Went back to Borderlands 3, and had been away long enough that my earlier "doesn't play EXACTLY like BL2" is no longer a problem.

Was burning out on TS2021, until discovering the free Station Workshop route Lenton-on-Sea this afternoon. As luck would have it, I bought the only two requirements I lacked to use the route this morning. (Two $2.49 scenery packs.) Drove a QuickDrive on it after supper, with a LSWR Adams Radial Tank pulled passenger train. Very impressive! Here are two images captured during the run:

Downloaded/installed/tested a new DFU mod earlier today, that provides HiRes replacements for a few NPCs. Otherwise I've done little in Daggerfall these past several days.

Found another fine TS2021 Steam Workshop route this morning - HeathField Heritage Line Revisited. Drove a Terrier-pulled passenger train along it. Wish I'd 'filmed' it. It would have made a pleasant YouTube video, I think.

I now have 25 free Workshop routes in my collection, in addition to a couple of free routes found elsewhere! That's in addition to owned payware routes, which I now have more than I like to admit. (Luckily, I bought most of them during sales.) I tend to prefer QuickDrives over Standard and Career scenarios. That might change when/if I become a more competent driver. Timetabled scenarios tend to be my downfall. I suspect that'll hold true even should I become competent.

It’s in my top 3 favorite games of all time, and definitely my favorite Bethesda game. Yeah it’s dated now, but when I first played it I had never played anything like it, and honestly, I don’t think any of the BGS games since have had quite the same “magic� that Morrowind had. Obviously just my opinion, but one I feel pretty strongly about.

Right there with you, Khajiit. It was revolutionary (to me) to have an open world and to be unrestricted to "you HAVE to do these things to play the game." And it was atmospheric in a way that nothing else had been.

Have fun with the racers, Uleni. One mod idea I seriously considered figuring out was a "Racer Repellent" potion...

She is only a "Tier 6;" so not quite as high level as her sister above = (but still higher level than both her parents). She is gorgeous! She seems very calm compared to her sister; she didn't even offer to buck when I mounted her and just stood still for all the pics despite all the crowding and pushing around her everyone was doing!

Her parents will both be sold now to make room in the stables. The father will bring in a nice price; but the mare won't be able to be bred again, so probably can't be sold. I'll see, someone might just want her for a nice saddle horse. (till they see her temper, lol).

Very nice, and congrats on your new horse. She seems shy - she keeps looking away from the camera.

Unlike her sister, she is very sedate and quiet = and probably shy too. She is very sweet.


The parents had one final baby; another "Tier 7" girl. I haven't actually seen her in person yet; so = not sure how her personality will be. She has only learned one skill so far; (her older siblings all had learned two at birth).

The parents are both retired now; (the game only allows you to breed the horses a certain number of times each) but I have two new foundation horses in training right now for the next batch of foals to come. After that I will begin training these three girls (starting with the middle child, since she is the lowest level "Tier.").

I've a very limits gaming budget this month. Decided to spend the bulk of it on a TS2021 steam locomotive. An LB&SCR E4 to be precise. British. Smallish. Tank. Just the way I like 'em. Installed it this afternoon. Something's not right. When I attempt to use it in a QuickDrive scenario the load aborts. One Standard Scenario met the same fate, claiming missing assets. Uninstall and reinstalled. No improvement. No idea what's up. A number of Train Simulator YouTube videos feature the E4. I've seen/heard absolutely no complaints about my issue. I shot off an email to the locomotive's creators. Likely won't get a response until sometime tomorrow at the earliest, due to time difference.

Friday morning addendum:
Right before shutting down the computer last night I discovered that the one QuickDrive that called for the E4 only, no passenger coaches, loads perfectly. This leads me to suspect that all other QuickDrives, and all scenarios, might require coached not supplied with the loco. Neither locomotive manual nor its web page mention this. (The normal is for locos that require addition purchases to function to mention it in documentation. The one Standard Scenario that loads sans train states in no uncertain terms that it is missing three coaches. (The loco isn't listed, though it too isn't there, so far as I can tell.)

Partial success with the LB&SCR E4. On a gamble, I ordered a cheap set of passenger coaches off Steam Marketplace that more of less match those listed as missing in that one scenario. My main concern was color. They come in three colors, sold separately. I watched a few more YT E4 vidios and noticed several using the green variety. That's what I got. Sure enough, the scenario now loads. Plus, QuickDrives utilize the coaches. Not for all variants of E4. But enough to keep me occupied. I still need to know why some variants list 'SR Coaches' but don't load. Normally, if a QuickDrive lists railcars, they are ready for use.

I like this loco very much. Except for one thing. The brakes. I've never encountered their like before. Nor can I figure out how to effectively use them. They work, but lack a means of determining how much pressure is being applied. Which has me both overshooting and undershoot stops. Boy did I plow into the set of coaches I needed to couple to! Not a pretty sight.

Still haven't heard from Caledonia Works. Being the weekend I likely won't for at least several days.

I've not done much gaming these past several days. However, this afternoon I noticed an add-on sound pack for a third-party TS2021 steam loco bought dirt-cheap during a sale last month. If memory serves, I paid all of $3US. While I don't appreciate needing to shell out extra funds to make that loco enjoyable to drive, the sound pack has done so. I gave it a test run awhile ago and am quite favorably impressed. My one remaining gripe with the loco now is that it doesn't come with custom camera positions. Its basic cameras get the job done, so it's not a lease-breaker.

My train braking abilities are atrophying. It's almost embarrassing, especially as I thought myself becoming fairly competent at it now that long ago.

Mostly The Division 1&2 on my Xbox One X.

Just finished driving a GWR 'Small Prairie' tank loco pulled passenger train in an enjoyable Standard Scenario. Compelling scenery. AI steam trains to watch during the run. No timetable, a plus for a semi noob like me. A SteamSoundsSupreme sound pack for the prairie added to the fun. Noticeably better, more realistic loco sounds than a stock Prairie provides. No demerits, not even speeding.

Played two more fun TS2021 scenarios yesterday before closing down for the day. Not a single demerit! This encouraged to continue on. Loaded a new scenario first thing after today's breakfast. My loco was housed in its shed. My first task? Drive to the first scenario marker. Moved the reverser to full-forward. Primed and set the brake to 'running'. Pressed 'C' to open cylinder-cocks. Applied a little regulator. Off it went...

The last some scenario I drove either set railway junction points automatically or warned the driver to do so. This scenario did neither. In consequence, within spitting distance of the shed my loco went strait where it ought to have taken the left branching. It plowed into the diesel train parked just beyond the junction.

I reloaded the scenario. Went through the steps above. Within the minute it took to exit and reload, I somehow managed to forget why I'd done so. The loco again went straight instead of branching left. It plowed into that parked train. At that point I decided fate was trying to tell me something. I exited TS2021 and moved on to other things.

Perhaps you need more... training.

Sounds like that gaming session went off the rails...

I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox One X and it's not a bad game, it's pretty much Fallout has a threesome with Mad Max and Blade Runner. I might have to get a 4K tv and see just how pretty this game can get.

This is a game I’m watching very closely. It sounds like by the time all the patching and DLC are done, this game could be a masterpiece.

Considering the popularity and variety of the nudie mods for BGS games, it would seem that there will be no shortage of people who will be delighted by this inclusion.

Controls feel like any other shooter or Fallout type game, it does a decent job at letting you get used to the controls. The PC port is getting high praises just as long as you got a God Tier Gaming PC. The one's getting the massive backlash is the Basic PS4/Slim, it doesn't have the power to run it as it should. I think the Xbox One/Series X and PS4 Pro/5 seems to run it just fine.

I've done little gaming lately, concentrating on reading instead. However, I caught a Caledonia Works sale the other day. Only 30% off, so I had to limit myself to one loco. I was torn between an LSWR T3 and an LSWR T9. I slightly favored the T3 overall design, but they're similar enough to be happy with either. I went for the T9 instead. It comes in more livery/color variants and provides more pre-configured QuickDrive options. I've taken on a couple QuickDrives and am quite pleased. It's a pleasure to drive, and its sounds are taken from the sole T9 that survives in Preservation. (At the moment non-functional, awaiting restoration.) Today in Rebellion


Coruscant got attacked again and by a very large fleet this time. As I had moved reinforcements to it in anticipation I managed to, quite successfully, destroy it. It will take them some time to rebuild it now so I may finally have a breather. Oh, and I just got the TIE Defender unlocked!


Vader and Palps are currently waiting in another sector for a fleet to be built so they can conquer that sector. Meanwhile I also need to make sure I keep the planets I have by building fighters, and as always I wrestle with resource issues so they better break out a deck of cards cause that fleet ain't done yet

My all time favorite snes game is finally on the Switch! A watered down version of the PC Valis IV but it's still a good game in it right. Now I wish Nintendo would do a PC Engine/Turbo Graph 16 CD Online or Sega Online and bring back the Valis series or hell put the NES/Famicom version of Valis 1 on the Switch after all these years.

I’m just waiting for Nintendo to release Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch. I just don’t understand what is taking them so long! Don’t they know OoT on the Switch is a gold mine waiting to pop up?!!

Would be nice if they ported all the 3ds games over to the Switch, sure they won't be in 3D anymore but 3D OoT and MM where good ports.

Frankly, I wish they would do a Nintendo 64 collection for Switch like they did with the NES and the SNES. Star Fox 64, Mariokart 64, and maybe even Goldeneye 007 or Perfect Dark among many other fun games? Yes please!!

I'm playing Star Wars Fallen Order on the Xbox One X. I should kick myself in the rear for not playing this game sooner, this game is gorgeous and pretty fun too. Only complaint is that you can't chop up Stormtroopers but you can sure chop up the little critters in half. Come on EA at least let us chop off some limbs.

Yeah that was my biggest complaint about it when I was watching a buddy of mine play it. There should have been occasional dismemberment. Obi Wan cut a guys arm clean off in A New Hope, Mace Windu decapitated Jango Fett, Anakin had his limbs lopped off repeatedly, and he himself decapitated Dooku, so there is definitely precedent in the films for dismemberment. Now I’m not saying every fight should end with arms and heads flying off, but it really takes me out of the immersion when not one person loses even a hand. They should’ve looked to the Jedi Knight series to see how that was done. I thought it was tastefully done. My other complaint is the protagonist. The actor they used was in the Fox show Gotham, and he played a Joker-ish character. I couldn’t not associate him with that role if I played the game.
