the Murkmire questline. Tying up loose ends in Coldharbour, mostly the missing skyshards, is next.

I remember Misa doing one piece of armor at a time improving them to gold. Sometimes it would be weeks to a month before the next piece would be golded; and sometimes I'd get lucky and be able to do two in one week, lol. But yeah; we pieced ours out too. I did the weapons first; then worked on the armor.

To get the tempers for metal = pick up any metal ore you see in your travels; and refine it when you get back. (you HAVE to set the refiner to 1 , don't do them all at once or you won't get all your tempers from the refining).

Don't click too fast, either. If you are slow and regular in your refining you should get a temper out of the refining at approximately once every 50-100 units you refine. If you do the Daily Writs; they sometimes pay in Surveys = do the Surveys for huge stacks of materials to refine (meaning more tempers).

Rader, grats of golding out some of your gear. Your priorities probably should be weapons. Then 'big' armor bits (helm, chest, legs, shield), then small armors. Many players never even bother going beyond purple on jewelry since the return there is not very much from purple to gold.

Anyway, sent you an in game PM with some blacksmithing gold and purple tempers attached. Call it a gift so no need to give up some of your other tempers; you're at the stage where you pretty much need to keep building up your supplies. smile.gif

That was exactly how I felt starting out; but then quickly found it was so entertaining to see what other people do for fun in this game - especially on the weekends! Just this past weekend they were seeing how many Players could balance on a lamp post in a town I was in. They were tumbling off; and squeezing around on that little post, it was hilarious!

Once in Mournhold a whole group mounted on horseback was trying to balance their horses on top of the store awnings.

Sometimes the Mages get together in Daggerfall and put on "light shows" with their magic spells - that is Awesome to watch!

Also, I've had a lot of new-to-the-game players come up to me and ask me to trade with them = if someone does this to you and you see their character's level is very low = they are usually really young Japanese boys; and it is a part of their culture for the elders to give them a present. I asked the first one, what did he want? He said: "Something that will help a new Player."

So I usually give them some lockpicks, or soul gems, or some food if I have some that works for a low level character. If you give them a present, they will ask to be friends. I always say yes; but they never bother you after that; it is just some kind of way for them to thank you for the gift.

But when I first started this game; (I never asked anyone for a gift) but a lot of people just saw my low level and just stopped me and gave me gifts! It was so nice that I fell in love with the game because of it.

I haven't seen as much of that going on anymore; maybe because I don't have a young character anymore. But I still love it when the low level Players come up to me and ask for a gift = love that we can give gifts in this game!

ghastley
Talking of gifts: let us know when you get a few levels in, and decide what kind of character Shonta is going to be. We'll make some matched armour at the appropriate level, with a set bonus, and a Training trait to help you advance quicker. We all do that for our own alternate characters - usually making a new set every ten levels. Unfortunately the hand-me-downs only work within an account, but the lower-level gear is cheap to make anyway., and the materials for it pile up a bit. We're only using up the top-level stuff.

Our alternates get the advantage of our Champion points, too, but we can't help you with that. tongue.gif

We made Cincinnatus a set of tank armour for the guild meet a little over a month ago, and it was a big help for the rest of us who did the group dungeon together. We're not just doing it for you, it helps the team.

His was Fortified Brass - a tank set usually made in Heavy. We'd normally make Julianos (light) for a mage, and Hunding's Rage (Medium) for the others. The materials match the levels, of course.
Lopov
Thanks, that's very kind, I will do it once I get to know the game and Shonta better.
Lopov
Yesterday as Shonta was returning to the Bleakrock village, we saw a guard pursuing one of the players. We arrived too late to see what Josef (that was the guy's name, I managed to read it) did to piss of the guards. He was running out of the village, but couldn't escape the guard, she was after him with leaping jumps, beating him relentlessly. After one final jump and beating Josef disappeared, I assume, he "died".

I'll probably witness more such scenes in the future, but it was funny seeing it for the first time.

laugh.gif Yes, don't ever jump in to help the Player; or they will be after you next and you will be killed and get a bounty and have to hide out in the wilderness till it is gone. The Guards in this game cannot be killed by Players.

Usually when the Guards are after someone it is because they were caught doing something on the list below: (so you know what to avoid doing)

* Pick-pocketing
* Stealing
* Attacking or killing an NPC

* Turning into a werewolf in front of an NPC or feeding on someone as a werewolf

* Feeding on someone or biting someone's neck as a vampire

* Performing illegal Necromancy acts in view of NPC's.

I personally get the guards after me for inadvertently hitting the "R" key when trying to do something = setting off my Ultimate and it hits an NPC and either kills them or just injures them. Next thing I know the whole town is after me.

Well - to circumvent this the game has a setting (Escape key, then I think it is under "Gameplay.") = that stops you from killing innocents. That way whenever you accidentally set off your ultimate or swish your blade and it hits someone = it doesn't hurt innocents. I do use that on some of my characters (the ones that aren't carrying the Blade of Woe).

We just passed the 2.5M gold mark, on our way to buying a title manor house. Blossom is insisting we get the Daggerfall Overlook, as she wants to be seen as a proper Lady (and besides, it's the cheapest tongue.gif ).

We're making 50K a day from crafting, so that's less than a month away if we don't falter. The Master Writs coming in are helping us save up vouchers for stations for the guild, too, but we already filled our storage chest with ones we can't do yet. I may have to send some of those out for other members to make. Any volunteers?

Wow, Congrats on having a lucrative crafting team! That is amazing!

I used to have 5 crafters bringing in 25,000 per day; but respec'd one of them to play as a Magicka Nightblade (Lita, who you met at the last Guild Meet) and she didn't have enough skill points to both play AND craft. So now I'm down to only 20,000 per day income from crafting. verysad.gif

All of my characters are at level 50 in all crafting skills; but half of them don't have enough free Skill Points available to sink into both crafting skills and combat.. (So technically; the crafters don't play; the Players don't craft = except Misa; my main character. She has every skill point in the game, so can craft at top level and fight to her best ability too).

ghastley
The nice thing is that the gold part of the reward for a crafting writ just depends on character level, so Spreads doing a Rank 1 smithing writ gets the same cash reward as Laurie doing a Rank 10 one. The other returns are leveled to the writ, but not the gold. Let 'em all craft!

I'm in much the same position of all being at level 50, but some not having invested the skill points in all the crafts. Everyone is top-rank in some of the skills, especially Provisioning, so they can make their own food when it runs low. But my Bosmer is leery of Woodworking, and is low-level in that, etc. Laurie and Blossom are the only ones that are completely at top rank, with each of the others lagging on some skill or other - mostly Jewelry, as we got Summerset as DLC.

They all just about have their combat skills fully invested, so when there is time for skyshard collection, the points go into crafting ranks. I don't bother allocating points to the other passives, as Laurie can do all the refining etc. from the bank or the craft bag. She was making all the food, too, but it's better if the others can do that in the field, and handing down the recipes has got us there in time.

Athynae reached her level 50 (and so now CP 334 or so). Hrolf started on her Stamblade gear- mix of Night Mother and Hunding's. She is wearing 2 pieces at the moment- the only 2 he could improve to Epic. The others are on hold as is the jewelry until Trey can reach 50 in bauble crafting.

Need to get to Wrothgar to get the Ancient Orc motif for Hrolf to finish a Master Writ. He did a bit of "quest-log clearing." Which is hard because his controller has this... OCD tendency to see a new quest marker and want to "just see what it's about."

Trey is deconning jewelry as the others feed it to him.

@ghastley: you can send any master writs you can't do to me . . . Maz has accumulated so much motif knowledge that she can do almost any armor/weapon in almost any style. Be warned, however, we trash any jewelry master writs that require us to use trait stones we don't have plenty of (such as triune) and costs a fortune on the guild traders.

It's great to read the progress our guilds are making in the game, and to remember how long it took me to get Maz to Grand Master Crafter. She is very proud of her accomplishments in this game and has the banners to show for it!

We have a large stock of writs that are only 5 vouchers or so, and not worth buying a page for. At least, not while the "make Blossom a Lady" campaign is under way. The few others are the Nirnhoned weapon ones, where the Potent just hasn't dropped for us yet. We'll keep those, as we do Craglorn surveys quite frequently, so our chances are decent.

There's also a significant number of the Provisioning writs for the rare recipes. These are more tempting to buy the recipes, as that would let us do quite a few at once, but since the recipes are supposed to drop from doing the regular writs, we're being patient. We have most of the recipes for those, but we're missing three or four, so those are the writs we keep getting. laugh.gif

On that subject, the Guild Bank now has all seven Psijic Ambrosia fragments again. We just deposited VI.

And it's sometimes needed for a Provisioning Master Writ, so worth having it on at least one character per account. Perfect Roe is a random rare drop from fish skinning, you don't have to do anything special to get it, unless you consider fishing exceptional.

XP boosts are useful when you're raising a new character, but the number of scrolls from log-in rewards has made the Ambrosia a bit pointless for that, except for the fact that it can stack with a scroll. Once you're at CP cap, it gets a bit moot, anyway.

I sent a bunch of small smithing writs over to haute for Maz to do, as I didn't know the motifs. And then I got another one in the next round for 86 vouchers, more than double the total for the six I'd passed on.

Half-way to the next station already!

(I have at least twenty more of the small ones, I can only send six at a time by mail, as they don't stack. I may have to put them in the bank instead).

Shonta Quassan got beaten today over and over by some giant blue mudcrab west of Stonefalls. Later on, as he was being revived, two more players attacked the mudcrab. Shonta Quassan joined the fight but TBH I'm not sure if he dealt any damage to it at all, the other two players, that were both above Lvl 400, seemed to dealt with the mudcrab on their own. When it died, we got an achievement.

The blue mudcrab was definitely much more difficult to bring down than anything we've come across so far. Later on I googled it up and read that it's supposed to be a boss of sorts.
ghastley
That's right. The giant one has 100x your hitpoints, and also does some serious damage when he hits you. The overland world bosses are all like that, and intended for whole groups of players to take on together. When you have the maximum Champion Points, you may be able to do them solo. Players that can do that will have softened them up with ranged abilities, and hit them with various debuffs to lower their damage output, before they get close enough to need to dodge.

And at that level, you find it hard to get one to yourself to make a solo attempt, as everyone nearby will come and help (to share the achievement). tongue.gif I've only managed one, but apparently Buffy makes a habit of it.

The guild often collects the scalps of all the world bosses in a zone, when we have more than four players. Four is the limit for a group dungeon (twelve for a trial). If there are five or six, World Bosses are good sport.

We sent Athynae into Wrothgar to search for some motifs that seem otherwise unobtainable.

She survived one daily (with a lot of help from a random stranger) and has done several side quests, because I can't ignore quest markers.

However, the game has experienced 4 CTDs so far today, as well as a lock/lag in the middle of a fight in a cavern. Not a public dungeon or otherwise highly dense area- just Athynae and an ogre.... Hope tomorrow's "server maintenance" will remedy these issues....

Hrolf was able to complete the Hunding's Rage bow for Athynae and get it to Legendary- and Trey added the recommended enchantment. I think that gets Athynae to 3 legendary pieces of gear, with the rest at epic and waiting on the tempers to drop for improvement.

Shellcracker!!

Also, don’t forget that the upcoming Witches Festival is a really good time to get those World Boss achievements since a lot of people will be trying to kill them for Plunder Skulls.

Do these bosses respawn?

I'm looking forward to this year's festival.

treydog
Yes- they respawn with some frequency. You will see people in world chat requesting "Need help with Graufang" (or similar). That usually means they are near a world boss and cannot solo it.

The map marker is a handy skull with crossed swords behind it.

Aye, as Treydoggiedog confirmed the world bosses do respawn at regular intervals. During the Witches festival, make sure you request to join a group at any world boss spawn point so you can be assured of getting loot from its corpse. No doubt at least a few of your guildies will be on so see if any of us can help.

Yeah; that Blue Mudcrab is a World Boss in Stonefalls. There are two more, one is Three Netches together next to a large Fort; the other is a giant Scrib on a hill near Davon's Watch. Like Ghastley said = World Bosses are meant for a group or Buffy to attack, lol.

(and just as Treydoggie said = look on your map; all the World Bosses show on your map as a "Skull" with the crossed swords behind it).

My characters are all Level 810; and not one of them can solo that Blue Mudcrab! It still kills them repeatedly even with a group helping. My Tank is the only one who can survive the entire fight with him, and even she HAS to go in Tanking gear to survive it. (but the Tank doesn't have the power to kill it solo).

What kills you with that Blue Crab is some kind of "AoE" (Area of Effect) = as if he is putting out invisible poisonous gas. Most Bosses in this game give some kind of sign right before they use their AoE; but I have yet to be able to catch what the Blue Mudcrab is doing right before his AoE - and it covers a huge area. Not sure if you can block it or roll dodge to avoid it; so it always kills me. Bring a stack of Soul Gems when fighting him (to resurrect with) - even if you have others there fighting with you.

(Acadian's Buffy can actually solo it, and she does it just for fun and exercise! I don't know how she does it!)

If you need Soul Gems; check the Guild Bank; there should be some in there. If not, I'll put some in.

Also, if you put points into your "Soul" skill line passives and carry empty Soul Gems around with you - whatever you kill will fill those empty ones up; and you will keep your stock of Soul Gems up as you adventure. (you will def need them).

Ha, and I thought that it's just me who sucks at fighting that crab.

This! Very much this! Shonta Quassan wasn't even close to it and he was already receiving tremendous damage.

I took some (two or three) soul gems from the bank in my starting days in ESO but yesterday I took five? (not sure) more, because I spent lots of them when fighting the crab.

Take a minimum of 50 Soul Gems. Those soul gems have been in there for years and no one has touched them = feel free to take a stack of 200; it is better to have too many than need one and not have it. And also grab a stack of Empty Soul Gems too; so you can keep your supply up.

Acadian
Yup, a new player in the guild, when making a new character, should grab 200 each of lockpicks and full soul gems from the guild bank. The more established members can easily replace those. The only reason there aren't tons more in there all the time is for space limitations in the guild bank.

Agreed! And yes, please take all the lockpicks you need 200 at a time; because I have stacks of them waiting to replace the ones in the Guild Bank, lol.

Acadian
Haha! I just trimmed the bank down to about 5 full stacks of lockpicks and flushed the full soul gems up to two full stacks.

Shonta Quassan was in troubles today after encountering the powerful hagraven, known as the Crow's Mother, so he called Cincy for help. Cincy killed the Crow's mother with ease, while Shonta Quassan admired the powerful Dragonknight, hoping to be as powerful as well one day. After the battle the Argonians danced to celebrate the victory and meeting.

Argonians dance

P.S.
I'll take a better screenie next time. tongue.gif Sorry for delays in chat responses, Rader, somehow I turned my chat into a zone mode, then it took me a while to figure out how to talk to you only.
Acadian
Woot! So glad that Shonta got some assistance. Yup, Cincinnatus is a strong character - glad he was there to help.

Ooh, nice that you got help when you needed it! Awesome! That is a pretty tough fight; she killed Misa a few times too.

To "Whisper" to anyone so no one else can see the conversation but them you can do that in any of these ways:

1. Find their name on the Guild Roster or your Friends List; Right Click on it and choose "Whisper" on the drop down list.

2. If you are standing near them; mouse over them till you see the option to Talk to them. Click on that; and a circle will appear with several options you can choose. Find the one that says "Whisper."

3. If you see their name in the Chat Box; you can Click on their name and it will automatically set you into a private conversation with that person.

The color of the print in the Chat Box should turn into an aqua-blue to show you are whispering.

* White color is Zone Chat = used mostly for people in the surrounding area close to you in case you need help in a dungeon you can call for help from those in your immediate area (good for people who are not in a Guild; or whose fellow Guild-Mates and friends are not online at the time.

By default, Guild Chat is green. You can change that to any color you want - I changed my Chorrolites Guild Chat color to "Hot Pink," lol. That way it stands out really well in the Chat Box, lol.

He is indeed. He also made sure to attack the Hagraven first, so she focused on him, not on Shonta.

Yes, I know this, but I had initiated the zone chat at some point, then it took me a while to get back to Cincinnatus only.
