I've gone fairly old school with my gaming choice recently: Lost Odyssey!

It's a pretty epic RPG that was released years ago, and it's one of my favorite games. Anybody else played this?

I am a Witcher novice so i got the enhanced edition...

I've played it,, I think I got to the 3rd disc before getting caught up with something else. It's sitting in my pile of "games to finish". But Oblivion, Fallout 3, and recently Xcom: Enemy Unknown keep getting in the way.




Would that be Dragon Age Origins or DA2? I'm a huge fan of Origins, but after hearing about the changes they made for DA2 I didn't buy it, and going by the reception it got I'm glad I didn't. The Witcher falls into the same category as Lost Odyssey does above, but I don't think my laptop will run it, unlike my old one it's got integrated graphics. *shrugs*

DA:O at the moment but I will admit to being a big fan of the second one, yeah it's different and yes it does have it's faults for sure but nevertheless it is a good game in my view, certainly gave me a lot of hours of fun.
I think there was a lot of Fanboy hysteria about it because it was so different but I thought, personally, that it was not anywhere near as bad as folk, certainly on the forums, were making out it was.
As I say, I liked it.

Oh yeah, additionally I'm playing Aralon on the Tablet - and that's very good as well, got a couple of other Tablet RPGs lined up too, so it's looking quite busy on the Phon gaming front...

Dragon Age 2 was fun but was reused the exact same layout for countless dungeons and forced you to be human. It was more cinematic than the first game and I enjoyed it but the ending was nowhere near as detailed and I didn't like being forced into a named character's role.

I think the majority of people who disliked it did so for the reasons I noted.

As for the Witcher series, to say I'm a huge fan would be an understatement.

I tried to find out more about this Wotcher thing all the kids be chizzleizzing about, and all I could think about was "NOBODY'S WEARING PANTS!!!!!!!!!" Oh, Middle Ages, you cheeky so-and-so.

The Witcher is great but is very adult. There's no shortage of nudity or adult language so if that sort of thing offends you or your parents will freak out then consider yourself warned.

I really liked it because it has multiple endings and is not afraid to "go there" when it comes to taboo situations. I also thought the voice acting was great and the graphics were decent too. The story is definitely the best aspect though.

I never played The Witcher but I did watch a few scenes of it on Youtube, including some of the special cards you receive for courting a certain woman or a group of women. Yes, the game is explicit but adult. I can't wait to get The Wild Hunt for the Playstation 4.

No, I meant how every grubby peasant in Flotsam(?) has elected to wear Medieval briefs/booty shorts. Then again, trousers were for barbarians.

I just placed an order on the oldie but goodie(?) SimCity 3000. I put a question mark where I did because last time I played it I ended up throwing the disc on the floor in frustration over the fact that people fled my prosperous town where everyone got what they wanted. Deserters I found pieces of the disc months afterwards!

Still, I miss it and I look forward playing it again

Well, I've been utterly dragged back into Xcom: Enemy Unknown.

It does a phenomenal job of building atmosphere, and defending Earth from Aliens in a turn based strategy is hugely entertaining.

Interesting. You know I hardly hear anything about this game but I wondered if it was any good or not.

It's a great game, if you like turn based strategy games. It's set in the near future, so it doesn't start out all sci-fi, units gain experience which gets them new abilities as they gain promotions, usually giving you a choice of two options at each rank. What I think is one if it's best features though is that your units can die, not just get knocked out of the fight.

What got me back into it was watching this guy take a run at the highest difficulty in ironman mode, so no reloads.

Very cool to see X-Com: Enemy Unknown in action. I loved the first two X-Com games.

Edit: Well that did it. I fired up X-Com: Terror From the Deep. I have intercepted a few subs, and now the aliens have attacked Easter Island. Wish me luck!

I just completed Dishonored without being seen, without killing anyone and using only the most basic magical power your character gets. It's official; I am steampunk Batman.

And then I decided I'd try the Brigmore Witches DLC expansion and spent my time clumsily blundering through that as Daud, supposed 'Master Assassin'.

Fifa 14,I've ruined my favourite club now I feel bad.

I treated myself to a copy of Metro: Last Light for my birthday and I'm playing it on Ranger Hardcore difficulty; this game is an absolutely brutal affair.

I am so into this game at the moment, it's quite simply brilliant.
It is adult but yeah whatever, I am an adult and I'm feeling refreshed that it doesn't patronise me. The story is great, the concept just works as a game, the music and graphics rock and I think I may have found my new game obsession, lol!
The story - (TWI) - is really good and the way the quests and so forth work out is really nicely done, additionally CDP have done so well with Bioware's Aurora engine - they've really owned it.
I make no apologies if I sound like a fanboy!!

It is an excellent FPS game. Probably the best I've played in years. The unique setting and gameplay mechanics set it apart from anything else I've experienced and in an exclusively positive way.

It is very adult but in a natural way that doesn't feel forced. The story plays like reality without filtration or any dilution , which is refreshing. They didn't go out of their way to make the game for kids and it is great.

Well, I'm still playing Pokemon Y, and now I'm adding another game to the mix.

Been watching the newer Batman movies, well, two of them anyway. The Dark Knight Rises was just awful, but anyway, they've got me in the mood to play Batman: Arkham Asylum, so I've fired that up again.

Damn good game.

The Witcher, still.

Currently, Android-wise, I can recommend 9th Dawn: a so-far cracking Olde Skool RPG.

I've not played it much, but it's pretty fun so far.
