I had all three Colony Wars games and beaten them though the first game is still my favorite.

A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia dropped today. It’s taking some getting accustomed to. It’s very familiar but also strange at the same time. The map is so dense with settlements and there are so many factions at the start of the game. It plays good though. Some of the functions have been streamlined, and this is also taking some getting used to. The battles are as engaging as ever.

Was about to play Fallout 4, but for whatever reason my last save is nowhere to be found. The latest save that shows isn't too far back, but it is just annoying. Don't know how it isn't showing up. And the time stamps on the last 10 or so saves are jumbled up. In hindsight I guess I should've known something was wrong, because the last couple sessions of playing the game the length of time between time stamps was way longer than what I had made it before. No idea what is going on.

Anyway, I decided to help out the Railroad. Annoying that I have to do some Institute quests for them to stay undercover, but I guess it makes sense. Piper is not going to like some of the choices I have to make, but she'll be fine. I've maxed out the affinity anyway. Still, I wish the game's programming would acknowledge this has to be done for the Railroad, and thus not affect affinity with Piper at all.

Yeah, that’s one reason why I refuse to play BGS games “dead is dead”, and why I run a mod allowing for some save options in F4 Survival difficulty. So much can go wrong whether it be from crazy world glitches to save file issues.

When you go to load your saves, make sure it has All Saves selected. Fallout 4 tries to separate each character's save games, but it can get confused, and will sometimes hide the saves it should not. This especially happens if you manually save via the console. But it also happens if you started the game with no mods, and then added some. It wants to separate the modded and unmodded saves.

I don't have any mods, so there shouldn't be an issue there. I've never messed with or even seen an All Saves feature, so I'll have to check it out. Still wondering why the time stamps are jumbled up though. I'll see if I can figure out what the deal is.
RaderOfTheLostArk
Turns out I am dumb. Well, sort of. My latest save was there. I just happened to skim over it without noticing it was the save I was looking for since the recent saves got jumbled up. Just got to the quest Mass Fusion now.

Today I finally finished the main quest of Fallout 4, wiping out the Institute as part of the Railroad. I've got to say: it wasn't as satisfying to bring down the Institute as I had thought it would be. And I don't mean that as a criticism. Quite the opposite, in fact. I didn't think I would have any second thoughts about doing things the way I did, or having any empathy with the Institute's way of viewing things. Quite a lot of people died at the end. Rather a poignant moment at the end with Father too. So I'll give some kudos to Bethesda. I still feel that no Institute is much better for the Commonwealth though.

I guess this is it for Fallout 4 for now. Maybe a session here and there, but probably not much beyond that for the time being. I hope to get the Far Harbor DLC later on.

I'm playing Tom Clancy's EndWar. Other then Xcom, EndWar is probably the first RTS type game I've played.

Also I'm playing Metroid Prime Hunters on the 3DS. Interesting game but man are the control awful! I wish there was a better control customization for this game.

Ah that feeling that you get when an area in a game kicks your ass then you turn around and kick its ass .
I'm playing Metroid Prime Hunters on the 3DS and got to an area where I was trying to get a weapon upgrade but I kept failing at the puzzle and it finally pissed me off so I quit. Then after cooling down I got back at it and beat the area. MPH is an interesting game for the old DS but damn they could have done something better with the controls.

Thanks...funny thing I'm not even done with the game. It's still impressive for an old DS game and it amazes me how much it parallels Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption with MP3 borrowing elements from Hunters in using your ship to travel from level to level. The only draw back are the controls and lack of a customization.

Yeah I’m not happy with a game that doesn’t allow me to customize. Hence why I will never touch any of the Witcher games. Playing as that sour looking guy for any length of time doesn’t interest me.

Been playing Transport Fever hot and heavy...until my mouse wheel went belly-up after tonight's supper. One thing this play-through is becoming more and more apparent; my train line planning and track laying ability leave much to be desired. Much. All this theoretically fixable even this far into the game. That said, I doubt I'll attempt more than the most rudimentary fixes. (Such as relaying track sections to remove unneeded dips and rises where practical.

Much like with Mashinky, I've created several "towns" from scratch, thanks to the mod Plop Town Buildings (and others). Wasn't sure the passenger train routes I sent to them would see any passengers. To my delight, citizens or more than happy to ride those trains. Heck, one faux passenger route does better than several "legitimate" routes. It started out as a vanity run with one passenger coach. It now sports four coaches, which it fills or nearly fills at its several stops. The second faux passenger route, my only electric loco, doesn't carry enough folks to earn its keep, but so what?

My women have disappeared!!!!! Not sure when it happened. First noticed it following a recent performance update. I suspect a conflict between update and one of my zillion installed mods. Time Warp is prime suspect, though that's pure speculation. Doesn't seem to affect the game in any noticeable way (other than the obvious) so I'm not gonna worry over it...for now.

Been playing a bit of Oblivion lately, but I've gotten the stealth game itch so I'm playing some Thief fan missions and they're as buggy as Elder Scrolls mods.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder why I haven't played Dishonored yet. It's basically the Thief series' modern incarnation, and also totally my aesthetic. Since I can't play Bloodborne and Greedfall won't be out for a while, maybe it's enough to satisfy my Gothic itch.

Khajiit really likes the original Dishonored. It has one of this one’s all time favorite missions in a video game which is loosely based on EAP’s Masque of the Red Death. The game definitely gets the Khajiit Seal of Approval. Haven’t played Dishonored2 as the aesthetic of the new location didn’t seem to do it for this one like Dunwall did.

I'm playing Tom Clancy's EndWar on the DS and its totally different then the PC or Console ports. There's no voice command but you can use the stylist and there's the addition of naval and air units. In the console and PC port you didn't have direct control of naval units but I think sometimes there are naval units outside certain maps and air units are only limited to airstrikes. I like to use Riflemen to secure uplinks, Engineers to upgrade those uplinks, tanks to take out the enemies troops and ground vehicles, Transports for Helos, Helos for Tanks and artillery for raining down the the pain.

Captured some video footage of one of my few "sceniced" Transport Fever train routes, a rail journey beginning at a passenger station in a faux town near my map's Goods Factory, stopping at another faux town station mid route, then continuing on to the passenger station in one of my "legitimate" game generated towns (Chesham). Don't know that I'll edit the raw footage for posting on YouTube. If so, I doubt it'll be voiced. (Most YouTube Transport Fever ride-alongs I've watched aren't for some reason.) My feeble attempts at landscaping are pathetic compared to the "pro" landscapers seen at YouTube.

My early poor track planning is coming back to haunt me. I can of course correct this via generous use of the bulldozer. I don't have the heart to do so. I am, however, correcting some of my worse track and road laying errors, mostly getting rid of needless dips and rises. Even then I don't touch track and roads that require bulldozing nearby structures to straighten out. (I'll occasionally consider bulldozing one or two structures, but that's about as far as I want to go.)

Gog.com is giving away Unreal Gold for free right now. Go and get a copy before it's too late!

I just installed it, and it wouldn't work with the D3D driver installed. I had to uninstall and reinstall the game, and pick the 3dfx driver. It works fine with that (even though I have an Nvidia card!)

Coincidentally, I have been on my second playthrough of Unreal. Excellent game. At the Sunspire currently. I have it through GOG but decided to grab it through Steam too since it is for free. But it is absolutely worth paying for.

I also had some technical issues through one of those rendering options or whatever it was when I installed it both the first time and the last time. Whatever the option I had to turn on was, it makes the game run like a dream though.

Thank you. Khajiit played it a little bit a long time ago but never got very far. It came along with a handful of other games that were included with a PC this one’s folks bought in the late 90’s. Games like Hexen, Quake2, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (the first one), and a few others Khajiit can’t remember the names of atm. Honestly, right now this one has enough games to keep him busy (with more on the way later this year), so for now Khajiit is going to pass on downloading Unreal.

I continue to play Transport Fever far too much. Only yesterday and today have I been able to reduce play time by any significant amount, and then not all that much. I still consider the map I play a learners' map and plan to start afresh at some point. I'm not ready for that yet. Might not be for some time. Don't yet know enough to avoid the many mistakes I've made this time round, or come up with a well defined plan for what I want to do and how I need to do it. Besides, warts and all there's still much to enjoy with my current map, and much yet to do.

I'm still somewhat tempted to upload a compilation of trains traversing my map's few adequately "landscaped"areas. I have enough raw footage in the can for such a video. But, I'm not sure even my best efforts are good enough for public scrutiny...as if anyone's gonna watch 'em, LOL.

(I still haven't got around to uploading my third Mashinky "ride-along," which was ready to post early March.)

In Transport Fever, just the other day I discovered, to my surprise and horror, that the rail station at my Crude Oil Well complex, was almost totally clogged with fuel, with little room for Crude needed at the Refinery. What a SNAFU. Spent hours resolving it. Fuel was sent away to a nearby city, never to enter the Crude station again. Or so I thought. Turns out of neglected to correct one small mistake. Launched the game a while ago, to find one of Crude Stations two rail terminate almost totally clogged with fuel again. Corrected that one mistake. Am now waiting it out and hoping for the best.

Except for the above SNAFU, improvements to inner-city freight trucking, and some not-always-successful attempts to renovate less that stellar railway/road crossings, my time is mainly devoted to "scenicing" isolation sections of the map, one short fuel delivery line in particular.

Which reminds me to need to redo the signaling along tracks on one end of my Oil Refinery Rail Station. Nothing particularly wrong with 'em. They work as intended. But placement is a bit sloppy, and I prefer the newer signal types in most circumstances.
