Which Bioshock game Liz?
And I'm zapping my way through Dragon Age: Origins with my elven mage. Got the difficulty set on nightmare, so the game's putting up a good fight.
But so far it's losing.

Excellent choice. One of my all time favourite games. Now that you've mentioned it I might have to replay it myself for the 384759275th time
I'm currently playing through Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, since it was free on the Xbox One. Got 100% completion on the 360 version so I might try for it again here.

Well, my bastard run at Dragon Age Origins continues, he's now wrapped up the business with the treaties, for maximum pragmatism of course. In all honesty, it's getting kind of boring. Nightmare difficulty is no match for an Arcane Warrior with massive armour, boss fights tend to come down to him wearing the thing down while the rest of the party go down. Takes a while, but the guy's practically unkillable, so he's got the time.

Arcane Warrior with the right stats, right abilities and right equipment can solo the final boss. Tis a pretty OP class, really.

Yeah, it's one of those classes that throws balance clean out the window. I'm actually considering ditching this run. The plan was to take the character into Witch Hunt, but with how dull this monster's making the game, it might just ruin it.
I've got a couple of other character planned; another mage; Blood Mage/Spirit Healer or possibly Arcane Warrior(not for the talents beyond combat magic's ability to expand equipment choices), and a sword and shield fighter, I'm thinking Berserker/Reaver for something more offensive.

You could try one of my builds that is just so mediocre in a fight. Basicay, this build's all about Talking For The Group, and when negotiations die and violence ascends, he goes at the party's flank and throws bombs and other harmful flasks while healing and supporting the other party members.
It was a fun challenge.
The focus shifted from the main character to maintaining proper growth on the others.

Jul 26 2015, 01:46 PM
Well I've not taken a proper crack at either style of character in DA:O. I took a stab at an S&S fighter, but it was pretty boring, though Berserker/Reaver should give him a more offensive setup. And without the Arcane Warrior's resilience the mage could be pretty interesting, give me an opportunity to use more of the spells, there's a fair few I've not tried out.
I figure I'll try something that isn't insanely overpowered on Nightmare before trying something more limiting.
Edit: Scratch that, Champion/Reaver, not Berserker/Reaver
edit 2: Actually, either might be fun...

Destiny was a biggie for a while...Rather enjoyed the simple delights of shooting-aliens-inna-head sort of thing...
Then I got to a certain point and had to stop again...
So far - aside from a couple of not entirely enthusiastic hours on Dragon's Dogma this morning - nothing else has grabbed me...
Waiting for Fallout 4 is a strange one, as I can't decide if the sheer variety of options isn't going to be too much for me, these days...So I may stick with me Assassin's that's coming at the same time...
All good fun...

Fortunately it's one of them games where you can go to it, get something specific to achieve (in the form of "Rewarding" bounties/missions) and then go shoot aliens inna head for an hour...

About to finish Mothership Zeta expansion to FO3- which will complete the FO3 experience. Except I think I missed one of the early recordings for Alien Archivist.
And (full credit to Bethesda for this)- the non-linear, "alien" nature of the mothership is such that I really do not want to backtrack to try to find it.
So onward to destroying the next generator- Hangar Deck, I believe.

Oh yeah. Once you get out of the *%&£*% Hinterlands area the game gets more interesting. The first point I always hurry to get to is talking to Mother Giselle, who tells you to go to Val Royeux. Once you do that it opens up more areas to explore and more things to do. After you become Inquisitor the game fully opens up.

Has anyone tried the new
updated Knights of the Old Republic 2? I loved the two KOTOR games, and I have not played them in a while. So I was excited to hear the news about this.
But what disappoints me is that it appears the only Windows version of the updated game is on Steam.

Does anyone know if there is a non-Steam Windows version? I have not been able to find even the slightest hint that there is. And given that some of the things the new version touts are Steam acheivements, Steam cloud saves, and other Steam stuff, makes me think absolutely not.
But even the Steam garbage aside, the new version does offer widescreen and hd monitor support (resolutions up to 5k). I am guessing what the Force Speed Effects option they added was to remove the blurring it caused, which drove a lot of people crazy. The Restored Content Mod that is being advertised with it sounds like it adds a lot to the game as well.
So has anyone tried it yet?
