@mALX - thanks so much for that screenshot, that's a beautiful arrangement and gives me a great idea of what you can do with that room! I was frustrated because I like to use the furnished preview for an idea of what the room can look like at its best and the furnished option for that room just has a cheap bedroll and some candles... not particularly impressive, hmph!
And yeah, working with the Tribunal is FANTASTIC. It's great to see them at the height of their powers or close to it when in Morrowind you really saw them at their lowest point. Totally looking forward to meeting Almalexia, and the next expansion *rubs hands together*.
ETA: OH YEAH one frustrating thing about that quest - Tasrin-jo has gone light armour (because she's a mage), which means she doesn't get the sneak detection range bonus from medium armor. I'm starting to think I might have to train her up in that just for thieving because it's a serious advantage, and on this quest in particular not having it really shows. :/
@Acadian - well, I'll admit that I've wanted to start a Morrowind-inspired character for a while, especially after initial explorations of Stonefalls with Tasrin-jo made it clear there was no way she'd ever be comfortable there. This has mainly given me an excuse to explore a bit while Tasrin-jo ferments- er, waits.

Yes, if she plans to be sneaky she really needs the added bonuses of the Medium armor if possible; but also under Ledgerdomain there are two that will help her too: "Improved Hiding," and "Light Fingers."
Although Misa has not ever been a pick-pocket, she took all levels of both of those; and all of the levels of sneak in the Medium armor line. she can normally sneak almost next to someone and not be noticed while wearing Medium armor now; but early on she needed potions to assist her.
Detection and Invisibility potions using water as high as your character's level is for the best results and longest lasting; and take the Alchemy passive skill that makes potions last longer (because the Invisibility potion has a 45 second cooldown, so you have to find a hiding spot quickly between runs).
If she is a Nightblade, use the Shadow Cloak to go invisible for a few seconds, it gives you time to pass tight situations.
Test out these ingredients to see which gives you the best result with the least bad side effect: (because some combinations do have the same harmful effect as another; causing the potion to be damaging instead of helpful) (so read the effects carefully after combining them before committing yourself to drinking that in a dungeon, lol).
Detection Potions:
Corn Flower
Torchbug Thorax
White Cap
Wormwood
Invisibility Potion:
Blue Entoloma
Namira's Rot
Nirnroot
Spider Eggs
And thank you so much for your congratulations above !!! I was tickled pink to pass that Trial = and Misa made it through without dying once, so that was pretty exciting!
Oh, and I absolutely fell in love with Almalexia!!!!
On a totally unrelated note: Since buying the Dye Station and the plans for the Target Dummy; I have been spending all my Vouchers on the random grab bag of housing plans the Master Writ Vendor sells = and become addicted to it, lol.
It is like Christmas or my Birthday = getting an unknown present every time I get one of those darn things! It is soaking up all my vouchers and not leaving any for the Ebony armor, lol.
Actually, have not gotten any I wanted yet, but ... still hoping for the big score, lol.

After just buying me 1100 Crowns for my (last week of February) Birthday, when I mentioned to my son last week that I might be buying another 5500 Crowns (because I was already out of them) if the Banker and Merchant went on sale in March, Max looked at me suspiciously and asked if I had been buying Crown Crates,

I wonder who he knows that has become addicted to opening them?
It isn't me, but I will freely admit I would most def have a problem stopping them once I started, lol. (Which is why I can't let myself start). At least the grab bag of plans is earned through hard work in game; not actual hard work and real money in the Real World,

@mALX - thank you thank you THANK YOU! I didn't even think of using potions, I have a real issue with using consumables. Those are some super handy tips, especially the ingredients that have each effect! With this, I think my plan is set to come back later when Tasrin-jo has the sneak skills in medium armour with a whole heap of potions and see if I can muddle through.
And now I'm looking forward to meeting Almalexia
even more. I have plans for Adryn: Tribunal (watch me get SUPER ahead of myself, yes) and a believable and positive Almalexia characterisation is something I've been wracking my brains over. I felt like a lot of people give her short shrift, and it makes sense because she's really not set up as a likeable character in Tribunal (lol UNDERSTATEMENT) but I still always wanted to do more with her... so I really want to see her at the height of her powers and see how she acts and comes off. ANYWAY.
Good for you on knowing your weakness re: Crown Crates! I'm trying to hold off on buying crowns beyond the monthly subscription bonus myself. It's hard, because I want to buy
all the appearance options all of them.

monkey, congratulations on finishing those two styles! Wow!
mALX, congrats on Aetherian Archive! Way to go!
Kazaera, I find the TG quests very stressful. Lildereth has still not completed the questline. I am excited that Adryn might come to ESO!
Jerric’s crew is at the point where everyone needs skill points for crafting to keep up with Jerric, and he just wants to get through the early CP levels to end this game-y gear leveling. Pog can make about one piece of furniture per day, which is fine since the rest of the crew’s houses are a long way away down various faction questlines. Elke had a blast last night in Toothmaul Gully. She went in alone but quickly found herself shadowed by a Nightblade who liked to move in stealth. After two goblin encounters they had an unspoken system worked out that lasted through the dungeon. Fun.

Mar 13 2017, 01:52 PM
Grits, that is so neat for Elke! That is our fave way of 'grouping' - what I call 'random same way same day'. Buffy healing/buffing/debuffing from the rear is usually welcome as it still gives the other player the glory. Lol. And I've found the same thing in that after a couple engagements, players usually silently and readily adapt to each others style.
Buffy quite enjoys the challenge of adapting what she does to the style of others. She finds dungeons, dolmens and world bosses all great for this.

Heh, I have a trait chart for Haa-Rei and Cirinwe drawn out. Makes everything so much easier to manage!
Kazaera
Mar 15 2017, 08:34 PM
*looks at trait charts* I am deeply, deeply impressed by all of your organisational skills

@Grits and @Acadian - I've had the random grouping happen before and it's definitely fun! I'm not yet at the point of being able to adapt my strategy, really (or
having much of a strategy beyond AAH KILL IT WITH FIRE) but it's always fun to see how I and another player mesh and there have been a few battles I only won because someone else wandered in at just the right time.
Just now, I had a beautifully, perfectly Adryn moment...
As I mentioned in the screenshot thread, the primary conceit of Adryn is that she doesn't fight. Anything. Ever. I'm leaning VERY heavily on stealth to get by; the furthest I'm willing to stretch on combat skills is the Nightblade stun skill since it's handy for getting stuff next to lone enemies and doesn't do enough damage to kill anything.
So I'm wandering Stonefalls, testing how well this works, grabbing mats and very definitely ignoring any quest marker that pops up since "does not fight" makes most quests pretty impossible. It's working quite well, there's a bunch of areas where the only wildlife seem to be neutral guar, I've given a wide berth to the Sulfur Pools area which is crawling with shalk, I'm just passing an Argonian with a quest marker...
Then I hear said Argonian say, in a deep and mournful tone, "All my guar... gone."
And suddenly I find myself walking back towards him.
At this point, you may imagine that Adryn and I had the following conversation:
QUOTE
Me: Uh. Adryn. You can't fight.
Adryn: Believe me, I know.
Me: All you can do is run away.
Adryn: I know. I'm the one who goes through all the nonsense you write for me! You really don't have to tell me this!
Me: Then why on earth do you think it's a good idea to do a quest out here?
Adryn: It's a terrible idea! I'm probably going to die! I really don't want to do this!
Me: I reiterate. WHY.
Adryn: ...he just sounds so pathetic that I can't help myself.
We did, in fact, manage to rescue all of Pathetic Argonian's guar, but there was a
significant amount of running away screaming involved, including one chase scene where trying to escape from a shalk somehow made me end up with two alits on my tail. I have to say that Adryn's antics are a lot more fun when I'm in control of the plot and not the hapless Dunmer in question.
Next time, I'll have to remind her that I totally have another character wandering Stonefalls, one who is full of chivalry and heroic derring-do and always delighted to go round up random guar for pathetic Argonians, and who can also
actually kill things.

Heh, that strikes me all the time when Buffy gets, "I'm no fighter, but you look like you can handle yourself and get my worthless relic back from the clan of vampires who stole it. . . . ' That the questgiver is often a guy with biceps bigger than Buffy's waist just emphasizes the point.
Had a wonderful visit at Haa-Rei's house with Jerric and Argis the Bulwark today. We all played in the water while pretending to give Haa-Rei decorating advice. He has a beautiful place near Arenthia.
Buffy had an adventure this morning that she's quite proud of. She discovered a dolmen and wanted to close it. But no one was around to help. As a healer, she has found soloing a dolmen beyond her ability. She has taken out the original cultists solo before but has always had others join her before she got squashed. Not so today. After she took out the cultists, she then took out a couple daedra - with quite a bit of running at the fringes trying not to get swarmed. Lots of running and gunning and whirling of Aedric spears under powerful auras later, the dolmen was closed. And she was still completely by herself so a legit solo dolmen closing. I don't think it is such a 'By Azura!' accomplishment for a solid damage fighter but given that most of Buffy's slotted skills are healing/support abilities, she was justifiably proud of herself. She'll never deliver huge damage but her secret is healing (herself in this case) faster than foes can hurt her while delivering reasonable damage.

@hazmick - Yeah, I did the same back when I was still researching traits. (lol, more on that in a bit) I did have an addon to keep track of them, but I found it was much more useful as a timer. It tended to be less than accurate when it came to recently learned traits and what was available for research in the bank.
That said, I recently started researching traits on new and existing characters so, yeah...
As far as dumb questgivers go, I often thought it was the way one carried themselves that gave away the "everything in front of me dies" impression and they generally don't judge based on first appearances. After all, a dude with big biceps might be better at manual labor than using them for smashing things, but a soft cat with the voice of a ten year old can give the impression that he knows how to turn himself into an electric mass of death incarnate, and it'd be correct.
On the other, playing Ruben has me going "nope, you're wrong" whenever someone says he looks capable. What I'm saying is that they need to get better at reading people. Learn how to pick out the walking death machines from the babies. They save money and are less likely to be disappointed that way. And get people killed I guess.
Anyways, the pack mule finally mastered Equipment crafting so he's finally useful for another teeny tiny chance at master writs. On the subject, they really need to change the way they calculate the worth in Vouchers, if they do it at all. Mercenary-style Twice-Born Star equipment should be worth more than 7 vouchers.
Oh, and Eolan got the Ebony motif book, too.

Kazaera, I’m delighted that Adryn is able to be Adryn in a killing-focused environment. I love that she helped the Argonian gather up his guar. Even with running and screaming.
monkey, congrats on the motif and equipment skill progress! Jerric has found two Ra Gada chapters in treasure chests and both times felt like he won the lottery. It must be a great feeling to complete the rare books.
Jerric spent a lovely afternoon strolling around Craglorn, completely unarmed. He did not plan to do this. In fact he did not plan to do anything but drop off his Provisioning writ at the Belkarth location, but it was a nice day so he decided to go for a walk. When set upon by jackals he discovered that after the waterfall party at Haa-Rei and friends’ house, he had never re-equipped his weapons. Instead he had accidentally dumped them in the bank along with the rest of the day’s haul, and Elke had most likely ground them up in her crafting efforts.
But he was carrying a staff that she had made for him to use once he hit the next level, and he still had his fists. So rather than head back to town and request another weapon from Elke, he wandered Craglorn punching things to death (and using his spells) until he got two more CP and could equip the new staff.
It was mostly empty of players probably due to the Thieves Guild event, but one guy took an interest. He kept coming back to watch Jerric fight. So if you hear tales of some idiot Nord all by himself in the desert starting fistfights with orcs, wasps, and welwas, you will know who it was!

One of the Guilds I'm a member of is getting all the Attuneable Stations under one roof for the use of all the members (the Daggerfall Castle house) = they also started with the Imperial City stations; and already have Armor Master and Redistributer set up there. When they finish the IC ones, they are doing that really bad one in Hews Bane next (Clever Alchemist?) that you have to fight through a walled city full of enemies to reach, lol.
Anyone in the Guild is welcome to use them - comes in handy for doing the Master Writs. If anyone here wants an invite to that Guild to access those hard to get to crafting stations, let me know and I'll send you an invite.

Haa-Rei finished questing in Craglorn yesterday, and began the Dominion today. We're just going to work through slowly and casually, since it has only been a couple of weeks since Cirinwe did it all. It'll be a good opportunity to gather crafting mats too.
Tsarakiri continues with the dark Brotherhood. We only have a couple of quests left there, but that's still lots of assassin contracts in between.

I found my progress through zones I've done to be the opposite. By the time the squad got to their respective Cadwell's Gold I pretty much plowed through everything (actually, I started with Silver, since I wanted to grind out Veteran levels. Those were dark times)
But congrats for getting though Craglorn. My feelings on the zone are...complicated to say the least. (Although playing through the questline reminded me of the positive things)
For the first time Ruben's hike to King's Guard in search of Blessed Thistle didn't end with him almost dying. He's getting better at learning where massive bands of bandits patrol so there's that. If only he could amass a decent amount of Thistle so his hikes aren't as frequent. Considering he's a sorcerer, maybe Jo'zira will teach him how to use those skills for self defense. He's only at level 8 and almost has all of Glenumbra's skyshards so that's unlikely.

Not really "today" (as with most of my posts, tbh), but I was really close to dropping the extra crafting mule and then this is what he got from the daily writs.

...but then they're only 5 vouchers each. Since I can't keep up with the daily demand for materials and Eolan's supply of Rubedite has dropped to
a single flipping stack I'm going to drop him anyways. At least from equipment writs.
Anyways, Hates and Eolan finished the Thieves Guild motif, and the entire squad bought up Outlaw while they were still cheap. I hope the special boxes that sometimes drop motifs are kept for the live version of the Jester's Festival. Still kinda sorta farming Abah's Watch and to a lesser extent, Draugr.
Funny thing is while Eolan's supply of equipment materials are quickly dropping, he's the richest of all 3 of them, while the other two easily have 1k Ruby Ash/Ancestor Silk/Rubedo Leather but are hopelessly broke.
Has Eolan been selling materials behind my back? ??? ???????

Jerric’s first festival quest pushed him over CP100. He got his new costume in the mail while standing at the party tent. It was clearly a sign from the gods, or at least from a being of power who has a sense of humor. Jerric is attending the Jesters Festival attired as Mannimarco.

The festival is so fun! Haa-Rei did all 3 quests today and got the crown - now he can focus on getting all the achievements to unlock the jester tree for purchase at the furnisher.
The achievement with the pig will be the tricky one, but I have some ideas.

A friend of mine got on his horse and used "Rapid Maneuvers" = shot through town and didn't stop till he got to the other side of that bridge out of town. Princess was right behind him!

Holy Cow, Craglorn!!! Awesome, Congrats !!!

I got another one today. It was worth 7!
Anyways, I haven't done much of the Jester's Festival and I already feel burnt out. :V It could also be that I'm playing Tales of Berseria and I'm really invested in that.
I dunno what it is but asside from piggy theft, the quests aren't as engaging as the other festivals'. Also piggy theft guarantees a bounty so...yeah, I don't find much of a fun factor aside from playing with new toys.
That said, I found that taking the pig without being spotted is pretty easy. As soon as you leave the Argonian district, just sneak. If you don't rush you'll be able to avoid the butcher.
Good thing the toys seem to have a high droprate. I'm only doing these quests with Jo'zira, tbh. He's going to have so may poppers and flower crown beams! Dear god, I think I'm going to destroy the extra runeboxes I get this time around, tbh.
I also remembered that the magical boxes full of completely good stuff is for the Anniversary event (that I forgot was coming after this one) so I can at least look forward to that.

I have been enjoying throwing cherry blossoms on everyone (since I got the branch in my first grab-box, lol) - and absolutely LOVE seeing people doing the Jester emotes and wearing the hats!
But, yeah = not as much fun or variety of things to do.
And which one was it that we are supposed to get gift boxes in our writ rewards? I remember getting them on the PTS, but can't remember which upcoming festival that was for!

Jerric’s misspent youth is paying off with the Princess rescues. Poor Elke spent a long time huddled under the bridge hiding from guards today. Jerric’s prank was again flawless. He doesn’t even sneak when he takes the apples. He just strolls in, shrugs at the bounty, goes fishing, and then absconds with the pork. I mean, with the pig.

I love the flower petal thingy. So does Jerric. He touched off a round of tar-and-feather in Vulkhel Guard using the mud balls and flower branch. (The petals don't really stick to the mud, but it's fun to try.) Great to see people enjoying the festival!

Jo'zira spent his time in Auridon spraying people with the Flower Crown Beam. They all looked beautiful. I was going to follow it up with playing with the dazzlers in the Undaunted bases, but I'm saving that for tomorrow since I just got through sidequest hell in Tales of Berseria so now I'm gonna finish it He has like, six hat dazzlers, which is great. I'm probably going to get Eolan to make the food for everyone, too.
EDIT: I only just remembered because I logged into the house, but the Squad ended up moving the crafting stations in Strident Springs Demense up to the tower. I got tired of having to reposition the stations because the placement as the cell loaded made the activators unusable sometimes. Now that they're on permanent ground hopefully it won't happen anymore. I'm going to miss having them right outside the house and I don't know what I'm going to do with the attuneable ones, since just the 3 take up all the space in the tower.

While Tasrin-jo takes a well-deserved holiday on the beaches of Auridon after her harrowing experience in the first Thieves' Guild quest, Ervesa and Adryn are at loggerheads over housing. They've been working together so far to furnish their tiny little inn room in Ebonheart, but they've been looking at bigger houses and have run into a problem...
I've had so much difficulty furnishing even the smallest of houses that it's clear to me anything beyond a small dwelling is out of the question. Originally, I was thinking about the house in Kragenmoor. Then Adryn visited Bal Foyen to check out this enemy-free resource material run she heard about, looked at Humblemud out of curiosity, and...
Adryn: It has a garden!
Ervesa: It's made of mud.
Adryn: But a garden! I could grow my own ingredients! Look at all that space!
Ervesa: THERE IS A HOLE IN THE ROOF.
Adryn: Do you have any better suggestions, then?
So an outside area suitable for growing plants is a must. Ervesa, who's just finished a gazillion quests dealing with Covenant invasions (she's recently come away with the Stonefalls Adventurer achievement, which she is quite proud of), is uneasy living anywhere outside of Pact areas, preferably Morrowind. I've pushed her into Wrothgar in hopes of getting her to lighten up but so far she's holding firm.
I've struggled so much with furnishing even the free housing area that anything beyond a small house is unthinkable until Adryn gets her crafting skills up far enough that we can make our own furniture (which won't be anytime soon). Ervesa refuses to live in a ball of mud. That leaves the little house in the Rift, but Adryn refuses to live there - she's not the greatest fan of Skyrim in general, of the Rift in particular, and that's not even counting the time she went on a totally innocent skyshard-hunting/mat-gathering trip there in ESO and there were SO MANY SABERCATS WHY. I'm trying to persuade her but, again, holding firm.
My current plan is to wait for Vvardenfell and hope there's an acceptable small house there. Alternatively, Adryn seems to be abandoning plan Furnish The Inn Room in favour of saving up for Humblemud all on her lonesome. She's claiming she'd be perfectly fine with just a bedroll in the house itself as long as she gets that garden.

I feel you on the "characters" part Kaze (furniture too, mostly because I can't even find the plans I want for sale). I had a hard time deciding which house would be picked for my characters' "hub" mostly because of each character's quirks. The interior couldn't be too open (Eolan), it couldn't be easy to get lost in (Jo'zira) and it had to be in a defensible position (Hates), not to mention a place where the locals wouldn't hate them (Matiisen Manor, specifically, which also didn't suit Eolan). And so on.
It also had to be comfortable for both an apething from a moderate climate and an amphibious lizard. The cat isn't even organic, so he could live anywhere. "Technically on the West Weald" was the best middle ground I could find. :V
Anyways, now that it has my full attention I realized that my biggest problem with the Jester's Festival quests is the DC one. The delve section really drags it out and makes it unfun. The guaranteed bounty (because a questgiver is permanently there and counts as a witness) makes the EP one something you save for last, which is okay since IMO it's the best one of the bunch. The AD one is meh.
Also, I realized that I could stretch each one to fit the characters of each alliance and their temperaments. Sorta. Again, the AD one is...adequate. I'm sure I'll make up a reason why it fits Jo'zira. (Actual foolery and general criminal activities for Hates and delving into ruins for Eolan, hth)
Today I made a push to get every character to do the quests at least once and Jo'zira's only a Camoran Throne recipe away from the Jester title. Eolan and the Crafting Monkey already have a full set of the recipes, so at least everyone got to try them out while the festival's going on. It took a while for the New Life ones, tbh.
Okay festival. Can't wait for the 2nd (3rd?) Anniversary event.

Have you checked out the little Khajiit house in Kynarthi's Roost? It doesn't have a garden, but it is sitting on nice vegetable growing farmland and the Khajiiti vegetable farmers meet just a ways out front of the house to sell their bounty. It is a cute little house, pretty.

I'm having trouble liking doing the festival quests too; but did notice an unusually good drop rate for furniture crafting plans and even some purple motifs at their chests; so have been circling by each numerous times per day.
Both Misa and Bubba have their full achievements for the festival; the rest are all waiting for that same recipe you need, lol. Two of them still need to get the 50 sparklers set off; but get closer every time they do the quests. And I'm getting bored with doing the quests, so some may not get their full achievements on this.

Thanks for all the housing tips, all! The house in Khenarthi's Roost, although delightful, doesn't satisfy Adryn's garden requirements. (A communal zone won't cut it). And although Velothi's Reverie is basically perfect in terms of style, location and courtyard, it's... too big.

Four rooms plus a cellar plus hallway - there's no way I can furnish that anytime soon. Something for the future, perhaps...
All that said, the Imperial house at the tradepost has real potential. Ervesa is still kvetching about enemy territory, but I might punt her over to Valenwood for a few quests to see if that makes her reconsider. I have a bunch of crafting surveys in Greenshade and Grahtwood (guess who only just realised how those work?), and she's been handling Wrothgar pretty well. Running ludicrous culinary expeditions for a demented Orc chef and all. ("Two Daedric princes agree: Not cannibalism!")
I must say, I do love the way I can just explore. I'm used to content in MMOs being way more level-gated than this!

That's the beauty of One Tamriel. One of my main dislikes is material collecting but I loves it overall.
I decided to just limit Jo to the Auridon quest from now on. He still needs the recipe but I'm gonna take it slow.
Also Hates and Eolan finished Abah's Watch Motif. idk how far I'm going to go with these. I've been considering Glass, too, but it's too expensive. I feel like I should stop before I find myself farming Ancient Orc again. I guess we'll see come the Anniversary event. At the very least I'm going to finish Dwemer and Dark Brotherhood, too. I figure the extra 300 gold per quest helps in the long run.
Also Mazzatun is still stupid-expensive. The Crafting Monkey got Helmets and Boots before he was out of money. Around 80k altogether I think.

Jerric is still enjoying the Jester’s Festival. It’s hard for him to pick a favorite quest. The Glenumbra one lets him “blow skitt up” at no cost to his magicka, plus he never gets tired of delves. The Auridon quest makes him think fondly of Abiene wearing only sweat and flower petals. And the Stonefalls livestock misappropriation quest is right in his wheelhouse. He and Princess still have a perfect record vs The Butcher.
If anyone wants to see the “small” festival tree, there’s one in our Flaming Nix room. I’ll set that as the Primary Residence. This item is not intended as an indoor decoration. Jerric thought it would be funny to prank Lleduri by filling her apartment with tree.

I'm pretty sure their sale is limited to the festival; but don't know that for a fact. (so you were really smart to grab them up even if you don't have a spot to put them yet).
Those trees = I do love the falling leaves on them, and they are kind of a nice memento of the Auridon and Runebox part of that festival!
And the Runeboxes: I really do enjoy tossing those cherry leaves on people; and really hope it continues to make a glowy crown on other's heads after the festival ends.
But my favorite thing is those fireworks, lol. And last night I managed to get a couple of those fireworks as quest rewards (FINALLY!) to set off at the next Guild Hall meeting, lol.
For a couple days there I didn't get any of them; and that "Throne" recipe doesn't seem to have dropped since day 2 of the festival. I've got 3 characters just waiting for it to get their achievement, urk.
