Unna insists that we save our crowns in case the Snow Bear comes back for New Life. She'll also want the firelogs provisioning station that's supposed to happen then.

That's why Spreads is trying to get the Exorcised Coven Cottage for gold, which needs the achievement.

FIRELOGS PROVISIONING STATION????????

Oh, I've seen all kinds of cool provisioning stations in the NPC world that we can use; but not for Players to use as furnishings in their own homes = that would be amazing!!!! I want the Redguard oven; that Vvardenfell oven; and/or fireplace logs you can place in a fireplace and they would still activate for provisioning crafting; etc! I WANT IT !!!!

Has it actually been announced, or data-mined or something? I haven't heard a thing about it until Ghastley said that!!! (and tried Googling it, can't get anything to come up on it = just a lot of players begging for it! )

Datamined, I believe. Eso Fashion is showing it in the crafting stations section. Curiously, they don't show the witches alchemy station there.

And I forget to tell you that Spreads completed her achievements and qualified to buy the Exorcised Coven Cottage, so now we wait until they fix the housing bugs, and it's safe to decorate. Next job is raising her to level 50, and then she'll want new equipment.

Khajiit can see this being really good for outdoor spaces. Not sure this one would use it in indoor fireplaces though.
monkeyemoness
Hmmmmm, depending on the price I might spring for it tbh.

Anyways, I've done quite a bit of exploring in Murkmire and one of the best things about it is how it confirmed that Hates comes from a tribe full of spooky goths, while she herself is a small and angry goblin goth with only a moderate reverence of Sithis. Also how she's bumming off The Sluttening ceremony of the Bright-Throats for food and drink.
ghastley
Spreads has been doing delves and WB's and dolmens to gather plunder skulls, all to qualify for the Cottage. So now she's got it, she finds herself with a lot of unspent skill points, and a significantly higher level, thanks to the event boost.

That has lead to her taking up the main quest again, and heading for champion level. What we forgot, of course, was that once she got there, she'd suddenly need a whole lot of new equipment. Her equipment rating has plummeted from Average to Don't Ask, and everyone's picking on her.

We finished her current quest before taking the level-up, and brought her back from Coldharbour to rest up in an (empty) Exorcised Coven Cottage while Laurie starts putting something together for her. We'll start with some Julianos while we ponder what goes with it. There may be a minor re-spec done at the same time, to change a couple of morphs. When that's all done, she'll set out from the Hollow City to get her soul back.

---

Now the only one of my crew below 50 is Minx, (unless I buy another slot and start a new one). Several of the others need to go hunting Skyshards, to fill in their skill trees, and they could all use some dungeon set items to raise their game. Nobody has done enough Cyrodiil to get Vigor yet, or enough Undaunted for the passives. Laurie is close to working on the Nirnhoned line of her research (three gaps to fill first), and Blossom is close to that, too. So much of the Skyshard hunting will be in Craglorn, to find Nirncrux as a by-product. Looking for them makes them hide. biggrin.gif
monkeyemoness
All these people trying to sell their Dremora motifs didn't make it easy (even with Awesome Guild Store filtering) but today I decided to complete the Fang Lair motif. Figure I should before the Wolfhunter motifs drop. Dunno if I'll ever make an attempt to get the Welkynar motif. Other than that, I'm taking a more leisurely approach to getting the Dead-Water motif, in part because Elder Argonian is supposed to drop from the same source eventually.
monkeyemoness
Murkmire was a good sidestory and I loved it a lot. Still got some sidequests to do, then I'll see how different it would be with an Argonian character.
treydog
Since Trey was getting killed... running away from things... exploring Craglorn, he decided to clear some of the miscellany from his inventory and track down the crafter's surveys that have been accumulating.

Of course, the blacksmith ones seem to be partial to places that are occupied by trolls- and the Scaled Court and Iron Orcs are conveniently parked on some of the others... so... yeah... lots of fun. He did get to Champion Level 60- but because his... controller can't focus, he is still a jack-of-all trades, master of none--- which means a lot of dying and/or running away.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Brenna obtained the crew’s Witch’s Festival Indrik feather and we have a 2 event ticket head start on the next one.
ghastley
Since I don't want an Indrik, I'm hoping that there will be a decent trade-in option at the next event. I haven't even counted my tickets yet, but I should have the max.

We've made use of the XP boost to get the lower characters raised up. Only Minx is below 50 now, and she'll get passed all the scrolls to use up. Laurie knows the first Ambrosia recipe, too, but I forget what ingredients we don't have.

The last time I got a duplicate fragment for that, and dropped it in the guild bank, I noticed that it completed the set. Did anyone take advantage of that (or do you all already have it?)

Hopefully all the event pages will disappear from the guild stores soon, and we'll be able to find other things.
ghastley
Blossom went on the dolmen circuit last night in Bangkorai, because one of her Spriggan's rings is only green, and she'd prefer a purple. Didn't get one, but she did get three other purple rings. Two were Seventh Legion, and one Vampire Lord. I don't think we got anything Spriggan's from any of them.

The positive was that when she gave up, I noticed that she'd raised the crew's CP past 500! We also got a bunch of plunder skulls in the process, but no content to brag about.

Taminwe ran a few chests in Wrothgar without finding any more Briarheart stuff, and the rest just did research. I spent a bit of time playing Skyrim, too, just to take a break.
Acadian
Good luck to Blossom. Buffy's spent plenty of time camping that northern most dolmen in Bangkorai farming Spriggans jewelry.

More by luck than good management I figure, Buffy finished the Witchifest with 15 event tickets (10 went to a feather), an apple bobbing animation momento and a few nice little bits of random furnishings. I do believe 15 event tickets was the maximum possible for the event.

Khajiit is annoyed that the timer for the event ticket reset was not on a similar schedule as the login rewards but was instead tied to the very second you picked up your first Dremora Skull. It caused us to miss out on some tickets even though we played everyday of the event.

It shouldn't have done that, unless you played for four hours before getting your first skull. The cooldown was only 20 hours, not a whole day. That said, I haven't counted mine to see how it did work out. Max tickets would have required you to log in all round the clock to catch that 20-hour cycle perfectly, and I think 18 was theoretically possible for the fanatic.

That 20 hour cycle pissed me off no end, because I missed more than a few days to get the event ticket, even though I logged in every single day of the witches festival. Because my work requires me to go in early one day and go in late the next, if I got my event ticket one evening, I would not get the next one until two days later, because more often than not, the ticket for the next day would not be ready when I logged in in the morning of the second day, only for me to be at work when the ticket timer would reset.

As it was, I barely squeaked by, getting my 10th ticket this morning with just six minutes left on the festival clock.

And picked up my emerald feather just two minutes shy of the Impresario disappearing.

Not that I really want that Indrik mount (I kind of lump it with the elk mounts - you could put your eye out riding them things), but it's the principle of the thing. I don't mind it so much for mount training, because that's always there, but for a limited time event like the Witches Festival, I feel it should be on the same simple reset cycle as the daily crafting writs.

Whew that was close! And indeed, it is definitely the principle of the thing. Khajiit works a similar schedule to you and there were a couple of days which we couldn’t get a ticket.

And the prize for Best Use of Hat in Khajiit’s crew goes to Mira!
hazmick
I think we got 12 tickets, but didn't trade them in for a feather. Was never sure if I was on the next day and could earn another ticket or if I was on the previous day and had no ticket left.

Pretty decent idea for an event to earn a free mount but I think Zenimax needs to work on the execution if they do it again.

Well they definitely are doing it again; the Clockwork City Anni. event, The Undaunted event, and the New Life Festival, so hopefully they will tweak it a bit before the Clockwork City one in a couple of weeks.

So some of you may know that I decided to try Alcast's builds for two of my toons, Do Raheita, my Khajiit magblade, and Julian, my trusty Redguard stamblade. With the Murkmire update, Alcast has added skills to the recommended stamblade PVE build that requires some PVP skills (specifically vigor and caltrops). So that means Julian has to either head off to Cyrodiil or to Battlegrounds to level up her Alliance Assault skills and unlock those two.

After being killed (basically one-shotted), even with the modified PVE build, Julian and I decided we would focus on PVP skills just to level up faster. Today we looked at Alcast's Silencium, the stamblade bow build, and started putting together a second build just for that. And yes, that means reassigning CP points, and likely new skills. But we started out getting the gear first. While shopping for it, we were pinged by a random player in Wayrest who complimented Julian on her outfit. Any of you who has seen her since the outfit system dropped will know that she is rocking Blades Blue and Gold. In fact, Covenant Blue is the predominant color in her armor. The funny thing is, when we thanked this player politely for the compliment, we got invited to a PVP guild that is DC only. However, the voice chat (Discord) requirement resulted in auto decline from us, heh.

Julian was able to find all the gear she needed for the build, but some pieces had different traits or enchantments on them. So she sent them to Maz for improvements, trait reassignments, and re-enchantments. And all of these were carried out at our guild hall, where everything is working just fine.

When Julian got her new gear back, she wanted to put them to the test right away. So we got a guildie from our trading guild (you know the one, mALX) to join us, and he brought along his healer/stam toon. The other two were random players from the queue, and my guildie talked me through a Deathmatch. I was very happy that Julian and I did much better (and dealt more damage) than the last time we tried it, with our old PVE set. I also tested the new gear on our dummy at the guildhall, and was very pleased to find that twin blades went up considerably. Bow still needs work, but that takes time.

Anyway, TL;DR, but wanted to share!

laugh.gif Yeah, I remember those days real well! Misa avoided combat every chance she got, or died trying, lol. Right now she is doing really well (comparatively), but the only reason she is doing well now is because I found someone who really knew how to build a good NightBlade and they helped me to tweak her build into a viable one. (her DPS tripled!)

I also had a totally useless Dragon Knight until a guy who knew how to build a Tank came along and gave me some tips on how to turn her around, and she turned out to be one of my most fun characters!

Right now Acadian is teaching me how to build a good Sorc (because the one I built couldn't win a fight with a base level mudcrab).

I have learned by this game that I just don't have a talent for building a good character; and so am really grateful for meeting some people who can, lol.

A lot of my characters are in that situation. We've only gone into Cyrodiil for the Midyear event, and picked up a few points (and boxes of trash) but nobody got anywhere near Vigor. That seems to be the DPS builds' "Oh dear!" skill to get out of jail free on PvE, but it's a PvP-required skill. I hadn't considered getting a group together for BG as an alternative.

I just saw this apple-bobbing emote yesterday = I love it! Sometimes the girl I was watching got the fetid fish instead of the apple; and she'd make a face and spit it out of her mouth - throw it on the ground. When she got the apple she would raise her hands up and cheer, then hold the apple up = it was AWESOME !!!!

The odd thing about it was that the guy who was showing me the emote on his character = he wasn't seeing what everyone else was! He saw his character facing away from the cauldron and then suddenly having an apple in her mouth! So it seems they made the emote for others to see, but neglected to make the Player's viewing of it. Anyway, I love to see it, it is a very fun emote!

I didn't have nearly that reason for not getting mine, just had some real life things that needed doing and = like you said, it bumped me from getting the gold skulls/event tickets. I'd get the purple Plunder Skulls; but I didn't feel like chasing those. I spend enough time in front of the PC as it is, laugh.gif

That means if you earned more than 12, you didn't get them because you were holding the maximum amount allowed; unfortunately.

I agree though; they kind of made it so complicated that a lot of people won't get it even though they did everything they were supposed to do. It was about getting people to participate in the event, and we obviously did that.

But like a lot of people have said = even if I get it, chances are good that it will sit in my collections and only rarely get pulled out and ridden. So I doubt I'll whine much if I don't win it.

** And all of these were carried out at our guild hall, where everything is working just fine.

BOLD: WOO HOO !!!!!!! Awesome !!!!

Alcast has some good builds! (even if you just use them as a basis they are good!) It is really great when you have made changes on a character's build to be able to see the difference immediately that way, that is Awesome!

And to find someone who can teach you how the Death matches work = gold mine. I couldn't figure them out, just kept going in till I got a good team around me that whipped the tar out of the other two teams, lol. I prefer Cyrodiil to the battlegrounds, lol.

And you are def right; it only costs 3000 to change your CP points around. If you are going to PvP; most def log your PvE build stats (so you don't lose your PvE build) and redo your CP points just for PvP'ing. It is well worth the changes; and as long as you made a record of the PvE build (you can always flip back and forth). There are CP points that are specifically for PvP - they are useless for PvE'ers, but make a huge diff in PvP!

Khajiit is somewhat annoyed they’ve never released a raven noncom pet. Witchwood is in dire need of one!

They kind of do have them for furnishings; just not as pets. They had some in that furnishing pack (that won't be out till next year now) = indoors: A black raven sits on a wreath type perch that you can hang in your house; and it moves its head; looks around; and even moves around on its perch intermittently.

They have a scarecrow for outdoors that has a flock of ravens that occasionally swarm around it or perch on it, and they had a black raven that you can call to yourself and it will perch on your arm and look around for about 15 seconds before evaporating. (they also have a flock of crows that will circle you indefinitely until you want to scream; I am not a fan of that one).

They also had a huge black raven combat dummy, lol. I loved it, but felt bad hitting it.

A lot of these furnishing packs have unique items that you can't get anywhere else; it pays to peek through them while they are on there for these special events.

Didn’t know about those furnishings, but Khajiit would still want a pet so it could follow us on adventures!

I agree, would really like one too = it would be like having Mirocu along with Misa on her adventures!

Someone: Murkmire dialogue actually makes note of your race!

Me: Oh, cool.

*Five minutes in the dialogue forces me to make extremely stupid questions for an Argonian, let alone one that is native to the area.*

Me: Ah, you meant they just have different greetings. Okay. Gotcha.

I'm only a little mad. I'm used to this from Bethesda.

Lol. Khajiit is also having dialogue/story problems in Summerset. This one is trying a brand new character and one of the first things out of Razum-dar’s smart alec mouth is that he’s wounded because my character asked “Who are you again?”. They’ve never met, wtf?!! Also, Khajiit had only had a brief encounter with someone/thing called “The Golden Knight”, but he sounds suspiciously like Darien.
monkeyemoness
Yeah, it's a mess, and it's hard to tell how much of the dialogue mishaps is due to bugs. (Example: a random encounter in Murkmire that's a followup to one in Summerset claims Lucius joined the Dark Brotherhood. He....did not???? At all?????)

At the very least, The Golden Knight has plenty of reason to know who you are regardless of what you've done.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Well, after escaping a mind prison in Summerset, Dredwyn Stormhowler has arrived on the shores of Auridon, and has been recruited as the third witch on Khajiit’s crew. As soon as she left her room at the Mara’s Kiss Pub House, she was met by a mysterious hooded figure asking her to go meet a mysterious benefactor. As soon as she finishes running errands at the bank and guilds she may go see what this is all about...

Because Izanami the Redguard Templar has been so much more survivable, even at a much lower level, Trey Nightblade went to Wayrest and respected. Many thousand gold later, he is on his way to becoming a Sorcblade- which makes more sense for a Breton.

As he also dropped most of his crafting skills (except provisioning- he likes to cook tongue.gif), he will soon be assisted by the new Nord Dragoncrafter, Hrolf Smedson.

Hrolf finished everything on Bleakrock (after a minor completionist hiccup that caused him to have to be deleted and rebuilt... to wit, "Save the People" and he missed the fisherman with the dog). So now Hrolf is running around Bal Foyen, lighting fires and digging metals and chopping wood. He has only slotted one skill in each racial attribute so as to save points for crafting- once he actually gets trained for Smith, Woodworker, and Clothier.

I still miss how in Oblivion the Khajiit players were called "Furball" by the Khajiit hating guard in Anvil; or asked "How ass tastes" by that one (Khajiit hating) Argonian in Leyawiin, etc. Somewhere along the line, Bethesda seems to have lost its sense of humor in their games! They had so much fun little things like that to find in Oblivion and Fallout 3; it is one of the things that made them my favorite games of all time.

She’s actually quite large for a Bosmer laugh.gif
ghastley
Blossom walked out of her home at Mournoth Keep, saw that the dolmen was starting up, and ran over and got the purple Spriggan's ring she was wanting. biggrin.gif That was after doing the same thing all last week without any luck. I'm trying to persuade her to use her bow more, but she's too fond of her axes.

Unna decided that she really ought to upgrade her jewelry, too. She has all blue Sword Singer - the two-handed set - and that drops from the Alik'r dolmens. We took her for a few circuits with the mob, and got six pieces of Sword Singer - every one of them green! Naturally there were purple drops in the other two sets, so it's not just the number of participants lowering the grade.

It did get us a few more random pieces of equipment for Spreads to deconstruct. She's hit 50 in woodwork, and getting close with Blacksmith and Clothier. Then it will be skyshard hunting, probably by doing Undaunted delves initially, and hitting any others nearby.

Laurie made some glyphs for the others, and did her daily Undaunted delve, but she's mostly waiting out a lot of research.

Taminwe went to Wrothgar, and added to her collection of Briarheart items she doesn't want, without getting any rings. We can't even find green ones, so she's worse off than the others.

Wizwen and Cat Man Dhou didn't do much apart from research, and Minx just did her daily crafting, trained her mount, and went back to her room.

TheCheshireKhajiit
^ Ghastley and co been busy!

Today Dredwyn lost her soul sad.gif
She’s now helping Razum-Dar investigate intrigues on Khenarthi’s Roost.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Today Razak Mzalf, our Dwemer vampire cursed by Molag Bal to be forever recognized as a Dunmer by the world at large, saved Vivec from having his power stolen by Clauvicus Vile and learned a good bit about this era in the process. Being a Dwemer craftsman, he was most intrigued by the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil and plans to explore there next (hopefully it’s not too difficult for his rather low level, otherwise we’ll have to get Mira involved).
treydog
Trey got a chance to test his respec'd SorcBlade skills in the Clockwork City (because his interlocuter can't read and thought the event had started). Magelight comes in really handy in the Planisphere....

Izinami Ra Onsi got a break from slaving over a hot anvil crafting iron daggers for Hrolfgar to decon and cleared up a problem at the Wyrd Tree and also assisted the Lion Guard. Now he is getting ready to see about this Angof character... Since he is a Templar the chance to fight an ancient Necromancer makes him very happy.

Hrolfgar has been deconning and researching, with the occasional run out into the countryside of Stonefalls to find Skyshards and hunt named critters so as to gain skill points- which are then put back into smithing, woodworking, and clothier.

Jonas Psmith is feeling a bit lonely- he hasn't been out of the house in months- and after all he did for the Queen, too....
monkeyemoness
Murkmire came and went pretty quickly. I guess I'm used to playing through questlines with several characters, where this time I only did two. Even then, I sort of get the feeling there was less to do this time around? idk Still waiting for the Elder Argonian motif to be put into the game before I actually do dailies there.

Only concern right now is getting Ruben to level 50. Really, really slowly reaching 45. :T
TheCheshireKhajiit
Today Razak wen on an expedition to the Clockwork City with the wizard Divayth Fyr. After getting mistakenly transported to the Phneumatic Forge and a harrowing battle with Fyr’s own shadow, they stepped out into the synthetic wilderness that surrounds the Clockwork City. Razak was quite impressed with what he saw, even more so when he gained entry into the city. He thought that if his people hadn’t disappeared, their works and technology might look a lot like those on this wondrous mechanical place. Razak is currently on a quest to gain citizenship in the Clockwork City.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Took Mira to Clockwork so now our crew has a champion level member on the ground there. Ready for Thursday.
ghastley
Got some research pieces from mALX and got Minx to research one. She can then make more for the rest of the crew, and since she hardly has any done, it won't take long (less than a day). Spreads will take two for the piece she's researching, and will then replicate for the others. Before that, Minx will be started on the third. Meanwhile, Laurie was busy making pieces for everyone else, plus researching one of her own. Taminwe and Wizwen started some more research too.

Unna has at least a week before she can do any craft research, so she went off on an Undaunted delve to grind that up.She may soon spend some time dolmen-running in Alik'r to try and replace her blue jewelry with purple. That's also good for Fighters Guild grinding, which she needs a few levels in.
monkeyemoness
Decided it would be a good idea to have Ruben do the Clockwork City dailies for the event so that he could reach level 50. I figure he'll run out of Skyshards to hunt eventually and he'll most definitely not max his level doing that. A few extra exp boost from daily quests should do it though. (Although he'll stick to the delve quests, since he can't really handle the world boss ones lol)
