Ugggh. The server is down for maintenance.

Yeah apparently there was an issue with this week's Monday maintenance so it's going on longer than usual.
monkeyemoness
Ugh, gross. I guess if it fixes the login issues it's fine.

I got bored so I drew A Cube while I waited.

Cube Dad
TheCheshireKhajiit
Well at least Khajiit got some work done on his Fallout4 character's fortress.

Yeah, it was taking me 30 minutes of trying to log on before I finally got to play for the past two days.

GAAAAAH, Awesome drawing! There is an angry Nord thwarted from play, lol. (hands balled into fists).

Anyways, as if to compensate for the wait, I got a 260~ voucher writ and I'm only 150 away from another set of attunables. Going for Redistributor this time.

Khajiit wishes we could color our weapons to match our armor/clothing.

Same. The ruby weapons look ridiculous.

Can't speak for those but the problem Khajiit is having is that the armor color scheme Mira is using is Birch White (almost white gray), Obsidian Black (dark charcoal gray), and a dark wine red/purple color. Well, her sword handle is bright orangey red and looks weird with her armor.
monkeyemoness
I mean we got Shield dyeing sometime after Wrothgar, it's only a matter of time till we finally get weapons. Right? i've had the same problem tbh. The CP weapons' default colors are offensive.

Anyways, first thing I did today was basically empty my Motif fund for more decorations. I'm down to like 13k. I can finally let loose and decorate my houses (so long as I have materials) but now I gotta start making money again. Maybe it's time to start selling those extra motifs I got from the event? Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood used to be my main fund-fillers, but two events destroyed the value of the TG motifs and DB is annoying to get.

I guess the Crafting Monkey Dravean will have to start doing more daily DB contracts.

TheCheshireKhajiit
In other news, Mira is closing in on finishing up in Coldharbour. Our Tamrielic forces have taken the gatehouse and defeated Molag Grunda. We are now able to freely move fighters from the Hollow City to the heart of Coldharbour. Khajiit must say that he is really enjoying this Coldharbour quest line!

tbh, I sort of like the ruby color of some of the weapons too, particularly the staves when Jo'zira was wearing the Orc robes. Personally I think it depends on the weapon and the style. For something like Covenant style weapons, the ruby color is gross.

Yay! Khajiit isn't alone! Khajiit does think the style of the weapon would determine if it looks good or not.
Acadian
I agree. Happily, the Bosmer style for staves suits Buffy well. Some styles (Altmer, Imperial) seem two dimensional. Some styles (Khajiit, Argonian, Nord) are simply too big for her small frame. And the coloring of the Bosmer staves is interesting, natural-looking and not overdone.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Lol, have you guys and gals ever spun your character on the character select screen? It kind of funny!

Yes, it took me quite awhile to figure out that I could do that - turn her around as well as zoom in while in the char select screen.

Lol, well you know how you can use your mouse and rotate your character on the select screen? If you hold the button down while hovering over your character, jerk the mouse and then let the button go, your character will spin around and around really fast like a top. Your character then "reacts" to it!

In other news, Mira got a super cool crossbow pistol today! It doesn't do a lot of damage but this one thinks it looks badass when Mira fires it!

Mira just returned from the Battle of the Planar Vortex. Supposedly we "put an end" to the Planemeld. Now Varen wants to discuss the final confrontation with Bal.

You'll understand soon enough (okay maybe not but I'll explain it then because spoilers)
TheCheshireKhajiit
Ok, Mira just finished God of Schemes. That was fun!! Man, Mira was owning fools left and right! Got some good pics too!

Also, that Coldharbour Ash Black looks good on the highlights of her armor!
monkeyemoness
Coldharbour Ash Black is as good a black as I'm ever going to get tbh. It's nice enough, tho. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I said it before but the final quest is the most gloriously anime sequence ever, but in a good way. Very cathartic.

And I swear that even though Hates-White-Rats' name was a deliberate reference to a certain Magical Girl anime, I did so without knowing what we'd get at the end.

Anyways, I just now realized why Eolan has about 250k gold while the other two just barely hit 100k again. It's the food. All the excess food in his inventory sells much more than Hates' alchemy reagents (since they accumulate slowly, but when they sell she's instantly rich as well) and Jo's runes (since my first reaction is to leave them behind/destroy them)
TheCheshireKhajiit

QUOTE(Acadian @ Apr 28 2017, 01:27 PM) *

Khajiit doesn't really understand the Silver. "Touch the Light of Meridia and see the world through the eyes of your former enemies"?

In any case, this one is thinking that he may give Feng some attention, but Mira will probably go do some stuff in Wrothgar or Craglorn.
Acadian
The Silver drops you into the opening quests of one of the other Alliances where you do the key quests for that Alliance (you can do more/all is you like). You can come and go as you like and are not 'stuck' there. The main reward for completing Silver is the Soul Shriven motif. Then Cadwell will offer you to do the same thing again for the final Alliance (Gold) for which you get a silly looking cookpot you can wear on your head. biggrin.gif

Buffy completed Silver and is now questing in Wrothgar.

"Back in the day" you pretty much HAD to do Silver and Gold to survive in Craglorn. (Which was at about level v10 minimum, never mind the group requirement) This was also before Wrothgar, so there wasn't any other option when it came to leveling through quests. :V

These days there isn't much of an incentive to do the Silver and Gold zones IMO, outside of the Motif (since it's bound to your account there's no other way to get one) and Collectible (if you don't have it yet). Primal, Barbaric, Ancient Elf and Daedric motifs and style material can be found everywhere now, and 50% of provisioning recipe drops are based on your level, as are material nodes.

I guess you can also experience the other alliances if you haven't played through them, but I made one character per alliance from the start so it didn't really matter much to me, outside of seeing different outcomes to quests based on the character's choices. By Gold I was skipping dialogue, though. Whoops.

Khajiit definitely wants that motif but we couldn't care less about the silly cauldron helm; none of this one's characters would ever wear it.

I enjoyed the Silver since it was my first exposure to the Daggerfall Covenant. It was also a nice excuse/framework to gather all the skyshards in the DC areas. And it also netted from skill points from the DC Alliance quests as well.

As you recall, I have multiple versions of Buffy. The primary of these are the magplar healer and the magsorc dps. The magsorc is going through the Coldharbour questlines now and she has always felt rather skittish to me since she relies on pets, magic shielding and lightning. Well, she was poking around a world boss's area (Dwemer centurian) and accidently aggro'd his minions. As she started running away she realized both summons remained and were fully engaged. Well, she is just too devoted and nurturing to abandon them so she went back to see Spike (clannfear) and Drusilla (winged matriarch) holding their own vs the minions (boss not involved yet). So Buffy helped them out. As soon as the minions were gone, the boss came to life!

Well, Spike charged into him so what could Buffy do? She buffed all three of them with magic shielding, debuffed the boss, and started pouring on the thunder and lightning. Playing careful attention to make sure that Spike's shielding was up that Drusilla was healing him while Buffy was pouring out damage the fight actually settled into something that looked like it just might work. It all relied on Spike's ability to tank.

Sure enough, it took Buffy some time to carve through 2 million hp but Spike gave her the safety to do exactly that. When that big metal man fell, I can't describe how much self-confidence it gave Buffy. Not to mention deep appreciation for her steadfast helpers, Spike and Dru.

The significance of this fight is that it really (in my mind) puts magsorc Buffy up in the same league as her healing magplar version. In fact, this was a fight that the magplar likely could not have won.

Song of Lamae requires you to have researched 5 traits for the item you wish to craft in that set. Looks like Mira has researched 5 or more traits in the 3 items she can craft there but not for more yet.

The crafting set stations you find in early areas feature sets that require few traits to be researched. As you move on to more advanced areas of an alliance, the craftible sets you can make there require more traits learned.

Magsorcs are a one-mage army and those pets are what got Jo'zira through Craglorn the first time around. They're great.

TIL that pickpocketing mages can net you Soul Gems as decorations. And I mean actual soul gems that you can pick up in the world, not the crappy "soul gems" that you can buy from achievement vendors. Jo has a Lesser Soul gem in his Sleek Creek house where his enchanting station will be now. I also learned you have to launder things before you can place them in your home. Gross.

WOW, Acadian! I'm duly impressed by Buffy soloing a World Boss O.o

I need to get Tasrin-jo out a bit more - she's going magsorc, and I recently saw one of those destroy a dolmen. Ervesa is fun for stealthing but not exactly optimal for fighting - I may have to look up a Nightblade build at some point instead of just muddling through, as she's started having trouble with dungeon bosses. :/ Downside of the scaling system - in most other games I could manage a nonoptimal build by just overlevelling, here I get the impression she's getting steadily weaker as time goes on.

In the meantime, Adryn has fallen back into her old habits and joined the Thieves' Guild at Abah's Landing. I'm crossing my fingers that I can do that questline without, y'know, killing anything. Getting Adryn levelled has proven to be a real headache due to her restrictions, and I am 100% taking tips on ways to get XP without killing anything.

Feng-do has done some of the TG quests and the very first one had us having to fight. For the most part though, stealth is key.

Congrats to Mira on finishing her Coldharbour business! I enjoy that part of the questline very much.

Congrats to Buffy on her world boss victory! That must have been a grueling battle, but she is a determined elf. A magsorc with team in full fury is a sight to behold! smile.gif

Kazaera, I have the same issues with Lildereth (stamina-Nightblade-bow) doing the Thieves Guild questline. She took a break and worked on her stealth, which helped a lot. To level she spent some time with groups at dolmens. It was pretty awful, but better for her than all of the various quests which would eventually put her toe-to-toe with a boss. It’s good to have other characters to spend time with for a break when things get frustrating. Now she enjoys the thief dailies, but it was rough until we got the hang of it.

Some random thoughts from Jerric’s world. I may have mentioned it before, but I adore the scholar personality on Darnand. I gave him one of the slightly tousled hairstyles, so now with his nose always in a book it looks as if his hair has just fallen into his eyes. I thought that running with the book would look silly, but on him it’s endearing. He likes to travel with Tythis. The two of them crack me up with all of their note-taking.

Another thing, I think they “fixed” the Markarth Bear Dog’s annoying bark by removing it. Hopefully that was not a mistake. Jerric loves that dog, but if the bark comes back I’m sending him on vacation. (The dog. Not the Nord.)

The puffy shirt costume looks ridiculous. It is a favorite of Jerric’s. I have even dyed it a dark color, but then he just looks like a flavored marshmallow man instead of a regular one. I think it’s the boots that he likes so much. Now I have a reason to anticipate the next month’s costume offerings. Fingers crossed for cool boots with a shirt that doesn’t hurt my eyes.
