Wow, mALX! It sounds like Misa has a fabulous collection!

Writs are awesome to support crafting, but I doubt you could make enough to routinely buy CP 160 gear from the public guild stores. The guilds I’m in are PvE focused and rarely bid for a vendor. These guys are mostly getting the bind-on-pickup gear that you can only swap while you’re in the same instance. The bind-on-equip stuff they sell is priced low as a favor to members who are still collecting those sets and have not gotten on a Trials team yet (like me, lol).

Jerric’s financial priority was of course the horses, and then crafting. That works great in his adventure-focused life. His buying and selling is mostly just to swap out duplicates of what he finds in the world for pieces he hasn’t gotten yet, but for a long time he was shopping for Nirnhoned gear to research. Not any more, woo!

Stays-Up-Late has reached 50 in five of his crafting skills, but Enchanting is still in the 20s. This is fine because Darnand is not going to let go of that craft. When the next update hits, Stays will take over Alchemy for Lildereth. Jerric wants to keep cooking for everyone, which is not a surprise. Stays has taken over all deconstructing for the group (meaning he has the perks to get the most materials back). Maybe someday he will take over the tempering and free up a few more points for the adventurers. I can’t even guess how long it will take him to catch up with his trait research!

Umm, a lot of this stuff is over my head. wacko.gif

Right now I'm campaigning two characters, struggling for inventory and bank space with both, and considering a Banking Assistant from the Crown Store to help with that while both characters are out in the countryside.

Julian loves adventuring. She is Level 17 (I think) and considering taking on Daedra outside Koeglin Village in Stormhaven before moving on to Alcaire Castle. Thanks to the Death's Wind armor that mALX gifted her, she is much more confident now. And her Siphoning skills are quite strong now. Most of her points have been sunk in her magic thus far. I shall have to remember to put a few towards Medium Armor and Provisioning if she is going to cook for everyone.

Mazul loves blacksmithing (surprise, surprise), woodworking and clothiering not so much but she will do it for the gold.

What we don't understand is quite a lot, actually.

Writs and surveys? Just what are those? Mazul has a Woodworking Survey and Blacksmithing Survey for Glenumbra, which she hasn't looked at yet. She has done three writs (if those jobs you pull off the notice board are writs), one each of blacksmithing, clothiering and woodworking. She certainly has enough iron, jute and rawhide to keep taking them. Our biggest problem right now are the racial material (Manganese, flint, etc) we need to make them. That's harder to find, especially those she already knows (we were excited last night when Mazul found a Nord crafting book - she can now craft Orc, Argonian and Nord stuff - Julian has Redguard, Khajiit and Argonian racial motifs).

I'm trying to understand how to bring up Mazul's skills so that Julian, who is finding High Iron (I suspect that's for steel) and Hide scraps in Stormhaven can collect them and send them back.

And somewhere someone mentioned mats? Materials? Material skills? Not doing writs until crafting skills were maxed out?

I'm trying to make sense out of all this so Mazul and Julian can continue their separate adventures together (if that makes sense) and to identify opportunities for new characters (I'm thinking alchemy and maybe enchanting would be next, for a mage character).

I'm also learning about guild stores. Just the other day, Mazul figured out how to buy something from a guild store. If we could sell stuff through one of those things, it would be cool, but not if we have to be concerned with meeting quotas. At this point, we haven't settled into a routine. I suspect Julian wants to complete the Covenant quest line before settling down to a support role, and Mazul isn't confident enough yet to sell through the Guild stores. So we're selling to ESO merchants, deconstructing, and researching the loot we pick up. It's slow, but we now have 2,000 in the bank. And how does one sell through the Guild stores, anyway? mALX mentioned something about invites?

Anyway, I have lots more questions, but now I've got to go. Thanks for all the info, even though some of it is still confusing to me (first MMO and all that).
hazmick
First off - I really wouldn't buy the bank assistant unless you think it's absolutely worth it. You'd be better off spending your money on straight up inventory space upgrades (Which can be done in the crown store and with in-game gold).

Writs are the little craft jobs that you pull from the boards. They reward you with crafting experience, materials (mats), and the occasional item. The higher your crafting skills, the better the rewards from writs.

Surveys are maps that lead to areas with a high concentration of raw materials.

Racial style material (Manganese, flint, etc) can be found in random containers, from deconstructing gear, and bought from crafting vendors.

You can buy stuff from any guild store, but you can only sell in a guild store if you're a member of that guild.

There's a lot to take in early in the game, but that's what we're here for biggrin.gif
Grits
Rider, I second hazmick’s advice about the bank assistant. In a little more time the inventory crunch eases up a bit once you buy bag and bank space and train your riding skills. I would wait and see if you’d rather spend the Crowns on something else.

That said, I am a big fan of the Crafting Bag that comes with ESO Plus subscriptions as long as you are a subscriber. It is like cloud storage for crafting. When you harvest something it goes straight into the bag, which is shared among all of your characters like the bank. Then when you go to a crafting station the materials are available just like banked materials. Same thing when you deconstruct something.

I don’t know what someone meant by not doing writs until crafting skills are maxed. My characters do them from day 1 in part to help level up their crafting skills. Higher level characters get paid more for writs, maybe that’s what they meant?

One thing to note about survey maps, they must be in your character’s inventory when you go to the location for the plants, etc to appear (unless it’s different on PC, I only know the PS4 stuff). I know a person who printed out (seriously) copies of their various maps and then used the Destroy function to get rid of them in-game and clean up their inventory. When they discovered you need the map to get the items, they were upset!

For future reference when you find one, Treasure Maps work the same way. When you have the map in your character’s inventory a “dirt mound” will appear at the site. You will get a prompt telling you to dig. Just click it, and you will find the buried treasure. Just like the survey maps, no one else who randomly happens to be in the area can harvest your surveys or get your treasure map chest. The goods only appear to the person who has the map in their inventory.

For the player guilds someone has to invite you to join the guild, but it is easy to get invitations just by looking on the ESO forums. It is harder to choose a guild that won’t waste your time, but thankfully easy to just quit if you join one that turns out to be a ship of fools. I’ve had the best experience with guilds when Jerric has gotten surprise invites after being awesome to some stranger in a dungeon. The huge PS4 North America server trade guilds often have their own websites, but you PC folks may have better ways of communicating that I don’t know about. Unless someone you know invites you, this is something that can definitely wait until you want to spend the time looking into it, since you are using what you find to develop your own crafting.

This is the first MMO for me, too. I was confused as heck for a while and then things all of a sudden started to make sense. Sometimes the game will give you context for something you halfway learned but didn’t understand before. Just keep playing, and keep asking because we love to talk about this game! biggrin.gif

A collection so huge she needs four "Alts" and a 200 slot bank plus 3 characters and a bank on my son's abandoned account to hold it all, laugh.gif I'm about to go through it all and sell off or grind up anything she will never use (like battle axes that are a part of a set, etc.)

You are right, I was thrilled at how much income the writs brought in, but it couldn't keep up with Misa's shopping addiction ... er, issues ... I mean; in her defense, no other game we've played ever had this great of loot in their stores, laugh.gif

But even after she joined the five guilds, she still kept doing the crafting writs. To me they were a lot of fun and a great secondary income - not to mention how fast and steadily they build your skills up! She is just at or under 50 in Woodworking; Blacksmithing, and Clothier from doing nothing but writs and deconstruction.

Your sleepless Argonian should have a friend (cough, cough...Darnand...cough) help him raise his enchanting levels. The girl from Australia that I play with helped Misa go from 20 to 50 in under an hour. Intense training? - no, "In tents training!" BWAAHAA!!!!

Now Misa can train up any new characters I start (at least I think she can, not sure if someone from the same account can or not).

Agree 100% with Grits here, Haute. Misa has been doing three writs a day since Grits told us about them. Not only does it provide an income to expand your bank space and character's inventories; but it cranks your skill levels up by 1000 per writ. You can do one writ per day in each discipline and they only actually take minutes a day if you keep the materials in your bank account.

Now I personally don't advise raising your "Materials" skill levels in crafting armor and weapons until you feel confident enough in exploring your next area/territory of the Covenant; because raising that materials stat means you have to go to the next Province area to farm mats (materials) for your writs & surveys; and also turn them in at other Provinces - places that may be over your head for a while combat/enemy-wise.

I told Acadian the same thing when he and Buffy started out - do writs in the skills you want to train up; but only raise the materials levels when you have pretty well explored the next territory of your Alliance and feel comfortable in it so you are not stuck battling enemies over your level (or unable to do writs for periods due to not being able to go to the next Province yet).

*

The inventory problem you may be having is what a lot of people used to single-player games experience (me included) - In Oblivion/Skyrim/etc - we saved every quest reward as a memento; every bit of clothing we thought was "cute." We kept vast amounts of ingredients; and even collected things "just for fun" like teddy bears and garden gnomes, etc.

Well, it takes a while to break that habit. Your space is going to be limited in this game. You have to learn to budget your inventory, or do what Hazmick suggested = get an ESO "Plus" membership. The crafting "Bag of Holding" gives you unlimited storage for any crafting raw materials. Then your bank account and character's inventory are freed up for armor and weapons.

If you aren't wanting the "Plus" membership then the next best solution is to create "Alts" like I did - characters each give you 60 slots initially; and you can raise that level via backpack upgrades or horse training (if you have the Imperial Edition they each get the free horse).

They sit in the bank (usually buck naked) with names like "Ima Alt 3.") You are allowed 8 characters, so there is plenty of extra space, right? You would think so, but I'll warn you from experience that they are just a temporary fix. You have the extra space so feel free to hang onto more junk; and next thing you know you are back having inventory problems with a bank full of naked Alts.

I still need to learn how to budget the space restrictions of this game, and I've got 4 Alts plus have been sending my most junky junk to my son's abandoned account !!!!! laugh.gif

Just realised that the Morihaus armour set only comes in heavy armour. Kind of annoying, since now the only way for Haa-Rei to get Minotaur style gear is to craft it. I don't even have any heavy armour wearing characters to give the Morihaus to, so I can either deconstruct it or sell it for a handful of gold.

I'm also starting to see more and more Dro M'athra style pages for sale for a reasonable price (less than 25k) so I'm hoping the Minotaur style follows the trend.

You can do what I did = just get two rings and one necklace of the Morihaus. That makes 3 pieces of it. Make the 4th piece your weapon; Morihaus has every weapon type. If you are on PC I will send you any I have found; I was just going to sell them anyway. The only two Morihaus weapons I wanted I had to buy from the Guild Store = the sword and the dagger.

The 5th piece could be your helmet; and you can opt to hide that.

Just a way to get around that; and it leaves the rest of your armor open for some medium set that rounds out your protection build.

hazmick
I was mainly wanting the Morihaus stuff for the style rather than the bonuses (though they're pretty good).

I'm currently trying to get a full Briarheart set, then I'll craft some stuff from another set once I know which equipment slots I have free. The second set will either be Morkuldin or Eternal Hunt.

Heh, quite the collection already! So far Haa-Rei has a clannfear, a storm atronach, three guar, two horses, a bear, a dire wolf, an echalette, a lizard, a jackal, a dwemer spider and a scuttler.

Perhaps they should retire as adventurers and open an animal park?

This was exactly what I was referring to earlier. I couldn't find the earlier comment regarding this, so I couldn't figure out what that meant.

Now that Julian is in Stormhaven (and at level 17 so she's quite comfortable at this point), she is starting to see the next level stuff. And Mazul just picked up high iron ore, oak and flax from each of the crafting surveys she got.

So I'm still not clear on the "materials" levels. Do you mean holding off on crafting the next level up (I imagine that would be Steel, Hide and Oak equipment and armor) until Mazul is Level 15 or 16? She probably won't move on to Stormhaven until she is higher than that.

As for pets and mounts, Mazul hasn't found anything she wants to ride (unless it's that handsome Orc she met back in Betnikh . . . whistling.gif ), and she is unimpressed by Murphy the Windhelm Hound. She is taking Spangles the Abacean Ratter cat out. In the meantime, Julian has Bezo the Northern Lynx while they are exploring Stormhaven.

Uh oh, someone is throwing magic around in Daggerfall, so I'm going to go and make sure Mazul doesn't bash any silly heads . . .

In your crafting skills line, the first option you can sink skill points into is the leveled materials. Well, while your characters are still in Glenumbra and before they have finished up there = if you use skill points and raise that materials level up; all your subsequent Writs and Surveys after raising it will send you to Stormhaven (etc) either before your character is ready to go there or before the Daggerfall questline sends them there. So you may be stuck unable to do Surveys or Writs for a while till you can enter the next Province (or render you unabie to gather the mats due to the more powerful enemies in the new areas).

("One Tamriel" will make this conversation moot point anyway, but until it does = try to keep your materials level skill in tune with your character's abilities and progress).

(and of course, this is just my opinion).

Thanks! That helps a lot! Exactly what I was trying to understand. I will check it out next time I look at Mazul's crafting skills line. I try to sink a point or two there every time she levels up. Once we had nine points! I had fun with those points!

Next question: This is about the writs - do you get paid more if you craft higher level goods? Or is it the same whether you craft Level 1 goods vs. Level 12 (Mazul leveled up again this morning after a bit of croc hunting)? I didn't look too closely when I dropped the stuff off, so I'm not sure . . .

Mazul has plenty of raw/refined materials to craft higher levels now. We're focusing on deconstruction and research of all the loot and quests rewards she gets, unless there's one of particular value to her (such as the flame greatsword).

I haven't ventured with Julian yet, but maybe tonight I will! Man, juggling two characters with work hours and sleep is getting to be a challenge!

It is the same. You get paid according to your character level, not your crafting level or rank in the skill. Jerric gets 664 gold for all of his writs even though he has different levels and ranks in different craft skills.

@Grits and @mALX: yes, crafting is too much fun. I fell in love with it in Skyrim and am totally enjoying it in ESO.

Julian loves the provisioning line. She might take a hint from TESIV Julian and start alchemy, but she has to return to Daggerfall for the writs at this time. She has to anyway, to use the bank.

I've taken a page from the lessons I learned playing The Long Dark and have become quite ruthless at deconstructing and researching items picked up during our quests. I do have a question, I think I already know the answer. Researching a trait is specific to the item used, right? In other words, researching well-fitted on a pair of greaves does not mean that the same trait is counted as researched on a cuirass, yes? I'd have to research a cuirass with well-fitted traits to be able to craft a similar item?

Thanks for the answers about the writs. I'll focus on leveling up my characters as they (especially Mazul) work on the writs.

Oh, and Mazul found the place in Glenumbria where you can make the Night's Silence set. That's got her thinking, and we did some research on what she would like to have in her own set. Because she finds magical opponents the hardest to fight, Mazul thinks having armor with Magic Resistance and Magic Boost built in would help her.

Julian also told her about a certain quest enemy that is conquered only with fire, so Mazul is thinking how she can craft something that burns brighter than Blake's Tyger.

I think I said this before, but I'll say this again. I'm falling in love with Mazul. Tough, gruff, and yet a softie. Not a gooey, baby-talking softie, but the kind of softie that lets Spangles the Abacean Ratter ride her shoulder as she slogs through the swamps of Hag Fen. She'll even stop and let the cat climb up her back (another reason she favors the heavy armor!) when there are crocs or werewolves around. And she'll not say no when a beggar asks for "a loan."

Correct. It's good that you've started researching traits early, it can take a while but it's well worth it for set bonuses.

Mazul sounds great, and from the screenies I've seen she looks great too. What class is she?
Grits
Hautee, that’s great that you’re enjoying Mazul so much! It sounds like she has a kind heart.

Darnand started researching his very last staff trait yesterday. Jerric wanted to celebrate the event at the Rosy Lion (in Daggerfall), but Darnand decided to make some stronger enchantments for Jerric’s favorite sword and for two of his shields instead. Darnand is kind of a workaholic. And a perfectionist. He could easily give the finished glyphs to Jerric to use, but he insists that Jerric give him the gear so he can do it. This makes sense for shields since Darnand can also improve them with resins, but Jerric was a little uncomfortable handing over his favorite sword even to Darnand. When they met, Jerric noted that Darnand had gotten his hair cut but had not recently washed it. Also he could stand a change of robes. (He out-leveled them ages ago.) It made Jerric think that Darnand should take on an apprentice.

The trait learning is surprisingly specific. For woodworkers there are bows, shields and four kinds of staves. For clothiers, it is not only every body part for medium armor but every body part of light armor as well. It can seem endless if you want to learn it all. Lol.
Grits
Acadian, endless is exactly how it feels. Blacksmiths have all of the armor pieces plus all of the metal weapons! ohmy.gif All of my crafters have used skill points to reduce the research times, and I brought in my Argonian Stays-Up-Late for the purpose of helping to manage the enormous trait research inventory. It is worth it, though! The sets you can craft once you have researched a lot of traits are very cool.

For you PC players I have seen an Add-On field in inventory screenshots that tells you if a trait is researchable for that character so you don’t accidentally sell or deconstruct a research piece. I used notes that I stored in my phone to keep track of that, but an Add-On would be so much better!

I have tried one of the three add-ons for keeping track of multiple character's researching. It is a bit klunky, I've been tempted to test its competition.

What I've done up till now (still doing since I'm not sure I'll keep using the add-on) is used an 8 X 12 sheet of paper for all three of the Armor types; and another sheet for the Woodworking and Weapons = made a gridwork so I could keep track of each character and who had researched what.

Once one character has researched something, you kind of don't need to hang onto that trait/item type anymore and have them clogging up your inventory because that character can now just make that item for the others to research from as needed. (a cheap level one item with just the trait) = that way the good drops you have been holding for research can be deconstructed, giving you some breathing room in your inventories/bank account, laugh.gif

Actually, Acadian and I have been covering each other on that. Misa sent Buffy a lowest level bow she crafted with a trait Buffy needed; Buffy sent back a bow she had crafted with a trait Misa needed badly and hadn't come across. Now Misa has made a bow with that trait for Calia to learn from.

** On a totally different note (almost) = Misa made Master Clothier last night! She immediately sank her free skill points into the Materials Leveling skill so she can now make Daedric; Dwarven; Ancient; (etc) Medium and Light armor !!! WOO HOO !!!!!

Since getting that achievement freed up her time and she had some to spare, she decided to get a couple more achievements. She now has the "I Like M'aiq" achievement for talking to him in every Province (she only lacked two Provinces when she started; Rivenspire and Reaper's March) - WOO HOO!

She got the "This One's On Me" achievement for buying a drink for the Undaunted in every Province (she only lacked one to complete it) = WOO HOO!

Since she was on a roll, she crept into the Rosy Lion (looking for Jerric's expertise) and a few other places to pull a prank. She stole a full set of armor, put it all on, then went out and pickpocketed a guard. Of course the guards always confiscate your stolen goods, lol. The screens of her arrest:

IPB Image

And that gave her two more achievements - one for indecent exposure, as you can see by the screen, lol.

So Misa had a good fun night once the server came back up!

Congrats to Misa the Master Clothier! Sounds like a fun night!

Jerric has been sampling strange meat to help an Orsimer cook he met in Wrothgar. She gave him some neat recipes for his help. Not what he was hoping she’d give him, but still better than a punch to the groin.

He was overjoyed to hear of Misa’s night of pranks. Here he is at the Rosy Lion, toasting Misa’s success. (The other patrons rudely still wearing their shirts are obviously not Nords.)

Buffy's combat skill set is so focused (mostly bow and summoning) that she's finding that even after supporting passives and a few misc things she still has plenty of skill points and seems to be earning them faster than she can spend them.

She's been perking woodworking and clothier for some time. Now she just got into enchanting and quite likes it.

Congrats to Misa on becoming a Master of Clothes! Hopefully this will help support her shopping habit . . .

Loved the shot of Jerric toasting the band - I kind of expect him to do the mash pit next! Certainly dressed for it, right down to those leather pants and the matching codpiece! wink.gif

Mazul is going to town on those writs - primarily the equipment writs. Julian is going to cover the consumables board, though we are still scratching our heads over the enchanting stuff.

I have more questions, but I think I'm going to move them over to the Tips and Tricks board. I think that's a better thread for our newbie stumblings.

@Haa-Rei: Mazul is a DragonKnight, and she put a lot of her early points into her offensive spells. Now we are focusing more on the crafting lines, especially the equipment crafts. At this point we haven't started crafting steel - that is not a perk she has selected even though she is now Level 12 overall. I can't remember her Blacksmithing level, I think it's somewhere around 15?

Did the meat whinny when he stuck a fork in it? (Oblivion Orc reference!)

BWAAHAA!!!! What a great shot !!!! Misa thought of Jerric when she chose that particular prank; and his habit of stepping out nude in the middle of the night to visit the whorehouse, then realizes when he gets there that his gold sack was in his greaves, rollinglaugh.gif

But Misa is a Nord, and she still has never spent as much time naked as Calia; who spent her late teens setting the fashion in the Aldmeri of going to battle Dolman while pantsless under her jack:

Some of their achievements are a hoot !!!!!

I kind of expected Buffy would like Enchanting once she got started; I mean - if she is making her own bows, of course she would want to enchant them!!! Really Awesome how fast she is progressing!

Glad I could make your day!

Last night after work I logged on with Julian first, and we did some stuff in Stormhaven. Then I switched over to Mazul and bought more storage space at the stable. For the second time I had someone whisper to me "are you RP'ing?" I said not really, and the other said "Oh well. happy gaming then." So Mazul's name is catching RP players' attention?
Acadian
Rider, sounds like you're having great fun with Julian and her big pal, Mazul. It seems that you get a cosmetic change to your mount once you buy 20 stable training sessions. Buffy got her saddlebags to show up then. Now she's working on 20 speed training sessions to get those nifty speed straps on Superian.

Buffy's level 32 and questing in Greenshade. It seems she is always a bit higher level than her quests require. I figure that means she's slow, methodical and always sticking her curious little nose into things. No surprise there.

We've decided that her skill set is so focused that she seems to have plenty of skill points to support woodworking, clothing and enchanting - everything a mystic archer needs!

Her clannfear + bow skills + sneak (no melee) seems to be working wonderfully as long as she doesn't charge into things.

mALX just gifted her with a fabulous set of armor that is similar to Calia's but in Bosmer style - so that should help her for quite awhile.

Oh, and she got tired of waiting to see if the crown store was going to offer the palomino again and brought back Superian's Oblivion colors (black with white feet, mane, tail).

Edit: Oh, on the RP questions, another possibility that comes to mind - Buffy is typically the only PC that I see walking. Even Superian normally walks. The only time either of them run is when tactics require it. I can imagine that might prompt some RP inquiries. Didn't you say your girls generally walk?
Grits
Rider, I think Acadian is onto something with the walking. That plus a lore-friendly name would attract RPers, possibly interested in recruiting you for their guild. On the PS4 NA server they are always looking for more RPers. There is an orc guild that has fun-looking events in Daggerfall from time to time. They are on their own voice channel so I can't hear what they're saying, but they're acting like orcs and not like kids who have chugged every Monster drink in the fridge.

Acadian, Jerric thought of Superian when he first saw that black and white horse. happy.gif The palomino is available as part of the Gold bundle (the game plus 4 DLC I think). I'm glad Buffy has a mount she is happy with, and as always things are subject to change! Fabulous news that Buffy has found a set of skills that work plus some interesting crafts to support them!

Darnand is still waiting for a horse coloration that he deems worthy of Banner. He has seen the grey Yokudan charger at the stables, not for sale of course. That's the one we're hoping makes it back into the Crown store, though I would be even happier seeing it for sale in-game for gold.
haute ecole rider
Yes. We walk more than run. The only time I put them into run is if they're working on storyline quests. Otherwise, resource collection, moving from point A to point B, and generally just being in the world, they're walking.

And yes, that does make them stand out more. But only Mazul has gotten the RP question, so I suspect they're drawn to the name as well. When we're walking, I think it's easier to see our names and whisper to us before we fall off their radar. The PC's that run around are so fast that I never see their names for long, let alone long enough to figure out which name goes with which PC.

Especially in Daggerfall on the weekends.

Julian is finally in Wayrest, and it looks like she is suckered into hitting people up for loans. Just can't say no to a kitty! Mazul is at the bank waiting for Julian to send more high iron ore her way so she can finish her blacksmithing writ. Now I understand about not leveling up the smithing skills until you're ready to move into the next zone. We thought we could start crafting steel armor for Mazul while doing the iron writs, but nope.

Actually, Buffy's new armor is the duplicate of Misa's, not Calia's. But since making that one for Buffy, Calia is now wanting one too. She is only level 24, which is the change point for armor; so I'm making her wait till she gets level 26 before making her a new armor. Meanwhile she is wearing Whitestrake's Retribution (screens later).

Ooh, congrats on the new horse! I can't wait to see it!

I just saw that Palomino "Gold Edition" thing too; I wish when they make bundles they would take into account their loyal fan base who already paid for the game (twice in my household) - make a lower bundle price for any two DLC; or offer us the Palomino again!

But it (the Palomino) was popular enough that I'm sure it will be back.

Lildereth had a religious experience in Greenshade. Here's the aftermath:

***

Jerric staggered up the stairs to his rented room at the Cold Moon Inn. Music and laughter sounded from the tavern downstairs as well as through the window at the end of the corridor. Something made him pause and set down his ale before he unlocked the door. He entered with a hand on his belt knife.

Lildereth knelt in the center of his bed in her white flannel nightdress, brushing her hair. Her packs sat next to his with her cloak folded neatly over them. She smiled at him.

"Sprig! You made it! In time for the—" Jerric gestured with his empty hand, then noticed its emptiness and picked up the ale. "The whatever this is!"

"Is this the same party as last time? It's hard to tell."

Jerric shut the door and kissed the top of her head in greeting. "How did you find me?"

"I heard Thane Jeggi was staying here. That seemed unlikely, so I checked the rooms until," she picked up a pillow and sniffed it, "I found yours."

"Yeah, I've been here three days already."

"So I smell. How was Kvatch?"

"Grim." Jerric pulled off his boots. "How was Greenshade?"

Lildereth crawled over and sat up on her knees so she could put her arms around Jerric's neck, gaining his rapt attention. She pressed her forehead to his in her most foreign and endearing gesture. They shared a breath.

"I am redeemed," she murmured.

There was a lightness about her that Jerric had only seen before in unguarded moments. She sat back down and picked up her brush again.

"What happened? Are you going to tell me about it?"

"No." Lildereth gave him a tired smile. "Can we just go to sleep?"

"Uh," Jerric stalled. He had planned to pass out, but now he didn't want to miss being awake with her. "Are you hungry? I can get us a meal."

"No, thank you."

"Do you want some ale?"

"I already cleaned my teeth."

"I could rub your feet?"

"No," Lildereth giggled, "but good effort."

He sighed. "Should I take a bath?"

"If you have to ask…"

Jerric watched her for another moment. Some wood elf thing I probably wouldn't even understand, he decided. Maybe she'll tell Darnand and he'll tell me about it.

Lildereth put down her brush and slid her legs under the furs. "I'll leave a candle burning for you," she hinted.

"Thanks." Jerric shed his tunic and socks on the way to the door. Then he turned back to look at her again. "Whatever it was, I'm glad about it."

"Mmm. Oh, wait, I almost forgot to ask you something!" She sat up and snorted the hair away from her eyes. "If you're not too busy, would you like to go with me to a wedding?"

mALX

So she and Jerric are going to get ... the "M" word? I got a kick out of her trying to share thoughts like Buffy did with Violet, lol,

I want to see her in the wedding dress! Misa tried them both on, and the man's wedding garb looked better on her, lol.

Ha, if Lil thought Jerric could read her thoughts that way, she'd wear a spiky helmet! That's just a Jerric's World Bosmeri greeting. No need to buy presents, they're going to an NPC wedding, lol. Maybe. It's a quest I haven't done yet, so who knows what will happen?

I love how Lil is in many ways similar to Buffy but her striking difference is that she is so full of mystery - as opposed to Buffy's 'spill her guts in her diary and wear her emotions on her sleeve' style. Did a bit of thinking the other day, as one does, and decided that I needed a new character. Haa-Rei is a sorcerer/ranger, Trivea is a nightblade, and Cirinwe is...another sorcerer. The issue is that Ciri is scared of destruction magic (fire especially) so she was just using restoration, and thus struggling as a lone adventurer.

So I had a chat with Ciri and she decided that she'd like to try something new. A quick restart later and sorcerer Cirinwe has been reborn as templar Cirinwe.

The templar abilities all revolve around healing and Aedric light - basically what Ciri is all about. She's still the same womer, but now she wears heavy armour and hits people as well as throwing spells at them. It's a lot of fun, and it suits her perfectly.

Poor Haa-Rei almost had a heart attack when I told him to make Ciri some heavy armour, but after seeing her in it he quite likes the new Ciri too.

So Mazul leveled up to - I think it's 14 - today. She is still crafting and still adventuring, taking things steady and systemically. She has cleared the Skyshards and Lore Books from the southern half of Glenumbra, and only has the northern part left to go. While taking back Camlorn, she got an invite to join the Brothers of Troy guild. It's a group of people who just like to game (I whispered to the guy who invited me to learn more about it, then decided to give it a try). I figure if Mazul and Julian don't like it, we can just leave the guild. But the key here is that I can ask for help in group dungeons if I need it. We'll see how it works out.

After that adventure, it was time to take Julian out. We went back to the Koeglin Village area and relit the lighthouse and killed the slaver captain. Then we went into a dungeon and picked up a couple more skyshards before returning to Wayrest. I left her in the Fighters Guild waiting to find out what Sees-All-Colors needs. In some ways the woman reminds me of Kud-Ei back in Bravil. Julian also leveled up - 20 as of last night.

Both girls are buying horse storage like crazy. They also chipped together and bought more bank space. So things are easing up inventory wise. We are also starting to leave our raw materials in the bank and carry only our refined/crafted stuff with us.

I really need to start incorporating potions/provisions into our gameplay. It was never something we used much in Oblivion or Skyrim, as I found little value in those things. However, things are getting challenging for my two ladies, so I'm thinking about using more of Julian's potions and provisions.

Aaaand that's the update! Getting late, and I have another busy day tomorrow, so I'm off to bed now. I want to get a couple hours more of ESO in tomorrow morning before I leave for work, but I can only do it if I get up early enough . . . biggrin.gif
