So say hey to House No. 27! As for furnishing it, that will take a long time. Conservatory may not be open for business until some time next year. blink.gif laugh.gif wink.gif

That you even got this far is pretty impressive, imo. I imagine furnishing the place will be a true test of your skills. Can't wait to see the final product. :U

Today in Tamriel: I think about what to do with my Writ Vouchers. I've had enough to get some attunable Jewelry stations for a while now, so I got some extras. I wonder if the patch comes with new furnishings. I actually forgot to check lol Furnishing patterns from Morrowind and Summerset are supposed to drop more often in their respective areas with the patch, so maybe it's not smart to buy the random ones. Guess I'll wait and see.

(Also, if you're reading this, Grits, thanks for the Writs!)
Darkness Eternal
Today in Tamriel Irvana Decumus went to Cyrodiil to support the war effort. After a series of raids in local areas of resources belonging to the Aldmeri Dominion, her group met considerable resistance in one of their strongholds. Our siege weapons did little good as we were repelled and Irvana had to retreat but not before being set upon a Templar vampire. It was quite amusing as Irvana battled her sister in blood, only to get the upper hand and lose it moments later as the scales tipped between the two. Her opponent was fourteen levels beneath her but was quite formidable(especially with that ultimate healing ability. . .)

When Irvana was close to defeat she backed away while her enemy healed herself completely through magical means. Irvana summoned her white horse, though was stopped in her tracks by a boulder. Unable to maneuver in time she was struck by a spear from her adversary and flung off her mount. . .

As a last resort she jumped into the lake to swim to safety and her opponent relentlessly trailed behind.

Irvana and her opponent both met their match as the razor-sharp teeth of vicious slaughterfish. laugh.gif

Classic over pursuit. In warfare, you gotta know when not to pursue your enemy.

Well, yesterday in Tamriel - Laurie got another couple of sealed writs, and could actually do one of them. A whole five more vouchers towards her next crafting station. She still hasn't even started the Nirnhoned research for the shield, as the previous trait is still in progress. The same is true for the gloves, so we'll wait a bit before we send some nirncrux off to start learning those.

The other one was provisioning, and she doesn't know the recipe. We'll just wait until that pops up, as two vouchers don't exactly make it urgent.

Everyone's moved into the Golden Gryphon Garret. The tiny room will be used only for sleeping since they're inside the inn anyways. :v

It's not much different than their Clockwork City accommodations aside from having their own private room to themselves so they can keep their stuff out in the open behind a locked door.

Adventure awaits.

We confirmed that the Morrowind content has become ESO Plus DLC by visiting with Unna, who discovered half-a-dozen of the wayshrines, did one quest, and came back. I didn't want to start any more, as Unna's acquired too many unfinished quests, and needs to clean up her journal before she can't take the daily crafting quests.

Then I created Minx of Morrowind, who's still on Bleakrock, levelling up. I decided to give in and make her a Nightblade, as becoming a proper Thief is more important than balancing out the classes. So far all her skill points have been spent according to the level-up advisor, in the NB class skills. When she gets to the mainland, she'll be able to get crafting certified, and that will probably mean at least one point in Clothier for the Keen Eye. Then I'll likely send her over to Vvardenfell, and park her at the Saint Delyn Penthouse, assuming that I get that quest started correctly. Since she's at a low enough level to harvest 100% Jute, she's helping with the shortage all the others experience. I may have to work on keeping her level down.

The others just did their crafting dailies, and banked the proceeds. We're pretty close to buying Blossom a home at Mournoth Keep, which will be as bare as everyone else's for a while. However, Laurie does know a few Orcish plans, so it won't be completely empty.

I haven't bought Summerset, so I can't do jewelry crafting, but I've seen where the new stations have been added. In a lot of cases, they replaced one of two enchanting stations, so the throng around the remaining one is thicker. I don't understand how it also created more pets and bankers. Minx hasn't seen any nodes for JC materials, but I can't tell if the other nodes are reduced to allow for them. PTS experience suggests that mineral nodes were replaced randomly, so Minx may be seeing nothing when that happens.

We also noted that instead of half the players riding the "free with pre-order" senche, there's now a glut of the strawberry jello horse that's a part the deluxe edition of the release. Unna still just wants a white bear.
monkeyemoness
Jewelry research is going okay considering I saved some up before the patch. (Even if my bank is full now). Fjotreid even found an Exemplary Infused Ring inside his first Temporal Rift, and the Crafting Monkey found a full chunk of Aurbic Amber, so I now have 2 Infused rings for research. :U

As far as Sapiarch Motifs go, I found a Legs yesterday but I couldn't find one today. At the very least Jo'zira only really needs 3 pieces, and legs was one of them. Hopefully I find one tomorrow.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Brenna ran around for a little bit on the outskirts of Sentinel. She discovered a platinum vein and completed 12 voucher enchantment writ which required her to obtain an essence rune she had never seen before.

Moved Minx into the Penthouse. Laurie made her a bed, chest of drawers, a couple of chairs, and some pots we'll put plants in later. While Laurie was over on Vvardenfell, she toured the wayshrines on the East side, and we'll go back to Sayda Neen and do the West coast tomorrow.

And then Blossom emptied the bank, and bought Mournoth Keep. We don't know much Orc furnishing, so she just has a bedroll for now. I may play on the PTS and figure out what we need first.

haute ecole rider
Or you can pop over to Maz's Mournoth Keep and check out the furnishings. I think you already know it's essentially done.

Easy to do if you have PTF add-on.

Blossom is too busy getting her crafting levels up. She's reached mastery in equipment - Clothier, Smithing, Woodworking - this weekend, and will do provisioning next. The main shortage she has is skill points, as she's learned all the alchemy effects, has a decent portfolio of recipes, and knows all but one of the aspect runes. So she's doing main quest stuff, as that guarantees skill points, and hunting for the above-ground skyshards in all the areas she's been to for surveys. And doing more of those, to help empty the storage coffer.

Unna and Laurie have taken CP past 300, and are both doing Craglorn, aiming for that nirnhoned item, and gathering any materials they can for the chance of a nirncrux. Laurie added a second crafting station to her home, and will be able to add more as soon as her research completes for the next master writ. That helped her pass down pieces to Blossom, without having to make trips into town. The downside was that there's not a lot of space in the home storage, but that pushed us to cashing in a lot of surveys, which was a good thing overall.

Doing the master writs to get the stations meant buying a few motifs, but only after reviewing the option of working for them. We'd still like to buy more houses, instead, even though Taminwe and Cat Man Dhou live in the Mara's Kiss room, instead of their Mathiisen Manor and Moonmirth homes. Spreads would like a home that's either near a crafting writ location, or has a wayshrine right outside, like Blossom's does.

Everyone else is just crafting and mount training. Cat Man Dhou got moved up a level in his equipment crafting, so they don't all need the same materials. We still run out of Jute all the time. The RNG AI keeps giving us Rawhide, because we don't need it. CMD is also learning motifs as we find them, so he can follow in Blossom's footsteps.

We're collecting a lot of pewter, copper, ochre and platinum, because we can't use it, but ignoring the seams goes against the grain. I know I'll get Summerset eventually, and then I'll have it all saved up. However, I'm also putting a lot of jewelry in the bank for later, and that doesn't stack. tongue.gif

Hmm, y'know, I always wondered: do Jewelry nodes drop Nirncrux? They replace Blacksmithing nodes, but it has its own traits and stones.

Speaking of Master Writs, it looks like they went ahead and put the new motifs as possible drops for the requirements instead of waiting for the next patch (at least, Fang Lair and Scalecaler are). Also idk when it happened but they increased the voucher yield of Provisioning Master Writs that call for Perfect Roe recipes and Enchanting Master Writs that call for Hakeijo. idk if it's worth it, especially for the Provisioning ones, but it's a start.

The equipment metal nodes are randomly dropping jewelry metals, so I would say you'd still get them through the regular equipment nodes in Craglorn. (I haven't gotten a nirncrux with a jewelry node yet, but haven't given up the idea that I CAN get one, laugh.gif

Oh, that scalecaller is a big glitch since the stations aren't set up to make them yet. But what you said about the provisioning and Hakeijo writs = WOO HOO! Any increase in vouchers is more than welcome !!!!

ghastley
Talking of nirncrux, and master writs, Laurie's first Nirnhoned researches have completed, and she was finally able to do a couple of writs that returned more than 2-5 vouchers. So now she has most of the basic stations at her home, and we bought the signs to celebrate. Twin Arches is starting to look inhabited.

She has a few more writs that are waiting on research completion, with the RNG AI ensuring that she has to finish a trait already in progress, before she can even start on the one the writ requires. And since she knows 7 traits on just about everything, there's an 8-trait set in there, too.

She's also been feeding research items down to Blossom, filling in her traiits grid. And anything for deconstruction goes to Cat Man Dhou. Although Unna's grabbing the clothier pieces, as she's getting close to 50 in that skill. She already smiths and works wood at max, but she's in line behind Blossom (and Cat Man Dhou) for traits, because we're just getting her out of the competition for mats. She gathers more than she uses at the top level.

Jo'zira has done enough quests in Summerset to purchase the Alinor Townhouse, which is great cause I'm sick of a 1-storage-crate house. There isn't much furniture in there but they manage. :v (The Crafting Monkey needs to level up his Jewelry Crafting a bit before he can make some of the new furnishings lol)

I managed to reset all the skill points on all my characters but two (that I didn't want to mess with) during the special price period after Summerset dropped (1 gold per skill point reset; so instead of 13,000 gold they were all under 200 gold except Misa; she was 380 or something).

I didn't know Zen was offering it, didn't find out till actually after 1 a.m. this morning; and had to hurry to do them all before the Patch when they reset the prices to the regular 13,000.

While I was resetting them anyway, I went ahead and spent the extra 3000 gold each to reset their champion points too.

Anyway, took them all out for a spin with their new skills, and WHEW! Those changes were really needed!!!

All characters are doing MUCH better now!

So WOO HOO, thanks Zen for the discounted respec's!

I noticed we had enough gold in the bank to acquire Sleek Creek, so Cat Man Dhou has moved house. He never really used Moonmirth, as it was just too far from the wayshrine and everything else. However, that place does make a decent warehouse for "outgrown" furnishings, like bedrolls. The interiors are about the same size, so after shifting all the furniture, SC looks quite well furnished inside, and almost bare outside (one light and a couple of crates and baskets).

Laurie finally got her Alchemy station, so she has the full six (no Summerset) at Twin Arches. We swapped the junipers for palms, having found out how cheap those are. The junipers were moved to Mournoth Keep, instead. Her home is looking quite cozy now, and she could upgrade her bed, but likes the size of the current wide one. She's looking for divider plans for all the houses, but especially her own.

We're determined to find and make all our furnishings (where possible, as some things like crafting stations can't be), so there's a bit of tomb raiding going on in Vvardenfell, looking for vellum lamp formulae. I tried those out on the PTS, and the St Delyn Penthouse really needs them. We looked at the market price of the formulae and decided that paying more than the price of a small house wasn't for us.

Blossom will go looking for Orcish stuff as soon as she returns from Coldharbour, where she's level-grinding right now. She has four crafting skills at Master level and the two remaining are the easier ones - Alchemy and Provisioning. We're waiting for her to gather more skill points during the Coldharbour quests before moving on those. Of course, once she gets back to Mournoth Keep, she'll remember how empty the place is.

When I get some time with Unna, she's working through the Craglorn quests, and finding the occasional nirncrux. Laurie has a few in the bag, more than her current writs need, and anyway her trait research is the limiting factor. She has writs for 8- and 9-trait sets that she can't do yet, as well as some for motifs we're not inclined to buy. Unna got a master writ for the first time, but passed it over to Laurie to do. Unna's crafting was always to support her own needs until Laurie could help, so she advanced Blacksmithing more than anything. She only mastered that and woodworking (because staves and shields drop more more often when you don't use them at all). Most of the others are still Rank 1.
ghastley
Well, Unna's well and truly stuck in Craglorn. She's trying to do the Missing Guardian quest, but the enemies have chickened out. No Lamia are spawning in the final chamber, and you have to defeat three waves of them before the boss is accessible.

Have /bug'ed and reported it on forums for good measure.

She'll have to find another quest-line to occupy her for a while.

----

We went back after waiting long enough for the dungeon to reset, and completed the quest. Had to work all the way through it again, of course, but no matter.

The Crafting Monkey finally reached a high enough level in Jewelry Crafting to gain the highest extracting passive, so I had him refine every single bit of dust I've been saving up.

Out of a combined total of over 1k Pewter and Platinum dust, I got 3 Chromium grains. Yeesh.

18 more levels till he maxes the skill out.

Today Khajiit’s crew acquired the Cyrodilic Jungle House in Malabal Tor. Bought it mostly for Feng but plan on furnishing it with a little something for everyone. The furnishings will be predominantly Khajiit, so, we are taking donations for low end furniture, lol. We need either Khajiit, Nord, Imperial, or any kind of savage/barbaric style furnishings, as long as it’s not Daedric. Also, we already have a Khajiit carpet, Khajiit single bed, Khajiit end table, and a Khajiit padded stool, so please keep that in mind if you care to donate. Thank you!

I've been dumping duplicate furnishing plans in the guild bank, on the assumption that we won't all get the same ones. I think there may be a couple of Khajiit items there. All greens and blues, as the purples never seem to appear in the wild. Laurie can make you a banner or two, and the long cushion, if you have something to trade in other styles?

We've bought quite a few plans recently, for as little as 500g. Surprisingly, that didn't make duplicates drop.

That has been that way since the beginning, Imperial furniture has always been a Crown Store item. But like was said above: It is just Breton style with a grayish coloring and reddish trim (instead of light brown with dark brown trim).

Blossom did her very first Master Writ. Usually any she gets are passed to Laurie, as she's the only one learning the motifs, but this was asking for Breton, so she did it herself. Now to finish levelling her up to champion (46 and climbing).

We already have the problem of three master crafters using up all the ruby mats, so a lot of time was spent cashing in surveys. On the plus side, Laurie isn't the only master/champion who gets all ruby any more, so Unna can do some as she quests. Once we get Blossom levelled up, she'll stop gather lower-level stuff, too.

At the other end of the scale, I may have to spend some skill points in crafting, so that everyone's not using up all the Jute. I was hoping that Cat Man Dhou would use linen, but earn jute, but he always seems to get rawhide, instead. I think I've seen more jute in the level 10 rewards that Blossom, Unna and Laurie receive.

When I find racial motif books, I've been passing them around the crew, as the guild bank has more than it needs already, but it looks like it won't be long before all of them know all the others. Even Minx, who was only rolled up when Morrowind became available via ESO+, knows four. Duplicate recipes get passed around too, but duplicate furnishing plans are being put in the guild bank. I can't see any benefit in having two character able to make the same item, so Laurie's doing all the furnishing.

My characters harvest anything they encounter; especially with the ESO+ craft bag, there's little reason not to do so. So we're slowly accumulating jewelry raw mats, and can't even refine them. Would the Summerset users like us to periodically dump them in the guild bank, or is refining a major chore? Without the use of the crafting stations, we don't get to deconstruct jewelry, so we're not accumulating any other kind.
ghastley
My crew has been farming Dreloth Ancestral Tomb, trying to pick up some more furnishing plans for the St Delyn Penthouse. Each trip gets us at least one plan, and a recipe, but it seems we've reached the point where they are always duplicates. We got a lot of racial motifs, too - half the time, it's the race of the character finding it. laugh.gif

Khajiit should check the guild bank again. Many were dark elf of some variety, but some were Khajiit plans.

---

When Laurie's next research slot opens up, I'll be asking for a nirnhoned resto staff, as she has a writ that wants an eight-trait set, and we may as well learn nirnhoned instead of training at this point. She's pretty close to having an even seven traits learned, with shields complete. We're debating whether to move to eight with nirnhoned items, and let the others turn up in game play, or to request other traits from guild members, and wait for writs that required the nirnhoned trait.

Blossom is about a trait behind (mostly sixes), and Laurie's keeping her research queue full. I'm thinking of having Cat Man Dhou go hunt a few skyshards, and invest in the research passives, so he can move up a bit, too. Unna just needs skill points to move her clothier up to 10/10, but her using mid-level mats is an advantage right now. Wizwen or Taminwe might get their clothier skill raised to ease the demand for Jute.

HhhhHHHhhhhhhhso the Crafting Monkey hit 45 in Jewelry Crafting and now I'm considering throwing every single bit of jewelry his way until he hits like 49 so he can cap it off with the skill book at the crafting station in the northwestern part of Summerset. By that I mean have everyone doing JC writs give their rewards to him and pass up their only decon. hmmmmmmmmmm

(Also, maybe I should consider seeking out Triune, Bloodthirsty and Harmony traited jewelry for research. But then it's probably best to wait till the price goes down a bit.)

The problem I had with furnishing the first room is that the game doesn't give you enough plans or materials to make things for yourself. So take any hand-me-downs you can get to start with, and replace them later. At the beginning, you won't have the crafting skills, or materials, to make anything decent.

Unna slept on a bedroll, and sat on a stool with her mug on a crate, for a long time. It took six months before we got her a proper Nord bed, and then we had to buy the blueprint, because it refused to drop. I forget the skill requirements on that, but she was already past L50 before it replaced her bedroll.

The economy is also crazy. The plans for the Hlaalu vellum lamps that Minx wants for the free inn room in Vivec cost more than Unna's house! So we're waiting for them to drop for us. We've only found plans for one type of room divider (Wood Elf), and again they're all high-priced.

It looks like Summerset's eased the burden just a bit with how they handle furnishing plan drops, since you can find the different tiers (blue, green, purple, etc) as separate drops now. So at least there's that. I'm still waiting on Furnisher writs or something similar for a reliable source of these plans that doesn't involve vouchers. :T

Anyways, I can now confirm that Nirncrux drops from Jewelry nodes. I hit 'R' a split second after noticing so I only got the little notification instead of the actual node. Also it's Craggle Rock, I'm not slowing down too much.

Has Acadian set it up where you can draw stuff out of the guild bank? Rakaand finally left the isle of Stros M'Kai and headed to Daggerfall for a free room at the Rosy Lion. Now I need to figure out furnishings!

I'll be glad to donate some, my game bank is overfull of them, lol.

I might take you up on that, lol. Looks like much grinding is involved to get enough loots for furnishing.

I'll gladly unload some! (as long as you are on the PC game, that is). Is your account under the name Kane? I'll send you a mailing first to make sure you will get the stuff when I send it - or I can put it into the guild bank for you to pull out; are you in our "Chorrolites" guild for ESO? Has Acadian set it up where you can draw stuff out of the guild bank? (and if he has, make sure to draw 2,000 gold out and buy yourself a guild Tabard from the Chorrolites guild store to wear for guild functions).

I appreciate that!! biggrin.gif I am indeed on PC, and my username is ThomasKane and my character name is Rakaand. smile.gif
Nope, not in any guilds! Just free roaming at the moment.
Acadian
Sounds good, Kane! Just you sent you a friend request as well as an invite to the guild!

Edited for typo.
Kane
Awesome, thanks folks!

The guild is just us here at this site; friends. (so only 15 members). We don't have a store other than our guild tabard for sale (which the guild bank gives you the 2,000 gold for so you don't have to pay for it).

You are free to take any items you need from the guild bank; there is armor, weapons, recipes, motifs - anything you need! Also, I'll be glad to send you whatever I have, my bank is so full of furniture I can't add anything to it, lol.

Also, you can right click on my name and choose "Visit Primary Residence" to go to the Guild Hall anytime = great place for building up characters, you can change their Mundus stone, test them on the combat dummies (then look at your chat box for the results of your sparring session), make new armors, etc. Or just hang out and enjoy the peace of the place, lol.

Word. Khajiit liked to go there and tweak his characters in peace.

I don't think there's anything in the UI that tells you:
  1. If you have permission to visit the residence
  2. What house it is
The first may just be that the option is or isn't presented. The second can be bypassed by each player adding the note by their name in the guild poster, but that's only accurate if they remember when they change it. Add-ons may provide the extra info, but I haven't investigated. mALX keeps Hunding's constant, as guild-hall, but haute is always changing hers, as she's often showcasing a new one. I'll probably change from Twin Arches to Sleek Creek when I get more furnishings in place, as it has more space.

Acadian
Good points, ghastley. Snugpod is always Buffy's primary and the whole chorrol guild always has permission to visit or even just use it as a convenient port to Elden Root. I need to remember to make a note reflecting that by my name in our guild roster.

Now that Cat Man Dhou has moved from Moonmirth to Sleek Creek, I'm using his old home as a warehouse. That at least saves some bank space for the Alchemy and Enchanting surveys we never get around to. All it has currently is bedrolls, crates, and a few "rough" furnishings, but the Imperial bed may end up there, too.

If there was an easy way for others to go there, and browse the junk, it would make a good yard sale location.

Wow! Now you only have to refine 10,000,000,000 more dust, and you'll hit 50!! laugh.gif

Woo Hoo! Misa made 50 with the help of a friend crafting rings for her = I provided the mats, the friend crafted the rings and handed them back to me to grind up. It really helps build it up a lot quicker than relying on dropped jewelry.

Right now she is trying to get those new research traits done, lol.
