It's the character that accepts the log-in reward that gets credit for acquiring the AP, and it does count towards skill-ups. However, one level takes 30,000, 60,000, or 90,000 (for levels 4, 5 and six, where you get Warhorn, Vigor, and Caltrops) so the 2,000 at a time doesn't go far. It's 1/4 of one BG round, and it's for one character maximum, on the days it happens. We haven't received enough AP in total for one level-up in Alliance, even if we carefully took them all on one character.
Transfers between characters don't acquire any more AP for the account, so do nothing. You can't transfer between players, only one player's characters via the bank. Banking your AP doesn't lose your skill-up record, as it only counts it coming in from outside.
Okay, now this explains exactly what I was wondering; thank you so much!!!
Okay, so (taking Ghastley's advice) = I PUG'd three Battlegrounds and brought Misa up from ranking 3 in the Alliance War to rank 4. She now has Purge and War Horn; which she couldn't get before.
The first two matches she was not the lowest score at the end of the matches (she was the next one up from the bottom). The third match she had the lowest score of all three teams! So = she did not do well at all. I seriously considered putting her in Britta's PvP gear and changing her CP Points to her PvP build, lol. It was embarrassing! But I'm going back for more,
So by your figures above = right now I need to do about 6 more matches to reach rank 5; and then about 13 more matches after that to get rank 6. I'll do it! Thanks, Ghastley!

Laurie was cleaning up her list of quests that had been started, but not finished. The kind where you spoke to someone , thinking it was part of your current quest, but it began a new one. In this case it was Tharayya's Trail, where she'd read a note in a Dwemer ruin. That quest actually ends in Volenfell, as soon as you find her and talk to her, but you find you're solo in a group dungeon, and it's not obvious that you've finished.
Laurie got surprising far, almost beating the first boss, before we reviewed the journal, and discovered the first quest was already complete. But now we have another, that requires a group to complete it.

I was at least fortunate that this was Laurie, who's a tank. Or not, because it also means that she has minimal offence. Not a glass cannon, but a granite noodle. If the enemy has any health regeneration, she's usually unable to wear them down. On the other hand, they're often not doing her a lot of damage either.
The time I was there with Unna, I found that I'd only got the glass part of her build completed.

At least that gets discovered quickly. Unna wasn't doing that quest, just exploring the zone, and seeing what she could manage on her own, which wasn't much.

Not remembering clearly. I know V-fell has the three storm atronach bosses that share health so by burning down one, the others are almost dead when the first one falls. And the blue one stands still so is the easiest one to burn down. Then I'm thinking that is the one where you have to escape through a door else a never ending stream of foes besieges you. That neverending foe mechanic can cause plenty of glitch type problems.
For Khajiit, there are those of us who have been flumoxed/frustrated by that mechanic and those of us who will be.

Well Khajiit feels that once we could safely stand around without being attacked it should have reverted to a non combat state and allowed us to leave. As it was, this one only escaped by bombing the program and then restarting his PC. Quite annoying.

Ok, so who broke the Battleground?
Minx did a few this morning and got her Vigor, queued again to start on Caltrops, and got stuck at the start of a BG "waiting for Players". After about ten minutes in that state, players were quitting in frustration as fast as new ones were added, and we gave up. Went and had lunch while we waited out the penalty, and found the same situation the next time.
Left it for a while and it fixed itself. Minx now has her caltrops, and she and a few others will be chasing Dawnbreaker next. And then maybe Wizwen will go for Purge. Or Minx will want to get to L50 and join the others.

Izinami is checking out a strange affliction in Rivenspire- and pack-muling gear for Hrolf to decon. The biggest problem has been a lack of bank space to transfer the goods. So,
Hrolf pulled some Glenumbra treasure maps out of the bank and took his shovel along on a little jaunt. He is also looking into a pest problem up around Aldcroft... flea-bitten lycanthropes in this case.
Trey is getting the fun assignment of being the designated tag-along for any Undaunted pledges or WB runs... he likes the whole "surviving" aspect of grouping up with friends- even if he still has trouble with bridges....

Spreads just remembered that she didn't get her soul back, so we finished off Coldharbour, and we'll be doing the final quest next. Minx probably won't be far behind. She's at Level 36 and has most of the skills she'll need. A few more rounds of dolmens - maybe as FG dailies - to get Dawnbreaker, and she'll get back to MQ.
Everyone else is just doing crafting research as slots become available. Laurie will probably have a need for some more Nirnhoned in the next few days, but each piece takes nearly a month at this point.
And I'm getting the itch to buy another character slot and create a Templar Healer, since I don't have one. I don't have a Breton on the team, either. There's no Imperial, but I don't feel that's an issue, as Clark needs a non-participant ancestor (who could report on the Alliance wars, if I get inspired).

Nice to see that Trey and Co. is enjoying their adventures in ESO Tamriel. And Buffy's fallen off that exact bridge at least once.
Grats to some of ghastley's characters as they wind up their main quests! A Breton healing templar is a great choice. It would be wonderful to see another here at chorrol 'called' by the healing arts.
As I think you know, there are several variations (characters) of Buffy and she moves among them as easily as she changes costumes or hairstyles. Her primary and most favored choice on any given day is to grab her healing staff as a templar healer. Her next choice is to pick up her bows as a stamina sorceress archer. Her third choice is to grab her lightning staves as a magicka sorceress. She does have other variants but they have mostly proven to be experiments verifying her primary choices.
One of her projects as healer now is to slowly savor Murkmire. Like Valenwood and Shadowfen, she comfortably wraps forest/jungle/swampland around her and is ever so much at home in the lush greenery. She is perhaps a third of the way through Murkmire now. Her tastes are quirky and eclectic to be sure but she quite favors the zone and its quests so far.

So I bought a character slot and created Floozie De Fault (named after a Skyrim test character who developed into a keeper). Breton Templar destined for healing, but using a frost staff for now. She started at Seyda Neen, (as I don't have Summerset), my first character to do that. She's reached level 5 and is doing the first few Vvardenfell quests.
I'm not sure if I'll take her over to the mainland when she gets to 6, for the craft certifications, which I don't think can be done on Vvardenfell. All of my characters craft, and I log each one in every day to do their next research, but I may want to break the habit, so she can spend all her skill points elsewhere, and maybe level faster. Minx has all the XP scrolls right now, as she's trying to get up to L50, but any left over will go to Floozie.
Any hints on how to get a healer through the learning stages? If I give her a resto staff before she can bar-swap she'll be weak for PvE - I found that out on PTS trying it out before taking the plunge. I suspect there are also skills she'll want early, but then stop using later.
Acadian
Dec 12 2018, 07:37 PM
Sure. Good skills from Templar she'll want forever include Puncturing Sweeps, Breath of Life, Extended Ritual, Channeled Focus, Luminous Shards, Reflective Light, Purifying Light. Similarly from Destruction Staff - Elemental Drain and Blockade. If you're tight on points, that alone will level her up surviveably. I'd focus on those till you get your second bar then go Resto Staff on second bar. Try all three variants of the Destruction staves. You'll find that most of the higher level healers prefer lightning (Buffy included) but there is no penalty for trying them all as you level.
ghastley
Dec 12 2018, 08:55 PM
She's at the "use whatever you can get" stage, as it's not worth having ones made for her while she's outgrowing them so fast. Her latest is a frost staff, but it will swap out if a better option turns up. Of course, she's only got the base skills (if at all) of that list, and nothing has reached being morphed yet. I'm feeling that we'll concentrate on the offensive skills, and the self-heals at first, and leave the heal-other ones for later.
The resto staff will wait until it's put on the back bar. I checked out using one on PTS, and it's not viable alone, or with only one or two skills to slot. And we took the Aedric Spear offensive skills before the Restoring Light defensive ones, despite the Level Advisor. We'll end up with the same list, but their priorities are strange.
One thing I note, looking at the Alcast/Deltia/etc. builds, is that the Templars use more of their class skills than the others, who seem to use more weapon/guild/alliance ones. If I follow their recommendations, Unna would only use a single DK skill!
Wizwen has been built to be a healer, but as a Sorc, the game wanted her to be using offence, and the early stuff was simpler that way.

Dec 12 2018, 10:21 PM
ghastley, most of mine have used a dead-slotted skill while leveling to make sure all of their lines moved up together. For example Steams-Many-Mudcrabs uses two destruction staves, but she has a Restoration skill on each of her bars. That way no matter what she’s doing, she is raising her Resto skill line for the future. Of course this means she can only use 4 of the 5 skills while one is dead-slotted, but that’s not been a problem.
Congratulations on the new crew member, and a warm welcome to Floozie!

Floozie parked the Vvardenfell quest when she hit 6 and went over to the mainland for certifications, and to join the fighters and mages guilds, none of which are possible on the island. She got a couple of levels out of exploring, as the certification was done in her Alliance base of Daggerfall, but she somehow had to go to Auridon for the guilds(!?) We were directed there by flyers posted on walls in Balmora, which we read while looking for others that were part of the local quests.
To make the confusion worse, Curinure's quest marker is there, but he isn't, so she can't join the MG. Aicessar behaved, so she joined the FG, and took the Intimidation passive, which may be all she wants from them. We tried logging out and back in, but the invisible (and unusable) mage persists. I'll try again tonight.
A fire staff has replaced her frost staff for a time, and she's got her first destruction staff skill to go with it. Templar skills are starting to offer morphs, but she's barely filled her first bar yet. And just like a woman, as soon as she could afford to do it, she created an
outfit to wear.. That's Fang Lair chest, Redguard pants and bracers, Dark Elf boots, Dremora epaulets and Daedric sash.
Since I don't have Summerset, I can't check (even on PTS) whether the same problem exists on that island. I did have PTS access during beta, and I thought that I managed to join the guilds without leaving, but could only get Jewelry certification there. Can someone confirm my memory? I pointed out the limitations of Alinor as a starting character's hub, but my main complaint was the lack of resources for characters who didn't have stock in their craft bag - i.e. new players, rather than just an alt. I can't remember all the details about what else forced me back to the Alliance hubs.

How cute she is! And I love the outfit!
There should be no confusion; the NPCs (that all Players have to contact to do all the Guilds' quests and the Main questline) is the same NPC (in both name and appearance) for all the Alliances; but will only appear to each Player in the Province attached to your character's Alliance. (for immersion and believability; there can't be three of the same NPC roaming different parts of the world).
It is the same for the Main questline: every Alliance has one "Harborage" in their starter zone; but the only one your character can enter is the one in her own Alliance's starter zone. The Prophet will never appear visually to your character in another Alliance's territory.
Also; when doing the FG and Mages Guild questlines, all their quests throughout will occur only in her Alliance territories too. Once she completes a quest for either of them; the next (string of quests) will always be moved to the Capital of the next Province attached to her Alliance. (If you follow your Alliance's questlines; the FG and Mages Guild quests are set up to follow you to each Province as you are doing your Alliance's questline).

Actually, not true. The joining quests have you contact Alliance-specific NPC's: Aicessar for AD/FG, Basile for DC/FG and Hilan for EP/FG, for example. Somehow, because she started outside any Alliance, she was able to trigger the wrong ones, via those flyers, and has to join the MG and FG in AD territory, even though she's DC. The crafting certification quests are triggered from activating the writ board the first time, and on Vvardenfell, she couldn't do that at all. Since she went to DC territory and used the Daggerfall writ board, that started up properly.

Agree with the rest, which is why the guild startups could be a significant problem for her. I'll be testing whether she can get FG quests in Daggerfall ASAP. She'll also see if she can find Nemarc (instead of Curinure) at the Daggerfall Mages Guild, and maybe start the DC version of the quest. Having two in her journal could prove a nuisance.
I'm starting to remember what happened in the Summerset beta: my test character joined both guilds in Alinor, as they had halls there. The NPC's were the AD ones (appropriately), and it's possible that the flyers were put on the walls in Balmora as part of the Summerset patch, forgetting that there was no local AD hall to go to. EP ones would have made more sense, but if you're screwing up, do it completely!

Edit:
And I'm finding out by Googling that Vivec does have guilds, even though my map didn't want to show them, and the joining NPC's (who are just the AD ones) are instanced there. I should be able to join MG in Vivec. Looks like the real bug iis letting me join the FG in Vulkhel Guard (with the other Aicessar). The quest arrows for both pointed to Vulkel Guard, instead of Vivec, which was also wrong. I'll /bug them in-game, and see if anything happens. I don't see why they picked the AD NPC's for a chapter set in EP, but that's a minor quirk, as the guilds are neutral.

I was up until the wee hours of the night with Argis the Bulwark - we worked on his Fishing Achievement. The BOAT is now within reach - we only need two river fish in the Rift, one foul fish in Reaper's March, and one river fish in Cyrodiil. We spent much of the evening hours in Cyrodiil collecting rare fish. RNG was with us - we collected all the rare fish but one in that one trip. Got slaughtered (slaughterfish, natch) but didn't meet a single player, even though this Pact boy ventured deeeeeeep into AD territory to get the Ocean fish.
Needless to say, Argis is feeling mighty proud of himself. We will continue pursuing the last elusive fish until he earns that BOAT.

Don't think I'm ever going to use it but it'll be great to have the option to look like a chunk of iceHoly Cow, Monkey! It looks very icy cold, lol.

Buying another characters slot because I'm considering playing through the entire game again. Partially cause I wanna see the old quests again and partially because of another reason I won't talk about yet.
I mean I can just delete my Anniversary Event crafter but I need surveys and idk if I'm taking up crafting on this new character. (He'll be deleted after his purpose is done, too)
Remember to empty out your storage chests before you delete any characters; I think they still have issues with stuff disappearing from that.

Ugh, yeah, I actually went and vacated them all this time. I don't really have much that could potentially be lost (iirc it was stuff that was bound, particularly armor) but i didn't want to take any chances. Now to throw them back in! :v
Anyways, now I gotta reconcile the news of the year-long chapter (or whatever the multiple-quarter thing for Elsweyr is supposed to be). Maybe I should hold off on a new character. Again.

Minx hit level 49.99 by completing the King Emeric quest while doing her Cadwell's Silver. So we went off and found a fresh wayshrine to hit 50, and she's gone into hiding until Laurie can make her some big-girl equipment. I need to avoid making a clone of Taminwe, so she may get NMG instead of Hunding's (or both?)
That leaves just Floozie below (level 18), so I'll be spending some more quality time with her. She's still filling her second bar, and we're debating what guild skills she needs and when to get them. I bought her a lion mount, just in case the plain one goes missing from the store for a few years, like the snow bear did.
Laurie will probably be asking for some more Nirhoned research pieces soon. Floozie just got a Craglorn survey, so we're hoping it provides a Potent Nirncrux, and we have several Fortified if we don't get one. There are about a dozen gaps to fill, half weapon, half armour. Blossom, Unna and the others won't do the Nirn line until Laurie's finished, although Blossom already has a couple of armour traits learned, from getting duplicates in the Craglorn quest line.
She also needs to furnish the Coven Cottage for Spreads. The idea is to strip out the dead trees and gloomy stuff, and make it a lot brighter, and welcoming. That means spending some time on the PTS, and probably spending some crowns on furnishings. Is there anything that helps track the crown budget for a home?

Have you seen Khajiit’s crew’s Coven Cottage? It’s pretty much the opposite of what you are wanting, lol

I'm not sure if I have or not. I've seen somebody's, but I don't recall whose.
Mine is currently empty. I have a stash of furnishings in Moonmirth, which I just use as a warehouse, but haven't even moved over a bed to make it "useable". But then, Mathiisen Manor is very bare, too. I only have my Undaunted and Achievement Trophies there, and a few things outside. I've tried some things out on the PTS, but I usually forget when that resets, and lose my test layouts before I'm finished.
Minx, my Dunmer, may also get a bigger house than the St Delyn Penthouse soon. That has no more slots left, and there are other things she wants to keep at home. Laurie has Twin Arches quite full, and is considering a move to larger premises.
If I get back into a housing mood, there's a lot I could do. I got a bit frustrated with the amount of furnishing stuff that's crown-only, but without mounts and costumes that I want, it's becoming less of a concern.

Khajiit would actually like to see Coven Cottage with not scary landscaping and furnishings. This one thinks it really is a beautiful piece of property.

I may take a look. EHT lets you go to another player's house, even if it's not the primary, and I've used it recently to see what mALX's Hunding's Palatial Hall looks like without all the tables for the guild. And of course, the answer was "in progress"
I didn't get around to house-planning on the PTS. Instead, we did a bunch of equipment shuffling to get Minx suitably clad, with a round or two of dolmens for the jewelry. Floozie did her mount training and daily writs, then did a few more Glenumbra quests for the experience, and went up a couple of levels. That left no time for housing, and if Floozie wants to try and catch up to the others, it will probably get repeated for a while.
ETA: I did visit the @TheCheshireKhajiit instance, and yes, I'm going for the total opposite.
I was hoping to find an answer to that open doorway. There are several banners that might work draped over it, but trying them all on the PTS seems like a lot of work.
ETA: Floozie did the intro quest to BG with the event doubling, and got her Warhorn, so she doesn't have to PvP again.

Unna is busy chasing down skyshards, using only her bow, as she's desperate to build up those skills. We had her using two greatswords for a long time, and so she had a severe lack of DoT's and AoE's. Not using a bow meant not raising the skills, so she's playing catch-up as fast as she can. Level 35 so far, which is still short of Poison Arrow. Caltrops hasn't yet advanced to the stage we can morph it, but it is at least moving up. We're chasing skyshards, rather than re-spec'ing, as that exercises the skills she's building at the same time.
Tried running Banished Cells I solo, but didn't make it. We'll test against that again once we have more bow power.
I suspect I'll have the same problems with Taminwe and Minx, who haven't kept their bow skills up with their DW, but they have a lot more skyshards available to them. Unna, being my pioneer, used hers on skills that are a bit wasted now.
Floozie is getting a bit of action, too, and has reached level 25. Unlike Unna, we're conscious of her target skills, and she's filling her bars with a much better mix. Solar Prison and Warhorn are in place, and several individual skills are already morphed up. She's still a bit short of Spear Shards, and Rune Focus, but they're planned, and other skills are raising her levels toward them. I'm feeding her all the XP scrolls that come in, and I may have Laurie make her some Training equipment.
And almost forgot: Minx felt cramped in the St Delyn Penthouse, so we bought Ald Velothi Harbour House. We moved that bathtub, and put in a few other furnishings, but not many yet. It may still get completed before Spreads' Coven Cottage, just because the latter is harder to get right.

Unna has Poison Arrow, morphed Caltrops up to Razor Caltrops, and is continuing her collecting of Skyshards, and doing Undaunted dailies. Floozie is training her mount and doing the crafting writs, and everyone else is just researching whenever a slot opens up.
Laurie has made a couple more pieces of furniture, but nothing's been added to the Coven Cottage yet. Spreads still isn't sure if she wants Argonian or Breton as the main style. Does her race mean more than the location? We'll undoubtedly plant some non-native species of flora in the swampy parts of the grounds. The PTS copy will get a lot of attention soon.

This is my Son's Sorc (thehydra) in one of his five matches in the Battlegrounds today! He was on the winning team three times; and all three times he was the highest ranked player for his team! (plus ranked highest on one match where they came in second). The sheet is just showing 5-6 of the Achievements he got in that match; there were like 17 Achievements in that one match!
(gotta post this song to listen to while viewing his best match of the day stats) :

What I liked was that the deaths count was higher than the kills, but that was still the high score! The game has something right. I do like that aspect of BG's. You can score points for other things than just the combat.
