Put your disc in the drive, start Windows Explorer, and see if it shows there. Double-click on Readme.txt to make sure you can read from the disc. If you can, its not a problem with your disc. My guess would be Securerom or whatever drm solution Oblivion has. If you can't read the disc, then make sure its clean, and look for cracks and scratches.
Oh, I have two discs in my Oblivion GOTY. Make sure you are using disc 1. It may be that is the only one the launcher looks for when you start up the game.
And wow, $15 for the whole enchilada! That is the great thing about playing old games. You can get them really cheap.
Did all of that. Windows Explorer shows there is no disc in the DVD drive. If I right click my DVD drive in Explorer and choose
open, it tells me to insert a disc when it is already in. I am using Disc 1. When I double click the OBSE launcher, an error message says I need to insert the disc when it is already in. The Readme.txt file (from when I originally loaded the game years ago) does not address the issue at all. It's just bizarre, because this is only happening with my Oblivion disc.

I remember Red Dead Revolver on the first xbox. So awesome!
A prequel, maybe?

Red Dead Redemption is a sequel I think. Maybe. You certainly didn't need to know anything of Red Dead Revolver in order to enjoy it.
Red Dead Redemption is by far my favorite game by Rock Star. GTA is a lot more popular, but I prefer the wild west, and Marston is actually a pretty good guy. The story is very good. Gameplay is more fluid than GTA games were. And the horses rocked. BethSoft wanted theirs to be like RDR's and they missed it by a lot.
I agree entirely with you. Red Dead Redemption is a fanstatic game. The story is great, the gameplay is fun and everything is impressive. Just bought it two weeks ago and never stopped playing it.
Now, apeaking of Grand Theft Auto . . . the new game looks amazing. The
gameplay looks far more impressive than the previous ones. Scuba diving? Tenis? Customization for weapons, cars and even appearance? Hunting animals and bounties? Bike riding? Yes, please!

Playing State of Decay on the 360. Basically an open world zombie apocalypse game where you play as survivors who have to scavenge for everything, build and defend home bases, barricade buildings, and shoot/stab/run over mobs of zombies.
Takes a while to figure the game out but once you do it is an amazingly entertaining game and probably the best zombie game I've ever played because it has some level of depth to it with skills that level up with use and any character that you get on good grounds with can be played as.

I managed to find an RPG group in Adelaide last night, which was wonderful. We played a rules-light RPG called Apocalypse world, a system designed for, you guessed it, post-apocalyptic settings. And it quickly degenerated into a highly disturbing game and it was largely my fault.
You see, the character I had picked was a mask-wearing, machete-wielding unstoppable harbinger of murderous destruction who believed his mask could talk to him, going by the name of 'Shank'. And in Apocalypse world, there is no money system, so instead of using GP or dollars or what have you, characters use different things to barter with; our group's gunslinger character did jobs in return for bullets or guns, the driver character would trade for fuel or spare parts for his big ol' truck, and our engineer/mystic guy did stuff in exchange for favours to call in. In order to make his way into the world, Shank traded in organs, so there was a moment in the session where the GM had to work out Shank's loot from a couple of thugs he had macheted. Usually, it's an affair of 'there's a total of twenty gold pieces, three silver pieces and two coppers in their coinpurse, and one of them has a Cold-Iron shortsword in his belt', but in this case it was 'One of them's a young, fit guy and he's got a good heart, but by the looks of his liver and kidneys he has a drug habit of some kind so they won't be worth much. The other doesn't seem to be a smoker and has a very good pair of lungs, so they would be worth taking'.
On one hand, it was the most envelope-pushing RPG session I've ever played, but on the other hand it did have some insanely fun moments like when Shank used a bike chain to improvise a flail with another enemy and span around bowling bad guys over while his mask hummed a waltz. That was fun.
